A. Sunlight sensor.
B. Soft air conditioning diffusion grille. The soft diffusion grille located in the centre of the dashboard provides an optimum air distribution for the front seats.
This device eliminates unpleasant air currents whilst maintainin g an optimum tempera-ture in the passenger compartment.
To open the soft air diffusion grille, move the control knob upwards.
To close the soft air diffusion grille, move the control knob all the way down.
In very hot weather, to improve the central and lateral ventilation, closing off the soft diffusion air conditioning is recommended.

You are advised to use the auto-matic air conditioning regulation. This automatically regulates the following functions for maximum comfort : air fl ow, passenger com-partment temperature, and air dis-tribution, using different sensors (external temperature, sunlight). This avoids the need to alter any of the settings, with the exception of the temperature displayed.
Take care not to obstruct the sun-light sensor A.
Provided you retain automatic mode (by pressing button “AUTO”) and all the air vents are open, you will maintain an optimum comfort level, also removing humidity and misting, whatever the ambient cli-matic conditions.
The temperature inside the cabin cannot be lower than the tempera-ture outside if the air conditioning is not operating.
To be effective, the air conditioning should only be used with the win-dows closed. If after a lengthy stop in bright sunlight the interior tem-perature is excessive, air the pas-senger compartment by opening the windows for a few moments, then close them again.
Air circulation
For your comfort we advise you to maintain a proper distribution of air within the cabin, both at the front and at the rear.
To obtain an even distribution of air, ensure that you do not obstruct the external air inlet grille located at the base of the windscreen, the air vents, the air outlets on the fl oor underneath the front seats, and the air extractor located behind the fl aps in the boot.
The front and rear air vents are fi t-ted with control knobs which allow you to control and direct the air fl ow. It is recommended to keep all the air vents open.
Dust/pollen fi lter
There is a fi lter for excluding pollen and dust.
This fi lter has to be changed accord-ing to the vehicle maintenance sched-ule. See “Maintenance Guide”.
To ensure the correct operation of the air conditioning system, it is essential to operate the air condi-tioning at least once a month.
The air conditioning operates by using power from the engine. This results in a slight increase in fuel consumption.
In certain extreme operating con-ditions (e.g. carrying a full load up a steep gradient in high tempera-tures), the switching off of the air conditioning allows more power to be transferred to the engine, thereby increasing the towing capacity.
Air inlet
Check that the exterior grille for the air inlet, at the bottom of the wind-screen, is clean and free of dead leaves, snow, etc.
If washing the vehicle with a high pressure jet, avoid targeting the air inlet zone.

This button activates the recirculation of air in the passenger compart-ment.
Press button 8 to switch off the entry of air from outside. The warning lamp comes on.
Whilst retaining the other settings, this position allows the driver at any moment to exclude unpleasant smells or smoke/emissions coming from outside.
This mode should be cancelled as soon as possible to allow the redistribution of air in the pas-senger compartment.
8. Air recirculation – Entry of air from outsideRemarks:When starting from cold, in order to prevent unwanted cold air, the air fl ow will increase only gradually to its optimum level.
If you enter the vehicle after a fairly prolonged stop and the temperature inside the vehicle is far from comfortable, it serves no purpose to modify the tem-perature that is displayed as an attempt to go immediately to the desired comfort level. The system automatically uses all of its power to compensate the temperature gap as quickly as possible.Water arising from the conden-sation in the air conditioning drains out through a hole pro-vided for this purpose ; a pool of water may thus form under-neath the vehicle when station-ary.
Whatever the time of year, even in cool weather the air condition-ing is useful in removing humid-ity and misting. Avoid driving for too long with air conditioning deactivated.

One or more functions can be adjusted manually, while still retain-ing the other functions in automatic mode.
Press on any of the buttons, except for temperature 2a and 2b. Lights Aon buttons “AUTO” go out.
Changing to manual mode may result in a decrease in comfort level (temperature, humidity, smell, misting) and is not advised for opti-mum comfort.
To return to “AUTO” mode, press on buttons 1a and 1b. Lights Acome on.
3a-3b. Adjusting the air distribution
Press but-ton 3a to change the driver's side air fl ow distribu-tion.

The air fl ow level is indicated by the progressive lighting of the ventilator blades.
By reducing the air fl ow to its mini-mum setting, the air conditioning system switches itself off (OFF).
To prevent misting and poor air qual-ity in the passenger compartment, take care to maintain a suffi cient fl ow of air.
4. Adjusting the air fl ow
The air fl ow can only be adjusted with the engine running.
To adjust the air fl ow, press button:
to increase the air fl ow
to reduce the air fl ow
5. Air conditioning
Air conditioning only works with the engine running. The air blower button (air fl ow adjustment) must be activated to obtain air conditioning.Press on button 6. The warning lamp comes on.To function effi ciently, air conditioning should be used with the windows closed.
This button activates the recirculation of air in the passenger compart-ment and can function automatically.

7. Rear demisting - deicing
Press button 7, with the engine running, to start a rapid deicing or demisting of the rear screen and rear view mirrors. The warning lamp comes on.
This mode automatically stops depending on the outside tempera-ture. It can be interrupted by a fur-ther press on button 7 or by stop-ping the engine.
In some cases, “AUTO” mode may not be suf-fi cient to demist or defrost the windows (e.g. humidity, several passengers, frost).
Press button 8 for rapid clear win-dows. The warning lamp comes on. This system controls air con-ditioning, temperature and air fl ow/entry. It distributes ventilation towards the windscreen and the front windows.
You can manually exit “Demisting” mode. This mode should be can-celled as soon as possible to allow the redistribution of air in the pas-senger compartment.
A press on either of the buttons 1aor 1b allows you to return to “AUTO” mode.
