AUTOMATIC SWITCHING ON OF LIGHTS Side lights and dipped beam head- lamps switch on automatically if the
light is poor, or during operation of
the windscreen wipers. They switch
off when the light becomes brightenough or the windscreen wipersstop. Note:In foggy weather or in snow,
the brightness sensor can detect suf-
ficient light. As a consequence, the
lights will not come on automatically. This function is active when the vehicle is delivered.
To disarm or activate the function: Start with the key in the accesso- ries position (1st notch),
Press the end of the lights stalkfor more than two seconds.
Note: after the ignition is switched off
and depending on the brightness,the lights remain on for approximate-ly 45 seconds or until the vehicle islocked. Do not cover the brightness sen- sor located in the centre of thefascia. It is used for automaticswitching on of the lights. Operating check ActivationActivation of this function is accom- panied by an audible signal and themessage
"Automatic lighting
active" on the multi-function display.
Disarming Disarming of the function is accom- panied by an audible signal. Note: the function is disarmed tem-
porarily when the driver uses the manual lighting controls. If the brightness sensor does not function correctly , the system acti-
vates the function (the lights come
on). The driver is alerted by anaudible signal, accompanied by themessage "Automatic switching on
of lights faulty" on the multi-func-
tion display.

1or 2, when the vehicle
stops, the windscreen wiper changes to a lower wiping speed, then resumesits initial speed when the vehicle startsagain. In the Intermittent position, the wiping speed is proportional to the speed ofthe vehicle. In the AUTO position, the wiping speed
is proportional to the heaviness of the rain. When the ignition has been swit- ched off for more than one minutewith the stalk in the wipe position, itis necesary to reactivate this func-tion. To do this, move the stalk to any
position, then move it back to the requi-red position.
Windscreen wash Pull the wipers stalk towards you. The windscreen wash, then the windscreen wipers, operate for afixed period.

Maintenance position This position enables the wiper blades to be removed.
In the minute following switching off of the ignition, any action on the stalkpositions the wipers in the centre ofthe windscreen so that they may becleaned or replaced.
To park the wipers after this has been done, switch on the ignitionand operate the stalk.

Do not cover the rain sen- sor located on the wind-screen behind the interior
mirror.
When using an automatic carwash, switch off the ignition orcheck that the wiper stalk is not in
the automatic position. In winter, itis advisable to wait for the wind-screen to completely clear of icebefore operating the automaticwipe. Rear windscreen wiper

Operating check ActivationWhen the function is activated, the message "Automatic windscreen
wiping active" appears on the mul-
tifunction display. Disarming Disarming of the function is accom- panied by an audible signal. In the event of malfunction , the dri-
ver is informed by an audible signal and the message "Auto wind-
screen wiper faulty" on the multi-
function display. In the AUTOposition, the wind-
screen wiper will operate in intermit- tent mode.

Range The display shows the distance which can still be covered with thefuel remaining in the tank. Note :this figure may rise if there is
a change in driving style or road sur- face, accompanied by a significantdrop in current fuel consumption. If there are less than about 0.5 gal- lons (2 litres) of fuel in the tank, onlythree segments will be displayed. Current consumption This gives the fuel consumption recorded during the last two
seconds. This function is displayedonly when the vehicle is travelling atapproximately 15 mph (20 km/h). The display stops at 10 mpg (30 l/100km). Average consumption This is the ratio between the amount of fuel consumed and the distancetravelled since the computer was lastreset to zero. The display stops at 10 mpg (30 l/100km).

Distance travelled This shows the distance travelled since the computer was last reset tozero. After the trip computer has been reset to zero, the range databecomes meaningful only after thevehicle has been in use for a certainperiod. If horizontal segments are displayed instead of figures when driving,
contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Average speed This is obtained by dividing the dis- tance travelled by the period of timethe vehicle has been in use (with theignition on), since the computer waslast reset to zero.

As a result, objects observed inthe driver's and passenger's mir-rors are in reality closer than they
appear. This must be taken into account to correctly judge the distance ofvehicles approaching frombehind.

ILLUMINATED COURTESYMIRROR With the ignition on, the mirror is automatically illuminated when theflap is opened.
TOLL CARD / CAR PARK TICKET ZONES The athermic windscreen has two non-reflective zones located either
side of the base of the interior mirror.
They are intended for affixing toll cards and/or car park tickets.

ADJUSTING THE HEADLAMPS Depending on the load in your vehicle, adjusting the beam of theheadlamps is recommended as fol-lows. 0 1 or 2 people in the front seats.
- 3 people.
1 5 or 7 people.
2 5 or 7 people + maximum authori- sed load.
3 Driver + maximum authorisedload.
Initial setting is position 0. HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS Press the button, the direction indi- cators flash. They can operate with the ignition
off. Automatic lighting of hazard warning lights*
When braking in an emergency, depending on the force of decelera-tion, the hazard warning lights come
on automatically. They switch offautomatically the first time you acce-lerate.
It is also possible to switch them off by pressing the button.

When the vehicle is stationary, unlock the steering wheel by pullinghandle
