Distance remaining to be travelled This is the distance remaining to the destination. It can either be calculat-ed by the navigation if guidance is
activated, or entered by the user, minus the distance covered since thedistance was entered. Note:
if digits are missing, dashes
are displayed in their place.
Average speed This is the average speed calculated since the computer was last set tozero (with the ignition on). The warning log This summarises the active warning messages by displaying them on the

ON" .
* During the year.
Range This shows the distance that can still be covered with the fuel remaining inthe tank. Note:
this figure may increase if
there is a change in the style of dri- ving or the road surface, producing asignificant drop in current consump-tion. If horizontal segments are displayed for long periods instead of digits,
contact a PEUGEOT dealer. Current consumption This is the average quantity of fuel consumed during the last few se-conds. This function is displayed only when the vehicle is travelling at a speedgreater than 20 mph (30 km/h).
Average consumption This is the average fuel consumption since the computer was last set tozero. Distance travelled This indicates the distance travelled since the computer was last set tozero. Programming
Press the control briefly. Accelerate to the desired speed.Keep pressing the control to store in
memory. Switching off Keep pressing the control until the display indicates
"Excess speed

the units of measurement (¡C or ¡F,km and litres or miles and gallons). Distance to destination When guidance is not activated, this enables an approximate value to beentered to make all the trip computercalculations possible.

Automatic operation Automatic changing of the
four
gears :
 select function Din the gate.
The gearbox always selects the most suitable gear according to the follow-ing parameters:
Ð the style of driving,
Ð the road profile,
Ð the vehicle load. The gearbox is then operating in auto-adaptive mode, without anyaction on your part.
WARNING Never select function Nwhen the
vehicle is moving. Never select functions Por Runless
the vehicle is stationary.Never change between functions to optimise braking on a slippery sur-face. Notes For immediate maximum acceleration
without touching the gear lever, pressthe accelerator pedal down as far as
it will go (kickdown). The gearbox willautomatically change down or main-tain the gear selected until maximumengine speed is reached. When braking, the gearbox will auto- matically change down in order to
provide efficient engine braking. If you take your foot off the accelera-
tor suddenly, the gearbox will notchange to a higher gear for reasons
of safety.
Sport and snow programme In addition to the auto-adaptive pro- gramme, there are two special pro-grammes. The programme is displayed on the instrument panel screen. Sport programme Press button Sonce the vehicle
has been started and function D
selected.
The gearbox automatically favours sporty driving and more dynamicacceleration. Snow programme This programme improves starting
and drive when traction is poor. Press button

once the vehicle
has been started and function D
selected.
The gearbox adapts to driving on slippery roads. Note: you can return to the auto-
adaptive programme at any time. Press button Sor

switch off the programme you are in. Manual operation Manual changing of the
four gears:

change to a lower gear.
You can change from position D(dri-
ving in automatic mode) to position M (driving in manual mode) at any
time. Note It is only possible to change from one gear to another if the vehicle speedand engine speed permit. If they donot, the vehicle will operate tem-porarily in automatic mode. When the vehicle is stationary or
moving very slowly, the gearboxautomatically selects gear M1.
Programme S(sport) and

(snow)
do not operate in manual mode.
