When leaving the vehicle, alway st ake the
SmartKey with you and lock the vehicle. Never
leave children unsupervised in the vehicle.
The memory function can be used at any time,
e.g. even when the SmartKey is not in the igni-
tion lock.
Storing settings With the memory function, you can store up to
three differen ts ettings, e.g. for three different
people.
The following settings are stored as as ingle
memory preset: R
seat and backres tp ositionR
driver's side: position of the exterior mirrors
on the driver's and front-passenger sides

Briefly press the M memory button and then
press preset position button 1 , 2 or 3 within
three seconds.
The settings are stored in the selected preset

Press and hold the relevant preset position
button 1 , 2 or 3 until the seat and exterior
mirrors are in the stored position.

The daytime running lamps improve the visibility
of your vehicl ed ur in gt he day. To do this, the
daytime running lamps functio nm us tb e
switched on using the on-board computer

If the engine is running and yo ut ur nt he light
switch to the ` or X position, the manual
setting st ake precedence ove rt he daytime run-
ning lamps.
Low-beam headlamps Even if the light senso rd oe sn ot detect tha titi s
dark, the parking lamps and low-bea mh ead-
lamps switch on when the ignition is switched on
and the light switch is se ttot he X position.

Replacing the wiper blades
Important safety notes

If the windshield wiper sb egin to move while
yo ua re changing the wiper blades, yo uc ould
be trapped by the wiper arm .T here is ar is ko f

Alway ss witch off the windshield wiper sa nd
ignition before changing the wiper blades.
! To avoid damaging the wiper blades, make
sure that yo ut ouch only the wiper arm of the
wiper.

shield.

Hol dt he windshield wiper arm firmly when
yo uc hange the wiper blade. If yo ur elease the
windshield wiper arm withou taw ip er blade
and it falls onto the windshield ,t he windshield
may be damaged by the force of the impact.
Mercedes-Benz recommend st hat yo uh av e
the wiper blades changed at aq uali fied spe-
cialist workshop.
