1. FF/REW Button
o Fast forward tape winding starts
when the FF button is pressed during PLAY or REW mode.
o PLAY starts when the FF button is
pressed again during FF mode.
o Tape rewinding starts when REW button is pressed during PLAY or FFmode.
o PLAY starts when REW button pressed again during REW mode.
2. AUTO MUSIC SELECT Button Press the button to find the starting point of each song in a prerecorded music tape. The quiet space betweensongs (must have at least a 4 sec. gap) can be identified by the AUTO MUSIC SELECT button.
o Pressing the will play the begin- ning of the next music segment.
o Pressing the will start replay at the beginning of the music just lis- tened to.
o To stop FF or REW action, press the button again. 3. TAPE PROGRAM Button This allows you to play the reverse side of the tape by merely pressing theprogram button. An arrow will appear in the display to show tape direction.
4. EJECT button
o When the EJECT button is pressed
with a cassette loaded, the cassette will eject.
o When the EJECT button is pressed during FF/REW mode, the cassettewill eject.
5. EQ Button Press the EQ button to select the CLASSIC, JAZZ, ROCK and DEFEAT MODE for the desired tone quality. Each press of the button changes thedisplay as follows; 6. DOLBY Button If you get background noise during tape PLAY, you can reduce this consider-ably by merely pressing the DOLBY button. If you want to cancel the DOLBY feature, press the button again.

1. Playing CD
o Insert the CD with the label facing
upward.
o Insert the CD to start CD playback, during radio operation or cassette tape playing.
o When a disc is in the CD deck, if you press the play button the CD playerwill begin playing even if the radio orcassette player is being used.
o The CD player can be used when
the ignition switch is in either the"ON" or "ACC" position.
2. FF/REW While the disc is playing, if you hold down the FF button continuously, the selected track is advanced. Holding down the REW button continuouslymoves the selected track back.
3. TRACK UP/DOWN
o The desired track on the disc cur- rently being played can be selected using the track number.
o Press once to skip forward to the beginning of the next track.
o Press once to skip back to the
beginning of the track. 4. SCAN (If installed)
o Press the SCAN button to playback
the first 10 seconds of each track.
o Press the SCAN button again within
10 sec. when you have reached the desired track.
5. REPEAT
o To repeat the track you are currently listening to, press the RPT button. To cancel , press again.
o If you do not release RPT operation
after all the tracks are played back,the unit will play back again from the first track.
6. EQ Button Press the EQ button to select the CLASSIC, JAZZ, ROCK and DEFEAT MODE for the desired tone quality. Each press of the button changes thedisplay as follows; NOTE:
o To assure proper operation of the
unit, keep the vehicle interior tem- perature within a normal range by using the vehicle's air condition-ing or heating system.
o When replacing the fuse, replace
it with a fuse having the correctcapacity.
o The preset station frequencies
are all erased when the car bat-tery is disconnected. Therefore, all data will have to be set again if this should occur.
o Do not add any oil to the rotating
parts. Keep magnets, screwdriv-ers and other metallic objects away from the tape mechanism and head.
o This equipment is designed to be used only in a 12 volt DCbattery system with negativeground.
o This unit is made of precision
parts. Do not attempt to disas-semble or adjust any parts.

o To use the CD auto changer
1. Open the sliding lid of the CD auto
changer.
2. To eject the compact disc maga- zine, press the EJECT button lo- cated inside the CD auto changer.
3. Insert the discs into the magazine.
4. Push the magazine into the CD auto changer and close the sliding lid.
o The CD auto changer can be used when the ignition switch is in either"ON" or "ACC" position.
1. CDCHG Button When the CD changer have discs in- serted in the magazine, if you press the CDCHG button, the CD changer can be used even if the radio or cas-sette player is being used. The Hyundai CD changer can hold up to eight discs. The disc number will be lit, and thetrack number, and elapsed time will be displayed. 6. REPEAT

B890A01Y-AAT AUDIO FAULT CODE If you see any error indication in the display while using the system in the CD or Tape mode, find the cause in the chart below .
If you cannot clear the error indication, take the car to your Hyundai dealer.
SOLUTION
After resetting the audio system, push the eject button. If disc is not ejected, consult your hyundai dealer. Make sure the disc is not scratched or damaged. Press the eject button and pull out the disc.Then insert a normal cd disc. Check if the disc is inserted correctly in the cd player. Make sure the disc is not scratched or damaged. After resetting the audio system, push the eject button. If tape does not eject, consult your Hyundai dealer.Fault code will reset automatically when the temperature returns to normal. Insert disc in magazine or insert cd magazine in the auto changer.

Storage When not in use, place your discs in their individual cases and store them in a cool place away from the sun, heat, and dust.Do not grip or pull out the disc with your hand while the disc is being pulled into the unit by the self loading mechanism.Do not pull the unit from the dash immediately after a disc is inserted or the eject switch has been pressed. If
the unit is pulled out before an opera- tion is completed, the disc will be un- stable in the unit and may be dam-aged. Do not attempt to insert a disc into the unit when the unit is out of the dash orthe power is off.
B850A01F-AAT CARE OF DISC Proper Handling Handle your disc as shown. Do not drop the disc. Hold the disc so you will not leave fingerprints on the surface. Ifthe surface is scratched, it may cause the pickup to skip signal tracks. Do not affix tape, paper, or gummed labels onthe disc. Do not write on the disc. Damaged Disc Do not attempt to play damaged, warped or cracked discs. These couldseverely damage the playback mecha- nism.

Keep Your Discs Clean Fingerprints, dust, or soil on the surface of a disc could cause the pickup to skip signal tracks. Wipe the surface clean with a clean soft cloth.If the surface is heavily soiled, dampen a clean soft cloth in a solution of mild neutral detergent to wipe it clean.

o Be sure that the cassette label is not
loose or peeling off or tape ejection may be difficult.
o Never touch or soil the actual audio
tape surfaces.
o Keep all magnetized objects, such as electric motors, speakers or trans-formers away from your cassettetapes and tape player unit.
o Store cassettes in a cool, dry place
with the open side facing down toprevent dust from setting in the cas- sette body.
o We strongly recommend against the
use of tapes longer than C-60 (60 minutes total). Tapes such as C-120 or C-180 are very thin and do not perform as well in the automo- tive environment. o Avoid repeated fast reverse usage to
replay one given tune or tape sec-tion. This can cause poor tape wind-ing to occur, and eventually cause excessive internal drag and poor audio quality in the cassette. If thisoccurs, it can sometimes be cor- rected by fast winding the tape from end to end several times. If this doesnot correct the problem, do not con- tinue to use the tape in your vehicle.
B860A01A-AAT CARE OF CASSETTE TAPES Proper care of your cassette tapes will extend the tape life and increase your listening enjoyment. Always protectyour tapes and cassette cases from direct sunlight, severely cold and dusty conditions. When not in use, cassettesshould always be stored in the original protective cassette case. When the vehicle is very hot or cold, allow theinterior temperature to become more comfortable before listening to your cassettes.
o Never leave a cassette inserted in
the player when not being played. This could damage the tape player unit and the cassette tape. B860A01L
