''Isofix'' mountings
Available on the two side rear seats, the Isofix mountings allow for fittingof a special child seat for
PEUGEOT vehicles and sold by
PEUGEOT dealers. The locks incorporated in the child seat fit onto the Isofix mountings andensure safe, reliable and fast assem-

the Isofix KIDDY seat. It can be usedin the "rear facing" position from birthto 13 kg and in the "forwards facing"position from 9 to 18 kg. In the "forwards facing" position, the front seat must be in the mid-wayposition on the slide, with the seatback upright. The combined use of the Isofix mounting, the restraining cushion
and the seat belt is then compulsory.
The Isofix KIDDY seat can also be installed on a side seat in the 2nd
row, positioned in the 3rd row. In this
case, the Isofix KIDDY seat must bein the "rear facing" position, the bodysupported on the seat back of thecorresponding 2nd row seat.

When the Isofix KIDDY seat is fit- ted in the "rear facing" positionon the front passenger seat, it isimperative that that passenger airbag be disarmed. Otherwise there is a risk the child could be seriously injured or evenkilled due to deployment of the airbag. Follow the instructions for fitting the child seat in the manufactu-rer's instruction booklet.

CHILD SEATS Although one of PEUGEOT's main concerns when designing your vehicle, the safety of your children also depends on you.
For maximum safety, please follow these precautions:
- All children under the age of 10 must travel in a special approved child seat*, adapted to their weight, in a seat fitted with
a seat belt.
- Front passenger seat*: children under the age of 10 must not travel in the "forwards facing" position**.The "rearwards facing" position is permitted. In this position, it is compulsory to disarm the passenger air bag.
After carrying out numerous tests, PEUGEOT recommends the following systems: Up to 18 months (up to 13 kg)
"Ršmer Babysure": installed with its back to the engine in the front or in the rear using a three-point seat belt. In the front, the passenger seat must be in the "mid-way"position on the slide.
From 9 months to 3 or 4 years (9 to 18 kg) "Ršmer Prince": installed in the rear using a three-point seat belt. For the safety of your child, the seat and the restraining cushion must never be separated.

Remember, even for short journeys, to fasten the three-point seat belts or thechild seat straps, keeping the slack in relation to the child's body to a minimum.
To prevent the doors from opening accidentally, use the child-lock. Also, do not open the rear windows more than a third.

** Unless the rear seats are already occupied by other children or the rear seats cannot be used (because they are missing or folded down). In this case, adjust the front passenger seat as far back as possible and leave the air bag active.

SEAT BELTS Front and 2nd row rear side seat belts The front seats are fitted with pre- tensioners and force limiters whilethe rear seats have force limiters
only.
To adjust the height in the front To lower the attachment point, squeeze control 1and slide it
downwards.
To raise the attachment point, slide control 1upwards.
To lock Pull the strap, then insert the bucke into the stalk. Pre-tensioning and force-limiting seat belts Safety in the event of a frontal impact has been improved by the introduc-tion of pre-tensioning and force-limi-ting seat belts. Depending on theseriousness of the impact, the pre-tensioning system instantly tightensthe seat belts firmly against the bodyof the occupant. The pre-tensioning seat belts are armed when the ignition is on. The force-limiting device reduces the pressure of the seat belt against theoccupant's body in the event of anaccident.

To be effective, a seat belt must be tightened asclose to the body as pos-sible.
If the seats are fitted with arm-rests, the lap section of the seatbelt must always pass under thearmrest. Do not invert the seat belt buckles as they will not carry out their
function fully. Depending on the nature and the seriousness of the impact, thepre-tensioners may be triggeredbefore and independently of trig-gering of the airbags. In all cases, the airbag warning light comes on. Following a collision, have the system checked by a PEUGEOT
dealer. The system has been designed to be fully operational for ten years. Have it replaced after this period.

SEAT MODULARITY AND DIFFERENT CONFIGURATIONS
YOUR 307 SW IN DETAIL
67
The design of your vehicle and of its seats offers multiple seat configurations. There are
side seats which can be installed in the 2nd or 3rd
row, on the right or on the left.
Once the centre seat has been removed from the 2nd row, you can recentre the side seats for more comfort. There is also a centre seat, fitted in the central position of the
2nd row, which can also be installed in the left position in the
3rd row. In this case, you must use the 3rd row rear left seat belt without passing it through the strap guide.
You can add up to two additional seats in the 3rd row, on the
right or on the left.
The various operations resulting in modification of the existing configuration must be carried outwhen the vehicle is stationary (see "Seats" sec-tion).
Examples of varied arrangements combining comfort and practicality:
