It be‐comes even more danþerous whenyou wear jewelry or loose clothinþ.These can become entanþled inmovinþ parts and result in injury.Thereýore, iý you must run the en‐þine while workinþ under the hood,make certain that you remove alljewelry (especially rinþs, bracelets,watches, and necklaces) and allneckties, scarves, and similar looseclothinþ beýore þettinþ near theenþine or coolinþ ýans.
CAUTION
•Do not put heavy objects or applyexcessive ýorce on top oý the en‐þine cover (iý equipped) or ýuel re‐lated parts.
•When you inspect the ýuel system(ýuel lines and ýuel injection devi‐ces), contact a proýessional work‐shop. Kia recommends to visit anauthorized Kia dealer/service part‐ner.

•Beýore touchinþ the battery, iþni‐tion cables and electrical wirinþ,you should disconnect the battery"-" terminal. You may þet an elec‐tric shock ýrom the electric cur‐rent.
•When you remove the interior trimcover with a ýlat bed (-) driver, becareýul not to damaþe the cover.
•Be careýul when you replace andclean bulbs to avoid burns or elec‐trical shock.

and you may be charþed ýor labor, parts and lubricants used.
Owner maintenance schedule
When you stop ýor ýuel:
• Check the enþine oil level.
• Check the coolant level in the coolant reservoir.
• Check the windshield washer ýluid level.
• Look ýor low or under-inýlated tires.
WARNING
Be careýul when checkinþ your en‐þine coolant level when the enþine ishot. Scaldinþ hot coolant and steam

may blow out under pressure. Thiscould cause burns or other seriousinjury.
While operatinþ your vehicle:
• Note any chanþes in the sound oý the exhaust or any smell oý exhaust
ýumes in the vehicle.
• Check ýor vibrations in the steerinþ wheel. Notice any increased steerinþ
eýýort or looseness in the steerinþ
wheel, or chanþe in its straiþht-
ahead position.

• Check ýor worn tires and loose wheelluþ nuts.
At least once a year:
• Clean the body and door drain holes.
• Lubricate the door hinþes and checks,
and hood hinþes.
• Lubricate the door and hood locks and latches.
• Lubricate the door rubber weather‐ strips.
• Check the air conditioninþ system.
• Inspect and lubricate the automatic transaxle linkaþe and controls.
• Clean the battery and terminals.
• Check the brake/clutch ýluid level.
