use an outlet that is protected from waterentering.•Do not perform charging with the carcover.•Do not connect or disconnect the plugand connector with wet hands.•Do not charge the battery if there is arisk of lightning.
zWhen the EV charging cable or the plugare damaged or it cannot connect byentering a foreign substance, do not con-nect the EV charging cable by force. zWhile it is normal for the connector andcharging cable to become warm duringcharging, discontinue use immediately ifthe connector or charging cable becomeshot to the touch. zWhile it is normal for the control box tobecome warm during
charging, discon-
tinue use immediately if the control boxbecomes hot to the touch. zIf abnormal smells are detected or thevehicle produces smoke, quickly stopcharging.WA R N I N G

1. Firmly apply the parking brake, press theelectrical parking switch, then shift theselect position in “P” (PARK) position.2. Turn off electrical equipment such aslamps and put the operation mode of thepower switch in OFF.3. Push the rear portion of the charging lid(A) until it clicks, and open the charginglid.
4. Press the tab (B) to open the inner lid (C).
NOTE
zThe charging port courtesy lamp illuminat-ing time can be adjusted.For details, please consult a MITSUBISHIMOTORS Authorised Service Point. zWhen the select position is not in “P”(PARK) position, the charging port courtesylamp does not illuminate when the charginglid is opened. zIf the MITSUBISHI Remote Control is oper-ated when the charging port courtesy lamp isoff, the lamp may illuminate.

WA R N I N G zIt could cause electric leak, a fire or elec-tric shock by entering water or dust intothe normal charge port. zDo not touch the metal terminal of thenormal charge port (D) and the normalcharge connector.Doing so could cause an electric shockand/or malfunction.NOTE
zThere is a hole on the charge port for waterdrainage. If this hole
is blocked and water
gets trapped in the charge port, do notcharge. Please contact a MITSUBISHIMOTORS Authorised Service Point. zIf the charge port is frozen, melt the ice usinga hair drier. Forcing the charge connector toconnect while frozen could result in mal-function.

8. Make sure that the charging indicator (H)on the instrument cluster is illuminated.If the charging indicator is not illumi-nated, charging has not started.Make sure that the normal charge port andthe plug are correctly connected, and per-form charging from Step 5 again.
9. Charging is complete when the chargingindicator turns off. Pull out the normalcharge connector while pressing the but-ton (K).
10. Close the inner lid and press the rear of
the normal charging lid until it clicks toclose it.
11. Remove the charging cable plug from the
outlet.

zWhen the normal charge connector is con-nected to the charge port, the charging indi-cator will blink. When charging is started,the charging indicator is illuminated. zIf one of the doors is opened or the multi-information display switch is operated, thedrive battery level display (I) appears in themulti-information disp
lay and indicates the
drive battery level. In addition, when theremaining time is less than 1 hour, the pre-dicted charging time display (J) appears --:--and does not indicate a malfunction.

CAUTION zBe sure to check the normal charge connec-tor is removed from the normal charge port.Since it will change into the state which canbe started the vehicle when the power switchis operated if the normal charge connectordoes not locked completely, resulting in anunexpected accident.NOTE
zCharging can be stopped half way. In thiscase, also, pull out the normal charge con-nector while pressing the button. Pressingthe manual stop button on the control boxcan also stop charging.Refer to “EV charging cable” on page 3-5.NOTE
zMake sure that the inner lid is completelyclosed.If the normal charging lid is forcibly closedwithout completely cl
osing inner lid, the
hinge on the inner lid may be broken.

The electronic immobilizer is designed toreduce significantly the possibility of vehicletheft. The purpose of the system is to immo-bilize the vehicle if an invalid start isattempted. A valid start attempt can only beachieved by using a key “registered” to theimmobilizer system.

Press the remote control switch, and all doorsand the tailgate will be locked or unlocked asdesired. It is also possible to operate the out-side rear-view mirrors.
Press the LOCK switch (1). All the doors andthe tailgate will be locked. The turn-signallamps will blink once when the doors and thetailgate are locked.Press the UNLOCK switch (2). All the doorsand the tailgate will be unlocked. If the doorsand tailgate are unlocked when the front roomlamp switch is in the “DOOR” position or therear room lamp switch is in the middle (

All the keys have to be re-reg-istered in the immobiliser computer unit. Theimmobilizer can register as follows.•Keyless operation key: up to 4 differentkeysCAUTION zDo not modify or add parts to the immobi-lizer system. Doing so could cause theimmobilizer to malfunction.

Within 30 seconds of locking the doors andtailgate using the LOCK switch (1), press theLOCK switch twice rapidly to fold the out-side rear-view mirrors.
Within 30 seconds of unlocking the doors andtailgate using the UNLOCK switch (2), pressthe UNLOCK switch twice rapidly to returnthe outside rear-view mirrors to theirextended positions.The outside rear-view mirrors are not initiallyset to work as described above. If you wantthem to work as described above, you need toset them so that they do not retract/extendwhen the doors and tailgate arelocked/unlocked using the keyless entry sys-tem or keyless operation function.Refer to “Starting and driving: Outside rear-view mirrors” on page 7-7.For details, please consult a MITSUBISHIMOTORS Authorised Service Point.In a vehicle equipped with the MitsubishiMulti-Communication System (MMCS), it ispossible to change the setting by means ofscreen operations.Refer to the separate owner’s manual fordetails.

The door and tailgate unlock function can beset to the following two conditions.Each time the door and tailgate unlock func-tion is set, a chime will sound to tell you thecondition of the door and tailgate unlockfunction.1. Put the operation mode in OFF.2. Place the combination headlamps and dip-per switch in the “OFF” position, andleave the driver’s door open.3. Press the LOCK switch (1) for 4 to 10seconds and press the UNLOCK switch(2) during this time.
4. Release in sequence the LOCK andUNLOCK switches within 10 seconds ofpressing the LOCK switch in step 3.

Before replacing the battery, remove staticelectricity from your body by touching ametal grounded object.
zThe keyless entry system does not operatewhen the door or tailgate is open. zThe remote control switch will operatewithin about 4 m from the vehicle. However,the operating range of the remote controlswitch may change if the vehicle is locatednear a power station,
or radio/TV broadcast-
ing station. zIf either of the following problems occurs,the battery may be exhausted.•The remote control switch is operated at thecorrect distance from the vehicle, but thedoors and tailgate are
