TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS

When you are inspecting the circuit by gently shaking (or twisting) the suspicious connectors, compo-
nents and harness in the DTC Confirmation Procedure, the moment a malfunction is found the DTC/1st
trip DTC will be displayed. (Refer to “INCIDENT SIMULATION TESTS” in GI-24, "
How to Perform Effi-
cient Diagnosis for an Electrical Incident" .)
2. “MANU TRIG”
If the malfunction is displayed as soon as “DATA MONITOR” is selected, reset CONSULT-II to “MANU
TRIG”. By selecting “MANU TRIG” you can monitor and store the data. The data can be utilized for fur-
ther diagnosis, such as a comparison with the value for the normal operating condition.

 Specification data are reference values.
 Specification data are output/input values which are detected or supplied by the ECM at the connector.
* Specification data may not be directly related to their components signals/values/operations.
i.e. Adjust ignition timing with a timing light before monitoring IGN TIMING, because the monitor may show the specification data in
spite of the ignition timing not being adjusted to the specification data. This IGN TIMING monitors the data calculated by the ECM
according to the signals input from the camshaft position sensor and other ignition timing related sensors.

SETTING OF LIMIT SWITCH (DRIVER SIDE)
If any of the following work has been done, set the limit switch (integrated in the motor).
Removal and installation of the regulator assembly.
Removal and installation of the motor from the regulator.
Operate the regulators as a unit.
Installation of the new glass.
Installation of the new glass run.
Resetting
After removing the module assembly from the door panel, follow the steps below.
1. Remove the regulator assembly from the module assembly.
2. Remove the power window motor from the regulator assembly.
3. Connect the door harness to the power window motor, and rotate the motor unite for more than 5 turns in
glass raising direction.
4. Install the power window motor to the regulator.
5. Install the regulator assembly to the module.
6. Install the module assembly to the door panel, and install the door glass.
7. Raise the glass to the top position.
CAUTION:
Do not operate the glass automatically to raise the glass to the top.
FITTING INSPECTION
Make sure the glass is securely fit into the glass run groove.
Lower the glass slightly [approx. 10 to 20 mm (0.39 to 0.79 in)] and make sure the clearance to the sash is
parallel. If the clearance between the glass and sash is not parallel, loosen the regulator mounting bolts,
guide rail mounting bolts, and glass and guide rail mounting bolts to correct the glass position.

SUNROOF

The operation condition is the following.
automatic close operation and tilt down when ignition switch is in the ON position
automatic close operation and tilt down during retained power operation.
MEMORY RESET PROCEDURE
1. Please observe the following instructions while confirming the sunroof operation.
NOTE:
Do not disconnect the electronic power while the sunroof is operating or within 5 seconds after the sunroof
stops.
2. Initialization of system should be conducted after the following conditions.
When the battery is out or connector is disconnected while sunroof is operating or within 5 seconds
after sunroof stops.
When the sunroof motor is changed.
When the sunroof does not operate normally. (Incomplete initialization conditions)
INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE
If the sunroof does not close or open automatically, use the following procedure to return sunroof operation to
normal.
1. Press and hold the switch to the CLOSE/UP side for approximately 10 seconds.
2. The glass lid will move toward tilt up direction and will be stopped mechanically, and then it will be auto-
matically fully closed. Then glass lid will be automatically operated in sequence of “tilt up” → “tilt down” →
“slide open” → “slide close”. (Keep pressing the switch during this operation)
3. After the glass lid stops, release the switch after 5 seconds.
4. If sunroof switch operates normally, this initialization is done.

MEMORY STORING AND KEYFOB INTERLOCK STORING
Store the 2 driving positions and shifts to the stored driving position with the memory switch.
Keyfob interlock function is set simultaneously with setting driving position memory. It can set driving posi-
tion to memory position.
NOTE:
If another keyfob interlock function setting is performed by same key, newly registered setting is valid.
If new memory string is performed to memory switch that already set keyfob interlock function, keyfob
interlock function setting is reset.
If key does not set previously, keyfob interlock function cannot set.

The settings of the automatic driving positioner system can be changed, using CONSULT-II.

It is possible to set sliding driver seat for entry/exit of vehicle by pressing set switch.
NOTE:
After the setting is registered, the new setting is effective, even if the battery is disconnected.
CHECK POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND
1. CHECK FUSE
Check if any of the following fuses in the BCM are blown.
Check 50A fusible link (letter M , located in the fuse and fusible link box.)
Check 15A fuse [No.17, located in the fuse block (J/B)]
Check 10A fuse [No.1, located in the fuse block (J/B)]
Check 10A fuse [No.6, located in the fuse block (J/B)]
NOTE:
Refer to SE-16, "
Component Parts and Harness Connector Location" .
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 2.
NG >> If fuse is blown, be sure to eliminate cause of malfunction before installing new fuse. Refer to PG-
3, "POWER SUPPLY ROUTING CIRCUIT" .

DIAGNOSIS MODE FOR CONSULT-II
“SELF-DIAG [CURRENT]”
A current Self-diagnosis result (also indicated by the number of warning lamp flashes in the Diagnosis
mode) is displayed on the CONSULT-II screen in real time. This refers to a malfunctioning part requiring
repairs.
“SELF-DIAG [PAST]”
Diagnosis results previously stored in the memory are displayed on the CONSULT-II screen. The stored
results are not erased until memory erasing is executed.
“TROUBLE DIAG RECORD”
With TROUBLE DIAG RECORD, diagnostic results previously erased by a reset operation can be dis-
played on the CONSULT-II screen.
“ECU DISCRIMINATED NO.”
The diagnosis sensor unit for each vehicle model is assigned
with its own, individual classification number. This number is dis-
played on the CONSULT-II screen, as shown. When replacing
the diagnosis sensor unit, refer to the part number for the com-
patibility. After installation, replacement with a correct unit can
be checked by confirming this classification number on the
CONSULT-II screen.
After repair, make sure the discriminated number of diagnosis
sensor unit installed to vehicle are same. Refer to SRS-47,
"ECU DISCRIMINATED NO." .
HOW TO CHANGE SELF-DIAGNOSIS MODE WITH CONSULT-II
From User Mode to Diagnosis Mode
After selecting “AIR BAG” on the “SELECT SYSTEM” screen, User mode automatically changes to Diagnosis
mode.
From Diagnosis Mode to User Mode
To return to User mode from Diagnosis mode, touch “BACK” key of CONSULT-II until “SELECT SYSTEM”
appears. Then diagnosis mode automatically changes to User mode.
