RADIO RECEPTION
(AERIAL ADJUSTMENT)
On MW/LW, interference may be no-
ticed when passing underneath high
voltage power lines, under bridges or in
tunnels.
On FM, interference may be the result
of increasing distance from the trans-
m i t t e r , d e fl e c t i o n o f t h e s i g n a l b y o b s t a -
cles (mountains, hills, buildings, etc.),
or of being in an area not covered by a
transmitter.
Recommended position for the front
aerial for best reception (Saloon).
Your radio will be subject to phenomena
which do not affect domestic radio sets.
Both MW/LW and FM reception are
subject to various forms of interference,

Anti-theft system
T h e a u d i o e q u i p m e n t i s c o d e d i n s u c h
a way that it can only operate in your
v e h i c l e . I t w o u l d n o t w o r k i f fi t t e d i n a n -
other vehicle.
The anti-theft system is automatic
and requires no action on your part.
Press button C to increase the audio
e q u i p m e n t v o l u m e o r b u t t o n B to de-
crease it.
A continuous press of buttons B and C
adjusts the volume gradually.
AUDIO SETTINGS
Press button G several
times in succession to
access the bass (BASS) ,
treble (TREB) , loudness
(LOUD) , fader (FAD) ,
balance (BAL) and auto-
matic volume correction
settings.

Adjusting the treble
When "TREB" is displayed, press but-
ton H or I to change the setting.
- "TREB -9" for a minimum treble
setting,
- "TREB 0" for a standard setting,
- "TREB +9" f o r a m a x i m u m t r e b l e
setting.
Adjusting the loudness (LOUD)
This function automatically emphasises
bass and treble tones.
Press button H or I to switch the func-
tion on or off.
Note: bass, treble and loudness set-
t i n g s a r e s p e c i fi c t o e a c h s o u r c e . T h e y
can be set differently for the radio
o r C D .
The audio equipment can operate for
30 minutes without the ignition being
switched on.

Adjusting the front/rear sound
distribution (Fader)
When "FAD" is displayed, press

Button H increases the volume in the

Automatic station search

direction selected, you will obtain con-

If the TA t r a f fi c i n f o r m a t i o n p r o g r a m m e
is selected, only stations broadcasting
this type of programme are selected.
S e a r c h i n g f o r a s t a t i o n t a k e s p l a c e fi r s t
in "LO" sensitivity (selection of the most
powerful transmitters) during scanning
of the waveband, then in "DX" sensitiv-
i t y ( s e l e c t i o n o f t h e w e a k e s t a n d m o s t
distant transmitters).
To carry out a "DX" sensitivity search
directly, press button J or L twice. Manual station search
Press the
"MAN" button.

By continuing to press the button in the
direction selected, you will obtain con-
t i n u o u s s c r o l l i n g o f t h e f r e q u e n c y .
The scrolling stops as soon as the but-
ton is released.
Pressing the "MAN" button again re-
turns you to the automatic station
search.
Manual storing of stations

Press one of the buttons "1" to "6" for
more than two seconds.
The sound stops then becomes audible

Recalling stored stations
On each waveband, press one of the
buttons "1" to "6" b r i e fl y t o r e c a l l t h e
corresponding stored station.
Your radio automatically stores the
6 stations with the strongest signal on
FM . These stations are stored on the
FMast waveband.
I f i t i s n o t p o s s i b l e t o fi n d s i x s t a t i o n s , t h e
unused memories remain unchanged.

RDS *
Using the RDS on FM
The RDS (Radio Data System) allows
you to continue listening to the same
s t a t i o n , w h a t e v e r f r e q u e n c y i t i s u s i n g
in the region you are travelling through. Press the "RDS" button
b r i e fl y t o s w i t c h t h e f u n c -
tion on or off.
The multifunction screen will indicate:
- "RDS" if the function is selected,
- "(RDS)" if the function is selected
but not available.
RDS station following
The display indicates the name of the sta-
tion selected. When the RDS is selected,
the radio searches continuously for the
transmitter which is broadcasting the se-
lected station with the best reception.
T r a f fi c i n f o r m a t i o n p r o g r a m m e ( T A ) Regional following mode (REG)
W h e n t h e y a r e p a r t o f a n e t w o r k , c e r -
tain stations broadcast regional pro-
grammes in the various areas they
serve. The regional following mode
allows you to continue listening to the
same programme.
To do this, press the
"RDS" button for
more than two seconds to switch the
function on or off.
A n y t r a f fi c i n f o r m a t i o n a n n o u n c e m e n t
will be given priority, whatever source
y o u a r e l i s t e n i n g t o ( r a d i o , C D ) .
If you wish to interrupt a message,
press the
"TA" button; this switches the
function off.
N o t e : t h e v o l u m e o f t h e t r a f fi c i n f o r -
mation is independent of the volume
of normal radio listening. You can
adjust it using the volume button.
The setting will be stored and will be
used for subsequent messages.
Search by type of programme (PTY)
This allows you to listen to stations broad-
c a s t i n g a s p e c i fi c t y p e o f p r o g r a m m e
( N e w s , C u l t u r e , S p o r t , R o c k . . . ) . When FM is selected,
press the "TA" button for
more than two seconds
to switch the function on
or off. To search for a
PTY programme:
- select the PTY function,
- press button J or L b r i e fl y t o s c r o l l
down the list of the different types of
programme offered,
- when the programme of your choice is displayed, press button J or L for
more than two seconds to carry out
an automatic search (following an
automatic search, the PTY function
is switched off).
In PTY mode, the types of programme
can be stored. To do this, press the pre-
selection buttons "1" to "6" for more
than two seconds. Press the corre-
s p o n d i n g b u t t o n b r i e fl y t o r e c a l l t h e t y p e
of programme stored.
EON system
This system connects stations which are
p a r t o f t h e s a m e n e t w o r k . I t p e r m i t s t h e
broadcasting of TA t r a f fi c i n f o r m a t i o n o r
of a PTY programme broadcast by a sta-
t i o n w h i c h i s p a r t o f t h e s a m e n e t w o r k a s
the station to which you are listening.
This service is available when you have
selected the TA t r a f fi c i n f o r m a t i o n p r o -
gramme or the PTY search by type of
programme.
Press the
"TA" button
to switch the function on
or off.
The multifunction screen will indicate:
- "TA" if the function is selected,
- "(TA)" if the function is selected but
not available.

you to normal play.
The random play mode is switched

The use of copied compact discs
may cause malfunctions.
Insert circular compact discs only.
Press button
D to eject
the disc from the player.
After inserting a disc,
printed face uppermost,
the player starts auto-
matically.
If the player already contains a disc,
press button N .
