wheel isreplaced, theTPMS willnot

mately 1minute. Thelight will
remain onafter 1minute. Contact

P position selecting warninglight

The warning lightblinks inred when theignition
switch ispushed tostop theengine withthe
shift lever inany position excepttheP(Park)

If this warning appears, movetheshift lever to

Seat beltwarning light

The light andchime remind youtofasten seat
belts. Thelight illuminates whenevertheignition
switch isplaced inthe ON position, andwill
remain illuminated untilthedriver's seatbeltis
fastened. Atthe same time,thechime willsound
for about 6seconds unlessthedriver's seatbelt
is securely fastened.
The seat beltwarning lightforthe front
passenger willilluminate ifthe seat beltisnot

TPMS malfunctions mayoccur foravariety of
reasons, including theinstallation ofreplace-
ment oralternate tiresorwheels onthe vehicle
that prevent theTPMS fromfunctioning properly.
Always checktheTPMS malfunction telltale
after replacing oneormore tiresorwheels on
your vehicle toensure thatthereplacement or
alternate tiresandwheels allowtheTPMS to
continue tofunction properly.

. The CHECK TIREPRES warning message
is not displayed ifthe low tirepressure
warning lightilluminates toindicate aTPMS
malfunction.
. Tire pressure risesandfalls depending on
the heat caused bythe vehicle's operation
and theoutside temperature. Lowoutside
temperature canlower thetemperature of
the airinside thetire which cancause a
lower tireinflation pressure. Thismaycause
the low tirepressure warninglightto
illuminate. Ifthe warning lightilluminates inlow
ambient temperature, checkthetire
pressure forallfour tires.

TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYS-

This vehicle isequipped withtheTire Pressure
Monitoring System(TPMS).It monitors tire
pressure ofall tires except thespare. When
the low tirepressure warninglightislit, and the
CHECK TIREPRES (pressure) warningmes-
sage isdisplayed inthe vehicle information
display ,one ormore ofyour tires issignificantly
under-inflated. Ifthe vehicle isbeing driven with
low tirepressure, theTPMS willactivate and
warn youofitby the low tirepressure warning
light. Thissystem willactivate onlywhen the
vehicle isdriven atspeeds above16MPH (25

Stopping thevehicle

1. Safely movethevehicle offthe road and
away fromtraffic.
2. Turn onthe hazard warning flashers.
3. Park onalevel surface andapply theparking
brake.
4. Continuously Variable Transmission
(CVT) models:
Move theshift lever tothe P(Park) position.
Manual Transmission (MT)models:
Move theshift lever tothe R(Reverse)
position.
5. Turn offthe engine.
6. Raise thehood towarn other traffic, andto
signal professional roadassistance person-
nel that youneed assistance.
7. Have allpassengers getoutofthe vehicle
and stand inasafe place, awayfromtraffic
and clear ofthe vehicle.

Summer tires

icy conditions, NISSANrecommends theuse of
SNOW tiresorALL SEASON tiresonallfour
wheels.
Snow tires

If snow tiresareneeded, itis necessary toselect
tires equivalent insize andload rating tothe
original equipment tires.Ifyou donot, itcan
adversely affectthesafety andhandling ofyour
vehicle.
Generally ,snow tireswillhave lower speed
ratings thanfactory equipped tiresandmay not match
thepotential maximum vehiclespeed.
Never exceed themaximum speedratingofthe
tire.
If you install snowtires,theymust bethe same
size, brand, construction andtread pattern onall
four wheels.
For additional tractiononicy roads, studded
tires maybeused. However, someU.S.states
and Canadian provinces prohibittheiruse.
Check local,stateandprovincial lawsbefore
installing studdedtires.Skidandtraction cap-
abilities ofstudded snowtires,onwet ordry
surfaces, maybepoorer thanthatofnon-
studded snowtires.
TIRE CHAINS

Use oftire chains maybeprohibited according
to location. Checkthelocal lawsbefore instal-
ling tirechains. Wheninstalling tirechains, make
sure theyarethe proper sizeforthe tires onyour
vehicle andareinstalled according tothe chain
manufacturer's suggestions.Useonly SAE
Class Schains. ClassªSºchains areused on
vehicles withrestricted tiretovehicle clearance.
V ehicles thatcanuseClass ªSºchains are
designed tomeet theSAE standard minimum
clearances betweenthetireand theclosest
vehicle suspension orbody component required
to accommodate theuse ofawinter traction
device (tirechains orcables) .The minimum clearances
aredetermined usingthefactory
equipped tiresize. Other typesmaydamage
your vehicle. Usechain tensioners whenre-
commended bythe tirechain manufacturer to
ensure atight fit.Loose endlinks ofthe tire
chain mustbesecured orremoved toprevent
the possibility ofwhipping actiondamage tothe
fenders orunderbody .If possible, avoidfully
loading yourvehicle whenusingtirechains. In
addition, driveatareduced speed.Otherwise,
your vehicle maybedamaged and/orvehicle
handling andperformance maybeadversely
affected.
Tire chains mustbeinstalled onlyonthe
front wheels andnotonthe rear wheels.

Do not use tirechains ondry roads. Driving with
tire chains insuch conditions cancause damage
to the various mechanisms ofthe vehicle dueto

Tire rotation

As soon aspossible, tightenthewheel
nuts tothe specified torquewitha
torque wrench.
Wheel nuttightening torque:
80 ft-lb (108 N´m) The
wheel nutsmust bekept tigh-
tened tothe specification atall times.
It is recommended thatwheel nutsbe
tightened tothe specification ateach
tire rotation interval.

and adjust thetire pressure.

Retighten thewheel nutswhen
the vehicle hasbeen driven for
