.Show Incoming TextSelect ªDriver Onlyº to have incoming
text messages displayed only in the
vehicle information display. Select ªBothº
to have incoming text messages dis-
played in both the vehicle information
display and the center display screen.
Select ªNoneº to have no display of
incoming text messages.
.Edit Custom MessagesSelect to set a custom message that will
be available with the standard options
when sending a text message. To set a
custom message, send a text message to
your own phone number while the phone
is connected to the system. Three
custom messages can be set. Custom
messages can only be set while the
vehicle is stationary.
.Auto ReplySelect to turn on or off the Auto Reply
function. When enabled, the vehicle will
automatically send a predefined text
message to the sender when a text
message is received while driving.
.Auto Reply Message
Select to choose the message that is
sent when the Auto Reply function is
enabled. Choose from ªI'm Drivingº or
one of the three custom messages
stored in the system.
.Vehicle Signature On/OffSelect to choose whether or not the vehicle signature is added to outgoing
text messages from the vehicle. This
message cannot be changed or custo-
mized.

CONNECTING PROCEDUREGUID-3CBEE362-984A-458D-B2F1-3A1853EC8CAENOTE:
The connecting procedure must be per-
formed when the vehicle is stationary. If
the vehicle starts moving during the pro-
cedure, the procedure will be cancelled.
1. Push the
button on the control panel.
2. Touch the ªSettingsº key.
3. Touch the ªPhone & Bluetoothº key.
4. Touch the ªConnect New Deviceº key.
5. Initiate the connecting process from the handset. The system will display the mes-
sage: ªIs PIN XXXXXX displayed on your
Bluetooth device?º. If the PIN is displayed on your Bluetooth

To send one of the custom messages, say
ªCustom Messagesº. If more than one
custom message is stored, the system will
prompt for the number of the desired
custom message. For more information on
setting and managing custom text mes-
sages, see ªPhone settingsº (P.4-96) .

2. Say ªPhoneº after the tone.
3. Say ªRead Textº after the tone.
The text message, sender and delivery time are
shown on the screen. Use the tuning switch to
scroll through all text messages if more than one
are available. Push the
button to exit the text
message screen. Push the

access the following options for replying to the
text message:

4. Touch the ªPhone Settingsº key and adjust the following settings as desired:
. Sort Phonebook By:
Touch ªFirst Nameº or ªLast Nameº to
choose how phonebook entries are alpha-
betically displayed on the screen.
. Use Phonebook From:
Touch ªHandsetº to use the phone's phone-
book. Select ªSIMº to use the phonebook on
the SIM card. Touch ªBothº to use both
sources.
. Download Phonebook Now:
Touch to download the phonebook to the
vehicle from the chosen source.
. Record Name for Phonebook Entry:
Touch to record a name for a phonebook
entry for use with the NISSAN Voice
Recognition System.
. Phone Notifications for:
Touch ªDriverº to have phone notifications
shown in the vehicle information display.
Touch ªBothº to have phone notifications shown in both the vehicle information dis-
play and the center display screen.
. Text Messaging:
Touch to toggle the text message function-
ality on or off.
. Show Incoming Text for:
Touch ªDriverº to have incoming text notifi-
cations shown in the vehicle information
display. Touch ªBothº to have text notifica-
tions shown in both the vehicle information
display and the center display screen. Touch
ªOffº to turn off all text notifications.
. Auto Reply:
Touch to toggle the auto reply functionality
on or off.
. Auto Reply Message:
Touch to indicate preferred message to be
sent when ªAuto Replyº function is acti-
vated.
. Use Vehicle's Signature:
Touch to toggle on or off the addition of the
vehicle signature to outgoing messages
. Custom Text Messages:
Touch this option to select a custom
message to edit. There are 4 customer
message slots available.
GUID-51334051-21B0-416B-9031-9372BED64572The NISSAN Voice Recognition system allows
hands-free operation of the systems equipped
on this vehicle, such as the phone and naviga-
tion systems.
To operate NISSAN Voice Recognition, push the
button located on the steering wheel.
When prompted, speak the command for the
system you wish to activate. The command given
is picked up by the microphone and performed
when it is properly recognized. NISSAN Voice
Recognition will provide a voice response as
well as a message in the center display to inform
you of the command results.
