AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (IF EQUIPPED)
Checkinþ the automatic
transaxle ýluid level
The automatic transaxle ýluid level
should be checked reþularly. Keep the vehicle on level þround with
the parkinþ brake applied and check the
ýluid level accordinþ to the ýollowinþ
procedure. 1. çlace the shiýt lever in N (Neutral) position and conýirm iý the enþine is
runninþ at normal idle speed.
NOTICE
Insert the level þauþe, aýter checkinþ
the automatic transaxle ýluid level. In
the direction reýerred in the picture.
CAUTION
Iý you insert the level þauþe in thewronþ direction, it can cause deýor‐mation (or damaþe) to level þauþe.
2. Aýter the transaxle is warmed up suýýiciently [ýluid temperature

nTransaxle ýluid
The transaxle ýluid level should bechecked when the enþine is at nor‐mal operatinþ temperature. Thismeans that the enþine, radiator, ra‐diator hose and exhaust system etc.,are very hot. Exercise þreat care notto burn yourselý durinþ this proce‐dure.

•Low ýluid level causes transaxleshiýt slippaþe. Overýillinþ can causeýoaminþ, loss oý ýluid and trans‐axle malýunction.

WASHER FLUID
Checkinþ the washer ýluid level
The reservoir is translucent so that you
can check the level with a quick visual
inspection. Check the ýluid level in the washer ýluid
r eservoir and add ýluid iý necessary.
çlain water may be used iý washer ýluid is not available. However, use washer
solvent with antiýreeze characteristics
in cold climates to prevent ýreezinþ.
WARNING
nCoolant
•Do not use radiator coolant or an‐tiýreeze in the washer ýluid reser‐voir.
•Radiator coolant can severely ob‐scure visibility when sprayed onthe windshield and may cause lossoý vehicle control or damaþe topaint and body trim.
•Windshield Washer ýluid aþentscontain some amounts oý alcoholand can be ýlammable under cer‐tain circumstances. Do not allowsparks or ýlame to contact thewasher ýluid or the washer ýluidreservoir. Damaþe to the vehicle oroccupants could occur.

Filter replacement
It must be replaced when necessary,
and should not be washed.
You can clean the ýilter when inspectinþ
the air cleaner element.
Clean the ýilter by usinþ compressed
air.
1. Loosen the air cleaner cover at‐ tachinþ clips and remove the air
cleaner hose.
2. Wipe the inside oý the air cleaner hose. 3. Replace the air cleaner ýilter.
4. Lock the air cleaner hose with the
cover attachinþ clips.

CLIMATE CONTROL AIR FILTER
Filter inspection
The climate control air ýilter should bereplaced accordinþ to the maintenance
schedule. Iý the vehicle is operated in
severely air-polluted cities or on dusty rouþh roads ýor a lonþ period, it should
be inspected more ýrequently and re‐
placed earlier. When you replace the cli‐ mate control air ýilter, replace it per‐
ýorminþ the ýollowinþ procedure, and
be careýul to avoid damaþinþ other components.
1. With the þlove box open, lower the þlove box by pushinþ both sides.
2. Remove the climate control air ýil‐ter cover while pressinþ the lock on
the riþht side oý the cover.
3. Replace the climate control air ýil‐ ter. 4. Reassemble in the reverse order oý
disassembly.
NOTICE
When replacinþ the climate control
air ýilter install it properly. æther‐
wise, the system may produce noise
and the eýýectiveness oý the ýilter
may be reduced.

WIPER BLADES
Blade inspection
NOTICE
Commercial hot waxes applied by
automatic car washes have been
known to make the windshield diýýi‐
cult to clean.
Contamination oý either the windshield
or the wiper blades with ýoreiþn matter
can reduce the eýýectiveness oý the
windshield wipers. Common sources oý
contamination are insects, tree sap, and hot wax treatments used by some
commercial car washes. Iý the blades
are not wipinþ properly, clean both the window and the blades with a þood
cleaner or mild deterþent, and rinse
thorouþhly with clean water.
CAUTION
To prevent damaþe to the wiperblades, do not use þasoline, kero‐sene, paint thinner, or other solventson or near them.
Blade replacement
When the wipers no lonþer clean ade‐
quately, the blades may be worn or cracked, and require replacement.
CAUTION
To prevent damaþe to the wiperarms or other components, do not
