Safety
Airbags
System designed to maximise the safety of the
occupants (with the exception of the rear centrepassenger) in the event of violent collisions.
The airbags supplement the action of the force-
limiting seat belts (with the exception of the centre rear passenger).
If a collision occurs, the electronic detectors record and analyse the front and side impacts sustained in the impact detection zones:
- in the case of a serious impact, the airbagsare deployed instantly and contribute
towards better protection of the occupants
of the vehicle
(with the exception of the rear centre passenger); immediately after theimpact, the airbags deflate rapidly so that
they do not hinder visibility or the exit of the
occupants,
- in the case of a minor or rear impact
or in cer tain roll-over conditions, the
airbags will not be deployed; the seat belt
alone contributes towards ensuring your protection in these situations.
The airbags do not operate whenthe ignition is switched off.
This equipment will only deploy once.
If a second impact occurs (during thesame or a subsequent accident), theairbag will not be deployed again.
Deployment of the airbag(s) is accompanied by a slight emission of smoke and a noise, due to theactivation of the pyrotechnic cartridgeincorporated in the system.This smoke is not harmful, but sensitiveindividuals may experience slight irritation.
The noise of the detonation may result in a slight loss of hearing for a shorttime.

Front airbags


Deployment

The airbags are deployed, except the passenger's
front airbag if it has been deactivated, in the event of
a serious front impact to all or par t of the front impact
z
one A , in the longitudinal centreline of the vehicle on
a horizontal plane and directed from the front to the
rear of the vehicle.
The front airbag inflates between the thorax and head
of the front occupant of the vehicle and the steeringwheel, driver's side, and the dashboard, passenger's
side to cushion their forward movement.
System which protects the driver and frontpassenger in the event of a serious front impact
in order to limit the risk of injury to the head and
thorax.
The driver's airbag is fitted in the centre of the steering wheel; the front passenger's airbag isfitted in the dashboard above the glove box.

Safety

Deactivation
This warning lamp comes on in theinstrument panel when the ignition is
on and until the airbag is reactivated.
To assure the safety of your child,the passenger's front airbag must be deactivated when you install a "rear facing" child seat on the front passenger seat.Other wise, the child would risk beingseriously injured or killed if the airbag were deployed.


If even one of the two airbag warning lamps comes on continuously, donot install a child seat on the frontpassenger seat.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or qualified workshop.

Reactivation
When you remove the child seat, with the ignition on , turn the switch to the "ON"position to reactivate the airbag and so assure
the safety of your front passenger in the event
of an impact.

Operating fault
If this warning lamp comes on in the instrument panel, accompanied byan audible warning and a message
in the screen, contact a PEUGEOT
dealer or a qualified workshop to have the system checked. The airbags may no longer be
deployed in the event of a serious impact.
If this warnin
g lamp flashes, contacta PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified
workshop. The passenger's front airbag may no longer be deployed in
the event of a serious impact.
Only the passenger's front airbag can be deactivated:)Inser t the key into the passenger airbag deactivation switch,)turn it to the "OFF"position, )then, remove the key keeping the switch in
the new position.

Electric child lock

Remote control system to prevent opening of the rear doors using their interior controls.


Switching on
)
With the ignition on, press this button.
The indicator lamp in the button comes on,
accompanied by a message to confirm that thechild lock is on.
This indicator lamp remains on until the child
lock is switched off.
It is still possible to open the doors from the
outs
ide and operate the rear electric windowsfrom the driver's control panel.


Switching off
)With the ignition on, press this button again.
The indicator lamp in the button goes off,
accompanied by a message to confirm that the
child lock is off.
This indicator lamp remains off while the child
l
ock is switched off.

Any other status of the indicator lampindicates a fault with the electric child lock.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.


This system is independent and in nocircumstances does it take the place of
the central locking control. Check the status of the child lock eachtime you switch on the ignition.
Always remove the key from the ignition when leaving the vehicle, even for a short time.

Locking
)Using the ignition key, turn the red control
as far as it will go:
- to the left on the left-hand rear door,
- to the right on the right-hand rear door.


Unlocking
)Using the ignition key, turn the red control as far as it will go:
- to the right on the left-hand rear door,
- to the left on the right-hand rear door.


Mechanical s
ystem to prevent opening of the rear door using its interior lever.
The control is located on the edge of each rear door.

Repair procedure


1. Sealing
)
Uncoil the white pipe G
fully.)
Unscrew the cap from the white pipe.)
Connect the white pipe to the valve of the
tyre to be repaired.

)
Connect the compressor's electric plug to
the vehicle's 12 V socket. ) Star t the vehicle and leave the engine
running.
Take care, this product is harmful (e.g. ethylene-glycol, colophony...) if swallowedand causes irritation to the eyes.Keep this product out of the reach of children.

Avoid removing any foreign bodieswhich have penetrated into the tyre.
)Switch off the ignition.

)Turn the selector A
to the "sealant"position.)Check that the switch B
is in position "O".

Removing a wheel

Parking the vehicle

Immobilise the vehicle where it does notblock traffic: the ground must be level,stable and not slippery. Apply the parking brake, switch off the
ignition and engage first gear *
to blockthe wheels. Check that the parking brake warninglamps in the instrument panel come on.
The occupants must get out of the vehicle and wait where they are safe.
Never go underneath a vehicle raised using a jack; use an axle stand.

Practical information
To replace a fuse, you must: )use the special tweezer to extract the fuse
from its housing and check the condition of
its filament.)always replace the failed fuse with a fuse
of the same rating (same colour); using a
different rating could cause faults (risk of fire).
If the fuse fails again soon after replacement, have the vehicle's electrical system checked bya PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.


Changing a fuse

Before changing a fuse:
)the cause of the failure must be identified and rectified, )all electrical consumers must be switched
off,)the vehicle must be immobilised with the
ignition off,)identify the failed fuse using the tables and
layout drawings in the following pages.Good Failed
PEUGEOT will not accept responsibilityfor the cost incurred in repairing your vehicle or for rectifying malfunctions resulting from the installation of accessories not supplied and not
recommended by PEUGEOT andnot installed in accordance with itsinstructions, in par ticular when the combined consumption of all of the additional equipment connectedexceeds 10 milliamperes.


Installing electricalaccessories

Your vehicle's electrical system isdesigned to operate with standard or optional equipment.
Before installing other electrical equipment or accessories on your vehicle, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
The replacement of a fuse not shown in the tables below may cause a serious malfunction of your vehicle. Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.

Practical information
It is advisable to disconnect the battery if the vehicle is to be left unused for more than one month.
The batteries contain harmful substancessuch as sulphuric acid and lead. Theymust be disposed of in accordancewith regulations and must not, in any circumstances, be discarded withhousehold waste. Ta k e used remote control batteries andvehicle batteries to a special collection point.
Protect your eyes and face beforehandling the battery.
All operations on the battery must be carried out in a well ventilated area andaway from naked flames and sources of sparks, so as to avoid the risk of explosion or fire.Do not try to charge a frozen battery;the battery must first be thawed out toavoid the risk of explosion. If the battery has been frozen, before charging haveit checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop who will check thatthe internal components have not been damaged and the casing is not cracked, which could cause a leak of toxic andcorrosive acid.Do not reverse the polarity and use onlya 12 V charger.
Do not disconnect the terminals while the engine is running. Do not charge the batteries without disconnecting the terminals first. Wash your hands afterwards.
Do not push the vehicle to star t theengine if you have an electronic gearbox or automatic gearbox.







Before disconnecting the battery

Wait 2 minutes after switching off the ignition
before disconnecting the battery.
Close the windows and the doors beforedisconnecting the battery.

Following reconnection
of the battery
Following reconnection of the battery, switch on
the ignition and wait 1 minute before star ting topermit initialisation of the electronic systems. However, if problems remain following this
operation, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Referring to the corresponding section, you must yourself reinitialise:


- the remote control key,

- the on-board satellite navigation system.

Changing a wiper blade

Within one minute after switching off
the ignition, operate the wiper stalk to
position the wiper blades vertically on the
windscreen.


Removing

Raise the corresponding wiper arm. )
Unclip the wiper blade and remove it.



Fitting
)Put the corresponding new wiper blade inplace and clip it.
)Fold down the wiper arm carefully.



After fitting a front wiper

Checks
Low fuel level
When the fuel tank minimum level is reached this warning lamp comes on in the instrument panel. There remainsapproximately 5 litres
of fuel in the tank.
When the warning lamp flashes there is very little fuel remaining in the tank.
The key cannot be removed from the lock until the cap is refitted. Removing the filler cap may cause an inrush of air. This vacuum is per fectly normal and results from the sealing of
the system.



























Fuel tank
Fuel tank capacity: approximately 50 litres.

A self-adhesive label on the inner face of thefiller flap reminds you of the type of fuel to use
depending on your engine.
Additions of fuel must be of at least 5 litres to be registered by the fuel gauge.


Filling


To fill the tank safely: )the engine must be switched off,)open the fuel filler flap by pressing at
its rear, )inser t the key in the cap, then turn it to
the left,
With Stop & Star t, never refuel with the system in STOP mode; you must switch off the ignition with the key.
)remove the cap and hook it onto the cliplocated on the inside of the flap, )fill the tank, but do not continue after the
3rd cut- off of the pump ; this could causemalfunctions. You must re
fuel as soon as possible to avoid running out of fuel.
If you run out of fuel (Diesel), refer to the
"Running out of fuel - Diesel" section.
