. when theengine hoodisopened.
. when thedriver seatbeltisunfastened and
the driver's doorisopened (MTmodel) .
. when thegear shiftlever isnot inthe Neutral

It may take some timeuntil theStop/Start or
Idling StopSystem activates underthefollowing
conditions:
. when thebattery isdischarged.
. when theoutside temperature islow orhigh.
. when thebattery isreplaced orthe battery
terminal isdisconnected forextended peri-
ods and then reconnected.
NO TE:
When theStop/Start SystemorIdling Stop
indicator illuminates, theengine startsrunning
automatically underatleast oneofthe following
conditions:
. the brake pedalisreleased withtheshift
lever inthe ªDº(Drive) orªNº (Neutral)
position (forCVT model) .
. theshift lever isplaced inthe ªDº(Drive) or
ªRº (Reverse) positionfromtheªNº(Neutral)
or ªPº (Park) position (forCVT model) .
. the driver's seatbeltisunfastened, orthe
driver's doorisopen (forCVT model) .
. the battery voltage becomes low(due to
electrical loadfrom other vehicle systems
like headlights, heaters,etc.,or auxiliary
devices connected tothe 12volt socket
inside thevehicle) .
. the vehicle speedisabove about2km/h (1
MPH) .
. thefront defogger isoperated.
. when thetemperature insidethevehicle is
too high orlow. (When theairconditioner is
off, theStop/Start SystemorIdling Stop
System willoperate.)
