pull the control for at least 5 seconds or until application is complete.)

warning lamps come on.
The application is slower than during normal operation.

pull the control lever and hold it for approximately 3 seconds then
release it.
If the braking warning lamp is flashing or if the warning lamps do not come on with the ignition on, these procedures will not work. Place the
vehicle on level ground and have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or aqualified workshop. an

Special situations

In the event of a malfunction of the parking brake in the on positionor a battery failure,manual release remains possible possible. To ensure correct operation, and soyour safety, the number of successive applications and releases of the parking brake is limited to eight cycles.
If used excessively, you are aler ted bythe message "parking brake faulty" and a flashing warning lamp.

In some circumstances (engine start...),the parking brake may adjust the level of application itself. This is normal operation.
To m o v e your vehicle a few centimetreswithout starting the engine, with the ignition on, press the brake pedal and release the parking brake by pullingthen releasingthe control lever A
. Complete release of theparking brake is indicated by the warning lamps in the control lever Aand in theinstrument panel going off and by the display of the message "Handbrake off".

choice between the comfor t of fully automatic

Return to automatic
operation

At any time, press the button selected
again to quit the programme engaged and
return to auto-adaptive mode. These two special pro
grammes supplement the automatic operation in very specific conditions of use.

Stopping the vehicle

Before switching off the engine, put the lever in position Por N
to place the gearbox in neutral.
In both cases, apply the parking brake toimmobilise the vehicle, unless it is programmed
to automatic mode.

If the lever is not in position P
, when thePdriver's door is opened or approximately45 seconds after the ignition is switched off, there is an audible signal and amessage appears. )
Return the lever to position P
; the audible signal stops and the message disappears.
Operating fault
When the ignition is on, a message appears in the instrument panel screen to indicate agearbox fault.
In this case, the gearbox switches to back-up
mode and is locked in 3rd
gear. You may feel a substantial knock when changing from Pto R
and from Nto R. This will not cause anydamage to the gearbox.
Do not exceed 60 mph (10 0 km/h), local speedrestrictions permitting.
Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or aqualified workshop.
You risk damaging the gearbox:


- if you press the accelerator and brake pedals at the same time,

- if you force the lever from position Pto another position when the batteryis flat.

To reduce fuel consumption whenstationary for long periods with theengine running (traffic jam...), position
the gear lever at Nand apply theparking brake, unless it is programmed in automatic mode.

Engagement of reverse gear isaccompanied by an audible signal.
If the gear lever is not in position Nonstarting, N
flashes in the instrument panel, accompanied by an audiblesignal and a message in the instrument panel screen. Foot on brakeflashes on the instrument panel, accompanied by anaudible signal and a message in the instrument panel screen, if the brakepedal is not pressed on star ting.

When the engine is idling with the
brakes off, if position R, Aor M
is selected, the vehicle will move off on its own without any action on theaccelerator.

After star ting the vehicle, select position Afor enter automatic mode.
AUTOand the gear engaged appear in the instrument panel screen.
The
gearbox is then operating in auto-active
mode, without any action on the par t of the driver. It continuously selects the most suitablegear, depending on the:


- style of driving,

- profile of the road.


For optimum acceleration, for example when overtaking another vehicle, pressthe accelerator pedal firmly past the point of resistance.

paddles.
AUTOdisappears and the gearsengaged appear successively in theinstrument panel screen.
The gear change requests are only carried out
if the engine speed permits.
It is not necessary to release the accelerator
during gear changes.
When braking or slowing down, the gearboxchanges down automatically to permit
acceleration in the correct gear.
This selective
gear change mode enables you
to over take, for example, while still remaining in automatic mode.)Operate the +or - steering mounted controlpaddle.
The gearbox engages the gear requested if theengine speed permits. AUTOis still displayedin the instrument panel.
After a few moments without any action on
the controls, the gearbox resumes automatic control of the gears.

Manual mode


At very low speed, if reverse gear isrequested, this will only be taken intoaccount when the vehicle is immobilised(foot on the brake). A warning lamp appears in the instrument panel screen.

On sharp acceleration in manual mode,the gearbox will not change up unless the driver acts on the gear lever or thesteering mounted paddles.
Never select neutral N
while the vehicleis moving. Only engage reverse gear Rwhen thevehicle is immobilised with the brakepedal pressed.

Head-up display
System which projects information onto a
transparent strip in the field of vision of the
driver so that they do not have to take their eyes off the road.
This system operates when the engine is running and the settings are stored when the
ignition is switched off.

)With the engine running, press button 1.The activated/deactivated status when theengine was switched off is retained when
the engine is switched on again.
The strip retracts automatically 3 seconds after switching off the engine except in STOP mode
of Stop & Start.

With the engine running, adjust the brightness of the information usingbutton 3:


- towards the rear to increase
the brightness,

- towards the front to decreasethe brightness.



Brightness adjustment

We recommend that adjustments areonly made using these buttons whenthe vehicle is stationary.
When stationary or while driving, no objects should be placed around thetransparent strip (or on its cover) toavoid blocking the strip output and preventing its correct operation.


In certain extreme weather conditions (rain and/or snow, bright sunshine, ...)the head-up display may not be legibleor may suffer temporary inter ference.
Some sunglasses may hamper readingof the information. To clean the transparent strip, use aclean, soft cloth (such as a spectacles cloth or microfibre cloth). Do not usea dry or abrasive cloth or detergent or solvent products as these could scratch the strip or damage the anti-reflection coating.



Height adjustment
)With the engine running, adjust the display
to the required height using button 2:
- towards the rear to move the display up,
- towards the front to move the display down.

Speed limiter System which prevents the vehicle fromexceeding the speed programmed by the driver.
When the programmed speed limit is reached, pressing the accelerator pedal no longer has
any effect.
The speed limiter cannot, in any
circumstances, replace the need to respect speed limits, nor can it replace the need for vigilance and responsibilityon the par t of the driver.The functions of this s
ystem are grouped
together on the steering mounted controls. 1.Speed limiter mode selection dial. 2. Programmed value decrease button. 3.

Steering mounted controls

The speed limiter is switched onmanually:
it requires a programmed speed of at least
20 mph (30 km/h).
The speed limiter is switched offby manual foperation of the control.
The programmed speed can be exceeded
temporaril
y by pressing the accelerator firmlybeyond the point of resistance.
To return to the programmed speed, simply
release the accelerator pedal.
The pro
grammed speed remains in the memory
when the i
gnition is switched off.
