Assembling the rear combination lights 1.Position the combination lights ( *)LJ) and connect the connection/s ( +)LJ):

1 connection for European version

2 connections for USA version
2. Reset the 4 striker plates ( L-Fig.3), screwing them in counter-clockwise.
3. Put the headlight into its seat and align it with the body.
4. Put the 4 screws ( M-Fig.4) in one at a time and tighten them by hand while paying attention that the combination
lights stay aligned with the body. In this way the striker plates are correctly positioned.
5. Thoroughly tighten the 4 screws ( M-Fig.4).
6. Check that alignment with the body is correct; if not, repeat the procedure from step 2.
• Assemble the rear grid (081305).
• Assemble the rear wheel arch element of the rear wheel arch (082105).
• Assemble the rear wheels (060105).

4. By means of the space created by the stone guard, remove the screw ( &)LJ) at the bottom of the windshield
wiper mechanism.
5. Remove the windshield wiper mechanism ( ')LJ) through the space created by the disassembled stone
guard.

Assembling the SDM control unit
 0DNH VXUH WKDW WKH FRQWURO XQLW GRHV QRW SUHVHQW VLJQV RI ZHDU VFUDWFKHV RU RLO &KHFN WKDW QRIRUHLJQERGLHVDUHVWXFNXQGHUQHDWKWKHFRQWUROXQLW
1. Insert the airbag control unit into the center console, checking that the car’s travel direction coincides with the
arrow on the control unit.
2. Connect the two connectors; the yellow-orange Siemens connector with the same one on the wiring harness,
properly rotating the tab to lock it in place.
3. Properly position the control unit, checking that the wiring harness is not squeezed between the control unit and
its support.
4. Secure the control unit using the 3 retaining screws.
5. Connect the connectors to the air conditioner control unit.
6. Insert the air conditioner control unit into the center console’s housing, hooking it at the top onto the two clips
(A-Fig.1 ). Secure the air conditioner control unit at the bottom using the two socket head screws ( B-Fig.1).
7. Snap the center console’s bezel in place.
8. Connect the connectors ( C-Fig.2) of the light push-button panel (BJA) ( D-Fig.2) and then insert it into the center
console’s housing.
9. Connect the connectors of the buttons of the tunnel control panel ( E-Fig3) and then insert the panel.
• Reconnect the battery cables and then carry out the following operations:
• Resynchronization of remote controls
• Resynchronization of steering angle
• Resynchronization of power window zero position
• Use the LaRa system to program the air conditioner control unit (109000).

The “Basic setting” function allows you to make the initial settings on the selected control unit (E-GEAR).
The settings are divided into 7 different block numbers (Routines). Clutch Kiss Point Self tuning (Routine 1)

Routine 1 is performed when: • the clutch is replaced
• the E-gear control unit is replaced
• the gearbox is removed and reassembled
• Turn the ignition key to ON.
• Connect the computer to the diagnosis outlet OBDII
• Select routine 1 inside the block number ( A-Fig.9).
• Start the engine and bring water temperature to > 60°C.
• Start the connection (
) and press the start push-button ( B-Fig.9).
Routine 1 readapts the position of the clutch and calculates the correct Kiss Point value.
line 1 displays the operation result:
0 = positive result (Kiss Point successfully calculated)
255 = non-compliant result
line 2 displays the Kiss Point value at the end of the procedure
line 3 displays the engine speed, expressed in rpm
line 4 displays the clutch speed, expressed in rpm (the value ranges between 0 and 130); the speed at the time
when the clutch starts to transmit the engine’s motion.
The system performs the approach operation 10 times in order to properly calibrate the Kiss Point
value.
In order to store the Kiss Point value that has just been calculated in the system, turn the ignition key to OFF and
wait about one minute to allow the control unit to turn itself off (check this value in MWB 10).

Grid Self tuning (Routine 2)

Routine 2 is performed when: • the clutch is replaced
• the E-gear control unit is replaced
• the gearbox is removed and reassembled
• Turn the ignition key to ON.
• Connect the computer to the diagnosis outlet OBDII
• Select routine 2 inside the block number ( A-Fig.10).
• Start the connection (
) and press the start push-button ( B-Fig.10).
Routine 2 lets you set the engagement /selection grid regarding the gears.
line 1 the values “1” and “2” indicating the odd and even gears, respectively, that are engaged are displayed
intermittently during operation.
it displays the following values at the end of the operation:
14 = positive result (engagement /selection grid performed)
8 = non-compliant result (grid not performed due to electrical problems)
9 = non-compliant result (grid not performed because idle gears are not found)
line 2 displays the operation result:
0 = unacceptable grid
1 = acceptable grid
In order to store the grid value, turn the ignition key to OFF and wait for approx. 1 minute to allow the control unit to
turn off (check this value in MWB 64).
