Just before impact, drivers often
brake heavily. Such heavy braking
lowers the front portion of the vehicle
causing it to “ride” under a vehicle
with a higher ground clearance. Air
bags may not inflate in this “under-
ride” situation because deceleration
forces that are detected by sensors
may be significantly reduced by such
“underride” collisions.
OHI038166
Front air bags may not inflate in roll-
over accidents because front air bag
deployment would not provide addi-
tional occupant protection.
i Information
‡ 9ehicles equipped with rollover sen-
sor
7he side and curtain air bags may
inflate in a rollover situation, when it
is detected by the rollover sensor.
‡ 9ehicles not equipped with rollover
sensor
7he side and/or curtain air bags may
inflate when the vehicle is rolled over
by a side impact collision, if the vehi-
cle is equipped with side and/or cur-
tain air bags.
OAC3039034TU
Air bags may not inflate if the vehicle
collides with objects such as utility
poles or trees, where the point of
impact is concentrated and the colli-
sion energy is absorbed by the vehi-
cle structure.

The battery sensor is deactivated,
when the battery is disconnected
from the negative pole for mainte-
nance purpose.
In this case, the ISG system is limit-
edly operated due to the battery sen-
sor deactivation. Thus, the driver
needs to take the following proce-
dures to reactivate the battery sensor
after disconnecting the battery.
Prerequisites to reactivate the
battery sensor
Keep the engine in the OFF status for

any accessories (i.e. navigation and
black box) to the vehicle with the
engine in the OFF status. If not, the
battery sensor may not be reactivat-
ed.
i Information
7he IS* system may not operate in the
following situations.
- 7here is a malfunction with the IS*
system.
- 7he battery is weak.
- 7he brake vacuum pressure is low.
In those cases, we recommend that you
have the IS* system checked by a
+<81'AI authorised repairer.
