Ve hicle settings are, forex ample, steering wheel
and mir ror settings, climate control and ambient
lighting. Forth e settings of the multimedia sys-
te m, you can select, forex ample, radio stations,
pr ev ious destinations as well as themes, sugges-
tions and favo urites. Fo
rre cur ring driving situations, such as long
drives on the mo torw ay,yo u can sa veyour prefer-
re d settings in a theme in theve hicle. In a theme
yo u can sa vethe display of the digital map, your
prefer redra dio station and prefer red drive pro-
gr am, forex ample.
The vehicle can learn the habits of the driver. It
th en o.ers suggestions forth e most probable
navigation destinations, media sources, radio sta-
tions or contacts. The pre-requirements forth at
are the selection of a pro/le, your consent tothe
re cording of data and su1cient collected data.

Install these updates, or else the security of your
multimedia system cannot be ensured.
A system update consists of thre e steps:
R Downloading or copying of the data requ ired
fo r installation
R Installation of the downloaded system update
R Activation of the downloaded system update
by restarting the system
% If automatic soTware updates are activated,
th e system updates will be downloaded auto-
maticall y.
The multimedia system pr ovides a message when
a system update is available.

Deep system updates access vehicle or system
settings and can therefore only be car ried out
when theve hicle is stationary and the ignition is

If th e download of a deep system update is com-
ple teand the downloaded system update is ready
fo r installation, you will be informed of this aTer
th e next ignition cycle, forex ample.
% Park theve hicle safely in a suitable location
before starting the installation.

R Notes and warnings ha vebeen read and
accep ted.
R The electric parking brake has been applied. If all
requ irements ha vebeen ful/lled, the down-
loaded system update is ins talled. The multimedia
system cannot be operated while the downloaded
system update is being ins talled and vehicle func-
tions are restric ted.
If errors should occur during the installation, the
multimedia system automatically attem ptsto
re store the pr evious version. If restoration of the
pr ev ious version is not possible, a symbol appears
on the media displa y.Consult a quali/ed special-
