ELECTRIC WINDOWS
1 - Driver's electric window switch.
2 - Passenger's electric windowswitch.
3 - Rear left electric window switch*.
4 - Rear right electric window switch*.
5 - Disarming of the rear electric window switches (child lock)*. You have two options*: Manual operation:
press or pull switch 1gently. The
window stops as soon as the switch is released.
Automatic operation*: press or pull switch 1fully. This
opens or closes the window com-
pletely.
Safety auto-reverse* When the window rises and meets an obstacle, it stops and lowersagain. Note: In the case of frost or after
reconnecting the battery, if the win- dow will not rise, pull the switch untilit closes completely and hold it forone second to reinitialise the system.

EXTERIOR MIRRORS Electric rear view mirrors* Turn knob Ato the right or to the
left to select the corresponding
mirror.
Move knob Bin all four directions
to adjust.
Return knob Ato the centre posi-
tion.
When parked, the mirrors can be
folded back manually, electrically* bypulling knob Arearwards or automa-
tically* on locking the vehicle. The exterior mirrors are unfolded by switching on the ignition to the secondnotch or to the ON position. Note : the folding back function
when locking the vehicle can be disarmed. Contact a PEUGEOT
dealer. Manual exterior mirrors Move the lever in all four directions to adjust. When parking the vehicle, the exte- rior mirrors can be folded back
manually.

The exterior mirror on the driver's side is convex*(outer edge defined by adotted line) in order to eli-
minate the 'blind spot'. As
a result, objects observed in thedriver's and passenger's mirrorsare in reality closer than they
appear. This must be taken into account to correctly judge the distance ofvehicles approaching frombehind.
AREAS FOR TOLL CARDS /
CAR PARK TICKETS The athermic windscreen has two non-reflective zones located either
side of the base of the interior mirror.
They are intended for affixing toll cards and/or car park tickets.

INTERIOR MIRROR The interior mirror has two positions: -
day (normal),
- night (anti-dazzle).
To change from one to the other, push or pull the lever on the loweredge.

ADJUSTING THE HEADLAMPS Depending on the load in your vehicle, adjusting the beam of theheadlamps is recommended as fol-lows. 0 1 or 2 people in the front seats.
- 3 people.
1 5 people.
2 5 people + maximum authorised load.
3 Driver + maximum authorisedload.
Initial setting is position 0. HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS Press the button, the direction indi- cators flash. The hazard lights can operate with
the ignition off. Automatic lighting of hazard warning lights* When braking in an emergency (depending on the force of decelera-tion), the hazard warning lights come
on automatically. They switch offautomatically the first time you acce-lerate.
However, it is also possible to switch
them off by pressing the button.

When the vehicle is stationary, unlock the steering wheel by pullinghandle

Adjust the height and depth of thesteering wheel, then lock it bypushing handle Adown fully.

COURTESY LIGHTS

3 - Rear courtesy light With the key in the accesories position (1st notch) or with the ignition on, opera- te the relevant switch. The front and rear courtesy lights come on when the ignition key is removed, on unlocking the vehicle or on opening one of the doors.
They gradually go off after the ignition has been switched on or the vehicle is locked. Pressing switch 1turns on the front and rear courtesy lights for a duration of
ten minutes.
Pressing switch 3turns on the rear courtesy light for a duration of ten
minutes.
Note: The courtesy lights can be deactivated by pressing switch 1for more than
three seconds; However, a short press on switch 1switches the courtesy light on
and off.
The map reading lights are not affected by this and may be switched on. To re-activate the lights, press the switch for more than three seconds. SUN VISOR WITH
ILLUMINATED COURTESYMIRROR*. With the ignition on, the mirror is automatically lit up when the flap isopened.

ROOF CONSOLE The front courtesy light and a spec- tacles holder are fitted in the roofconsole.
To open or close the spectacles hol-
der, press the recess in the cover.

INTERIOR LAYOUT
1 - GloveboxTo open the glove box, lift the handle. The glove box lights when the lid is opened.It contains a ventilation nozzle that can be closed*, distributing the same conditioned air as the vents of the passenger compartment, as well as three sockets * for connecting video equipment. The layout includes storage for a pen, a pair of spectacles, tokens etc.
2 - Front ash tray Pull the lid to open the ash tray.
To empty it after opening, pull the tab and extract the ash tray.
3 - Storage
4 - 12 volt accesories socket This is a lighter type socket, fitted with a cap. It is supplied with current from the accessories position (1st notch).
5 - Door tray
6 - Beaker / can storage
7 - Coin storage
8 - Rubbish container To empty this, open it fully (past the point of resistance) then pull on the receptacle to remove it.
To refit it, lock it in place on the cover.

BOOT LAYOUT 1 - Rear parcel shelf To remove the shelf: Ð unhook the two strings,Ð slightly raise the shelf, then remove it.There are several options for storing the shelf:Ð either behind the front seats,Ð or behind the rear seat.

ving, allow the engine to return to idle before engaging function Dto accelerate.
D rive : for driving in automatic mode.
M anual: for driving in manual mode.

Moving Off
With the engine running, to move off from position P:
it is essential to press the
brake pedal to exit position P,
select function R, D or M, then
gradually release the pressureon the brake pedal; the vehicle
moves off immediately.
You can also move off from function N:
release the handbrake, with yourfoot on the brake,
select function R, D or M, then
gradually release the pressureon the brake pedal; the vehicle
moves off immediately.
WARNING When the engine is at idle, brakes not applied, if function R, D or Mis
selected the vehicle moves evenwithout the accelerator being pres-sed.For this reason, do not leave
children unsupervised inside thevehicle, with the engine running. When maintenance operations need to be carried out with the engine run-ning, apply the handbrake and selectfunction P.
"PORSCHE TIPTRONIC SYSTEM" AUTOMATIC GEARBOX The four speed automatic gearbox offers a choice between the comfort of inte-
gral automatic operation , enhanced by a sport and a snow programme, or the
pleasure of manual gear changing.
Gear selection gate Move the lever in the gate to select a function. Once the function is selected, the corresponding indicator light appears on
the instrument panel display.

Automatic operation Automatic changing of the four

The gearbox always selects the most suitable gear according to the follo-wing parameters:
- the style of driving,
- the road profile,
- the vehicle load. The gearbox is then operating in auto-adaptive mode, without anyaction on your part.
WARNING Never select position Nwhen the
vehicle is moving. Never select functions Por Runless
the vehicle is stationary.Never change betwen functions to optimise braking on a slippery surface. Notes For immediate maximum accelera-
tion without touching the gear lever,press the accelerator pedal down as
far as it will go (kickdown). The gear-box will automatically change downor maintain the gear selected untilmaximum engine speed is reached. When the brake is applied, the gear- box will automatically change down
in order to provide efficient enginebraking. If you take your foot off the accelera-
tor suddenly, the gearbox will notchange to a higher gear for reasons
of safety. Sport and snow programmes In addition to the auto-adaptive pro- gramme, there are two special pro-grammes. The programme is displayed on the instrument panel screen. Sport programme

The gearbox automatically favours sporty driving and more dynamicacceleration. Snow programme This programme improves starting
and drive when traction is poor. Press button

selected.
The gearbox adapts to driving on slippery roads. Note: you can return to the auto-
adaptive programme at any time. Press button Sor
again to
switch off the programme you are in. Manual operation Manual changing of the
four gears:
select function Min the gate,
push the lever to the +sign to
change to a higher gear,
pull the lever to the -sign to
change to a lower gear.
You can change from position D (dri-
ving in automatic mode) to position M (driving in manual mode) at any
time. Note It is only possible to change from one gear to another if the vehicle speedand engine speed permit. If they donot, the vehicle will operate tempora-rily in automatic mode. When the vehicle is stationary or
moving very slowly, the gearboxautomatically selects gear M1.
Programmes S(sport) and
(snow)
do not operate in manual mode.
