. After the command ªCallº, a name registered in the phonebook can be spoken for recognition, while a phone number can be spoken after the command
ªDialº. Names from the phonebook cannot be spoken after the command ªDialº.
. Names in the phonebook can be recognized when only a first name is spoken or when spoken in the order of first name and then the last name. The
system does not recognize the commands when only a last name is spoken or if the phonebook name was pronounced with last name first and then the
first name.
. The system has the function to read the text messages out loud, but misreading may occur in some cases.
. Even if nicknames such as ªMomº or ªDadº are registered in the cellular phone, the voice recognition system recognizes only names. To have the system
recognize the nicknames, register the entries in the [Quick Dial] from the Phone menu.

1st Command 2nd Command 3rd Command ActionWhere am I? Displays the information of the current position.
Operating tips for navigation command operation:
. Depending on the area where the vehicle is located (such as in Puerto Rico, Guam, etc.) , the system may not recognize the general navigation
commands.
. Points Of Interest:
Ð The POI commands searches for Points of Interest registered in the navigation system.
Ð When searching for POI, the search is conducted within the current state/province or the state/province specified by ªChange Stateº command. To change the state/province, speak ªChange Stateº after the prompt and then after the next prompt, speak the name of the state/province for which
you wish to conduct the POI search. The state/province will be reset to the current state each time the voice recognition session is restarted.
Ð The following POI main categories cannot be used for ªPoints of Interestº search with voice command operations while all registered categories can be recognized for ªNearbyº search:
Others, Repair, Rental Car Agency, Parking, Police Station, Administration, ATM, Other Leisure, Bars & Clubs, Other Dealers, Motorcycle
Dealership, Medical Offices, Post Office, Auto Parts, Banquets & Food Delivery, Carwash, Copying, Day Care, Fire Station, Laundry & Cleaners,
Office Supply, Other Services, Other Shopping, Package Delivery
. Street Address:
Ð Alphabet letters cannot be included when speaking a house number. When a specified house number cannot be found, a location representing the address will be displayed.
Ð Speak in a natural conversational speed without pausing between words for better recognition.
Ð When the system recognizes the command incorrectly, correct the search conditions using commands such as ªChange Stateº, ªChange Cityº, ªChange Streetº or ªChange House Numberº.

CURRENT VEHICLE LOCATIONENJN1502-120906-3DB2B298-7959-42E7-A529-EBC2E6E1A510
DISPLAY OF CURRENT VEHICLE
LOCATION
ENJN1502-120906-AC334D4E-00C5-4F0B-889E-D50DC5D61202This navigation system combines the data
obtained from the vehicle (by gyro sensor) and
from GPS (Global Positioning System) satellites
to calculate the current location of the vehicle.
This position is then displayed throughout route
guidance to a destination.
WHAT IS GPS (Global Positioning
System)?
ENJN1502-120906-A33AD639-F86B-4DA8-B59E-2726CD899634GPS is a position detecting system that uses
satellites deployed by the U.S. government. This
navigation system receives radio signals from
three or more different satellites that orbit
13,049 miles (21,000 km) above the earth in
space, and detect the position of the vehicle by
utilizing the principle of triangulation.
Positioning adjustmentGUID-397DB4FB-31B2-4B95-A408-0734E5AE4532When the system judges that the vehicle position
is not accurate based on vehicle speed and gyro
sensor data calculations, the system will auto-
matically adjust the position of the vehicle icon
using GPS signals.
Receiving signals from GPS satellitesGUID-BE69F8F9-5318-4090-9ED5-74A3046914D7The reception of GPS signals can be weak,
depending on the environment. Vehicles in the
following areas/environments may not receive
GPS signals.

In areas with numerous tall buildings

INFO:
The GPS antenna is located on the instrument
panel inside the vehicle. Do not place any
objects, especially cellular phones or transcei-
vers, on the instrument panel. Because the
strength of the GPS signal is approximately one
billionth of that of TV waves, phones and
transceivers will affect or may totally disrupt the
signal.
