Switching the fold-in mirrors when lock-
ing feature on/off
This function is only available when the vehicleis equipped with the electrical fold-in function.
This function is only available in Canada.
When you activate theAuto. Mirror Fold‐Auto. Mirror Fold‐ingingfunction, the exterior mirrors are folded inwhen the vehicle is locked.
If you have switched on theAuto. MirrorAuto. MirrorFoldingFoldingfunction and you fold in the exteriormirrors using the button on the door(Ypage 93), they will not fold out automati-cally. The exterior mirrors can then only be fol-ded out using the button on the door.

The RACE TIMER interrupts timing if you stopthe vehicle and turn the SmartKey to positionGin the ignition lock. If you turn the Smart-Key to position3and then pressvto con-
firmStartStart, timing is continued.
Resetting the current lap
XStop the RACE TIMER.
XPress theYorebutton to selectReset LapReset Lap.
XPressvto reset the lap time to "0".
Deleting all laps
If you switch off the engine, the RACE TIMER isreset to "0" after 30 seconds. All laps aredeleted.
You cannot delete individual stored laps. If youhave stopped 16 laps, the current lap does nothave to be reset.
XReset the current lap.
XPressvto confirmResetReset.Reset Race-Timer?Reset Race-Timer?appears in the multi-function display.
XPress thedbutton to selectYesYesandpress thevbutton to confirm.All laps are deleted.

Display messages
Introduction
General notes
Display messages appear in the multifunction display.
Display messages with graphic displays may be shown in simplified form in the Operator's Man-ual and may therefore differ from the multifunction display.
Please respond in accordance with the display messages and follow the additional notes in thisOperator's Manual.
Certain display messages are accompanied by an audible warning tone or a continuous tone.
When you stop and park the vehicle, please observe the notes on:
RHOLD function (Ypage 151)
RParking (Ypage 134)
Hiding display messages
XPress thevor8button on the steering wheel.The multifunction display hides the display message.
High-priority display messages are shown in red in the multifunction display. Some high-prioritydisplay messages cannot be hidden.
The multifunction display shows these messages continuously until the causes for the messageshave been remedied.
Message memory
The on-board computer saves certain display messages in themessage memory. You can callup the display messages:
XPress theYorebutton on the steering wheel to select theServ.Serv.menu.If there are display messages, the multifunction display shows2 Messages2 Messages, for example.
XPress thecordbutton to select the entry, e.g.2 Messages2 Messages.
XPressvto confirm.
XPress thecordbutton to scroll through the display messages.
When the ignition is switched off, all display messages are deleted, apart from some high-prioritydisplay messages. Once the causes of the high-priority display messages have been rectified, thecorresponding display messages are also deleted.

To release:

If the electric parking brake still cannot be released:
XDo not drive on.
XConsult a qualified specialist workshop.
The redI(USA only) or$(Canada only) indicator lampflashes and the yellow$warning lamp lights up.
The electric parking brake is malfunctioning.
To release:
XSwitch off the ignition and turn it back on.
XRelease the electric parking brake manually.
To apply:
XSwitch off the ignition and turn it back on.
XApply the electric parking brake manually.
If the redI(USA only) or$(Canada only) indicator lampcontinues to flash:
XDo not drive on.
XSecure the vehicle against rolling away (Ypage 289).
XShift the transmission to position].
XTurn the front wheels towards the curb.

XRemove the cause for the overvoltage or undervoltage, e.g. bycharging the battery or restarting the engine.
XApply or release the electric parking brake.
If it remains impossible to apply or release the electric parkingbrake:
XSwitch off the ignition and turn it back on.
XApply or release the electric parking brake.
If the electric parking brake still cannot be released:
XConsult a qualified specialist workshop.
If the electric parking brake still cannot be applied:
XVisit a qualified specialist workshop.

XPull over and stop the vehicle safely as soon as possible, payingattention to road and traffic conditions. Do not continue drivingunder any circumstances.
XSecure the vehicle against rolling away (Ypage 134).
XConsult a qualified specialist workshop.
XDo not add brake fluid. This does not correct the malfunction.

Active Brake Assist is temporarily inoperative.
Possible causes are:
Rthe radar sensor system is temporarily inoperative, e.g. due toelectromagnetic radiation emitted by nearby TV or radio stationsor other sources of electromagnetic radiation
Rthe system is outside the operating temperature range
Rthe on-board voltage is too low
When the causes stated above no longer apply, the display messagedisappears.
Active Brake Assist is operational again.
If the display message does not disappear:
XPull over and stop the vehicle safely as soon as possible, payingattention to road and traffic conditions.
XSecure the vehicle against rolling away (Ypage 134).
XRestart the engine.
