The Back-Up Warning System is not a safety device . The Back-Up
Warning System is a supplemental system that assists the driver by
chiming if any object is detected within the sensing area to the rear
and side of the vehicle when backing up . When the ignition is ON,
the system is activated .

Rear-Camera Display*
The Rear-Camera Display system is not a safety device . It is a supplemental
system that displays the view behind the vehicle through the Navigation
System* or UVO eServices System* screen while the vehicle is in Reverse .
The Rear-Camera Display activates when the:
•ENGINE START/STOP button is in the ON position (green light)
•Gear Shift Lever is in the R (Reverse) position

REMINDER: UVO System — While camera is active, only the volume controls on the Audio System can be operated .

Service Plug (Safety Plug) /
12V Battery Compartment
Hybrid Battery Vent (Air Intake)
The Hybrid Battery Vent, located behind the
rear seats, is used to cool down the hybrid battery . For safety
reasons, this vent should never be blocked . Doing so may
cause the battery to overheat .
PRECAUTION: Never clean the battery vent with a WET cloth or spill liquid over the air intake . This could cause an electric shock, which could cause serious damage, injury or death .
CAUTION: Wait 5 minutes after plug is disconnected to ensure all remaining charge has dissipated .
CAUTION: These components are connected to the hybrid battery system . Avoid touching the service plug or the wires, cables and connectors for these components, as it may cause severe burns or electric shock .
Service Plug A — The service plug is located within the trunk compartment .
Service of the hybrid system should be performed by a Kia trained service
technician .
12V Battery Compartment B — The battery is located in the trunk for hybrid
models and should be kept securely mounted .

The Tire Mobility Kit may temporarily seal certain
types of tire damage .

REMINDER: After tire is properly sealed, drive cautiously at a maximum speed of 50 mph for a maximum distance of up to 120 miles .
Child Safety Locks
Locate these locks on the rear edge of the rear passenger
doors . Turn the safety lock to the LOCK position to disable
the inner door handles from opening the rear doors .
REMINDER: Child Safety Lock is located on rear passenger’s door jamb .
