If towing a trailer or caravan or if theslope might vary (transpor t by boat or lorry, recovery of the vehicle...) make a maximum application of the parking brake - by making a long pull on the
control lever A

Manual Application/Release

of the parking brake is possible by pulling
the control lever A. With the ignition on, manual releaseof theparking brake is possible by pressing the brake pedal

If an audible signal is heard on opening the driver's door with the hybrid system active, apply the parking brake
manually. Do not leave a child alone in the vehicle with the ignition on; they might release the parking brake.
Automatic Application/Release
Press the accelerator pedal, the parking brakeis released automatically and progressively as you move off.With the vehicle stationary, the parking brakeis applied automatically on switching off theignition (Readylamp off).

Starting the Hybrid4 system

- Place the gear lever in position N .
- Inser t the electronic key in the reader or keep the electronic key inside the vehicle.
- Press the brake pedal firmly.
- Press the STA R T/STOPbutton.

Move off




- While maintaining pressure on the brake pedal, move the gear lever to position A
to go forwards or Rfor reverse.

- Ta k e your foot off the brake pedal, you canmove off.

Hybrid system

Presentation
The Hybrid4 technology allows two sources of energy to be associated in an effective manner:
the Diesel HDi engine, which drives the front
wheels and the electric motor, which drives the
rear wheels.
These two motors can operate alternately or simultaneously, according to the hybrid modeselected and the driving conditions.
The electric motor alone provides power for
the vehicle in "ZEV" (Zero Emissions Vehicle) mode, and in "Auto" mode for running at slowspeed and low load. It also assists the Dieselengine when moving off, accelerating and changing gear.
The battery that powers the electric motor is recharged during phases of deceleration andstores the energy for subsequent use.
