O P E N I N G
Opening rear screen
This opening gives you enhanced access to the boot, even if you are parked close to a wall or to another vehicle.
Opening
- Press on control 2. The handhold 4 is in line with the rear wiper.
Closing
- Lower the rear screen.
Opening the tailgate
- Press on control 1.
Note : You cannot open the tail-gate if the rear screen is already open.
Closing the tailgate
- Lower the tailgate, using one of the handholds 3, located on the inside of the tailgate trim.
- Past the balancing point, allow the tailgate to close itself (do not assist it or slow it down).

PUNCTURE REPAIR KIT
Depending on model, the puncture repair kit is located either in the boot well or in the compart-ment under the left hand second-row passenger (open the fl ap by turning the screw a quarter turn).
This puncture repair kit is a complete system for a temporary repair ; it is made up of a compres-sor and a setting product.

TO FOLD THE SEATS
From outside
- Pull fi rmly upwards on strap C, as indicated by the red arrow, to unlock the seat ; maintain the pressure until the seat is fully folded.
From the boot - whilst loading, for example (Grand C4 Picasso)
Having fi rstly folded the third-row seats.- Pull on control D to unlock the required seat.
TO RETURN THE SEATS TO
THE UPRIGHT POSITION
Return the rigid plates of the second-row seats to their initial (upright) posi-tion and lock them in position (Grand C4 Picasso).
Raise the backrest and push it back-wards until it locks in position.
RIGID PLATE (Grand C4 Picasso)
A rigid plate is attached to each second-row seat backrest.
To unlock / lock the rigid plate :
- Slide latch A of the plate down-wards, to unlock it.
- Return the plate to the upright position, then slide latch A up-wards to lock it.
Note : Before deploying the rigid plates, check that the second-row seats are slid as far back as pos-sible.
Requirements for third-row passenger seat belts Take care to attach the third-row passenger seat belts on the rings provided for this purpose.Do not attach the belts on the anchoring points marked with a red cross (see illustration above).

Emergency unlocking of the boot
Should there be a problem with the boot lock, or a battery failure :
- From the interior of the bootspace, face the rear of the vehicle.
- Insert the point of a screwdriver into the aperture Cof the lock.
- Push the white component inside the lock to the left, to unlock the boot.
Manual control (emergency mode)
Should there be an electrical failure it is possible to lock the vehicle’ doors by actioning the control B on each door.
With the door open, insert for example the end of the ignition key into the aperture and turn it.
Close the door.
After a repair, normal functioning resumes by means of the unlocking control A, the remote control or the key used in the driver’s door.

Each seat can be folded onto the fl oor to enable you to modify your vehicle’s interior space.
TO FOLD THE SEATS
- Pull fi rmly upwards on strap C, as indicated by the red arrow, to unlock the seat ; maintain the pressure until the seat is fully folded.
- Push the backrest slightly forwards so that the back-rest pivots, folding onto the seat base. The assembly then lowers onto the fl oor.
TO RETURN THE SEATS TO THE UPRIGHT
POSITION
- Raise the backrests and push them rearwards so that they lock in position
PLATES BEHIND THE SECOND ROW
SEATS
Plates below the second row seats provide the bottom of the bootspace with rigidity. They automatically fol-low the seat movements (e.g. longitudinal adjustment, folding).
A storage area is available underneath the plates.
IMPORTANT : Always supervise any movements of seats by children.

Each seat can be folded onto the fl oor to form a fl at surface, thus enabling you to modify your vehi-cle’s interior space.
TO FOLD THE SEATS
From the exterior
- Pull fi rmly upwards on strap C, as indicated by the red arrow, to unlock the seat ; maintain the pressure until the seat is fully folded.
- Push the backrest slightly for-wards, so that the backrest piv-ots, folding onto the seat base. The assembly will then lower onto the fl oor.
From the boot (in the loading situation, for example)
You can fold the second-row seat(s) from the boot, having fi rst folded the third-row seats.
- Pull on the control D to unlock the chosen seat, push the back-rest gently forwards.
TO RETURN THE SEATS TO
THE UPRIGHT POSITION
1. Return the second-row seat bases to their initial position and lock them in that position.
2. Raise the backrests and push them rearwards so that they lock in position.
To unlock / lock the rigid plate :
- Slide the latch A on the plate downwards, to unlock.
- Return the plate to the upright position, then slide the latch Aupwards, to lock.
Note : Before deploying the rigid plates, check that the second-row seats are slid as far as possible rearwards. 5-seater confi gurations do not have these rigid plates.
RIGID PLATE
Each second-row seat backrest has a rigid plate attached.
This plate enables you :
- to have a continuous load surface in the boot, whatever the positions of the seats,
- to avoid having objects sliding un-der the second-row seats.
Before moving the third-row seats, return the second-row rigid plates to their initial posi-tion and lock them.
Emergency exit : Should the fi rst system fail (control C), the control D is available for use by third-row passengers to accel-erate their exit.
IMPORTANT : Always super-vise any movements of seats by children.

A Lounge version is available in the 5 seater model. This has two se-cond-row seats that are identical to the fi rst-row seats, providing greater comfort for rear passengers.
ADJUSTING THE SEATS
The seats have the following adjust-ments :
- head-restraint adjustment,
- backrest angle,
- greater longitudinal adjustment,
- height-adjustable armrests.
Refer to the page " FRONT SEATS - Manual adjustments " for the operation of the adjustment controls.
LUGGAGE COVER BEHIND
THE SEATS
A fl exible luggage cover positio-ned behind the second-row seats enables you to prevent objects from sliding under or between the second-two seats, as well as concealing the contents of your boot from outside view.
It is fi xed to the fl oor by two hooks located behind the seats and an-chored at special points on the rear pillars.
This fl exible luggage cover is mo-vable and can be rolled up for stowage behind the second-row seats.
SEAT BELTS
For safety reasons, always attach your seat belt before positioning the armrest between yourself and the door.
STORAGE POCKETS
Two storage pockets are located on the insides of the Lounge ver-sion seats.

2. Interior lamp with three positions
In this position, the interior lamp comes on when you open a door or the boot.
In this position, it is deac-tivated and thus perma-nently off.
In this position, lighting is permanent.
They come on immediate-ly you unlock the vehicle or open a door.
They go out 30 seconds after the doors have been closed, or when the ignition is switched on.

LAMPS
The panoramic glass roof lamps have two operating modes :
- automatic lighting when you open a door or when the front in-terior lamp is in the permanent position,
- permanent lighting.

Note :
- the opening of a door switches the interior lamps on.
- the opening of the tailgate switches the third-row interior lamp on, also the boot lamps.
INTERIOR LAMPS
1. Reading lamps
A press on one of the buttons switches the corresponding spot-lamp on or off.
They do not come on if the ignition is switched off or if the vehicle is in economy mode.
When you leave the vehicle :
- they come on when you re-move the ignition key (for about 30 seconds), or when a door is opened.
- they go out after 30 seconds with the doors closed, or immediate-ly the vehicle is locked, or after 10 minutes if a door is open.

The portable fl ash light, connected to the boot wall, possesses the double function :
- boot lamp,
- portable lamp.
The boot lamp A comes on automatically when you open the boot.
The portable lamp operates on rechargeable batteries.
Note :
- Never replace the rechargeable batteries with ordinary batteries.
- Replace them with identical ones of the NiMH type.
- Respect the polarities when you are positioning these rechargeable batteries.
- See the procedure to be followed in the chapter “Changing bulbs”, to access the rechargeable bat-teries.
To use the portable fl ash light:
- Remove it from its housing by starting to pull from the top as indicated by the arrow.
- Press on the switch C, located on the back of the lamp, to turn it on or off.
- The bracket B allows you to put the lamp down for a precise purpose (for example while changing a wheel).
To stow the portable fl ash light:
- Always position the lamp in its housing starting from the bottom.
If it is not properly positioned, it may not recharge and
will fail to come on when you open the boot.
Note:
- Putting the portable lamp back in position automati-cally turns it off, if you have not already done so.
- The portable lamp can stay on for a maximum of 45 minutes and recharges in a few hours as you are driving.

CENTRAL CONSOLE
The central console contains :
- two cup-holders.
- a 1 2 V a c c e s s o r i e s s o c k e t(Maximum power : 120W).
The latter is operational when the ignition is on.
Note : there may be a second 12V socket in the boot.
- a cigar lighter.
Press and wait for a few moments for the lighter to deploy automati-cally.The cigar lighter comes out slightly to enable you to grasp it. It can act as a 12V socket (120 W).
- a movable ashtray.
This is in one of the console’s cup-holders: it can be used in the cup-holders on the rear tables.

- Pull on the tab A and anchor the blind on the hook B.
Rear screen blind
- Pull on the tab of the blind lo-cated on the luggage cover and position the blind on the hooks.
Do not attach or suspend heavy objects in the environs of the sun visors (central rear view mirror rails, blind hooks, sun visor blinds, etc.)
SUN BLINDS
(Grand C4 Picasso)
Second row
- Pull on the tab A and anchor the blind on the hooks B.
Third-row
The blinds are incorporated in the third-row trim panels.
- Pull on the tab and anchor the blind on the hooks.
Rear screen blind
- Pull on the tab and anchor the blind on the hooks.
