''Isofix'' mountings
Available on the two side rear seats, the Isofix mountings allow for fittingof a special child seat for
PEUGEOT vehicles and sold by
PEUGEOT dealers. The locks incorporated in the child seat fit onto the Isofix mountings andensure safe, reliable and fast assem-
bly. The special approved child seat is
the Isofix KIDDY seat. It can be usedin the "rear facing" position when theside seats are recentred from birth to13 kg and in the "forwards facing"position from 9 to 18 kg. In the "forwards facing" position, the front seat must be in the mid-wayposition on the slide, with the seatback upright. The combined use of the Isofix mounting, the restraining cushion
and the seat belt is then compulsory.
The Isofix KIDDY seat can also be installed on a side seat in the 2nd
row, positioned in the 3rd row. In this
case, the Isofix KIDDY seat must bein the "rear facing" position, the bodysupported on the seat back of thecorresponding 2nd row seat.

This seat can also be used on seats not fitted with Isofix mountings: inthis case it is compulsory to attach itto the vehicle's seat by means of thethree-point seat belt.
When the Isofix KIDDY seat is fit- ted in the "rear facing" positionon the front passenger seat, it isimperative that that passenger airbag be disarmed. Otherwise there is a risk the child could be seriously injured or evenkilled due to deployment of the airbag. Follow the instructions for fitting the child seat in the manufactu-rer's instruction booklet.

3rd row rear seat belts The 3rd row rear seats are fitted with two three-point inertia reel seatbelts.
To put on the seat belt, insert buckle C
then buckle Dinto their respective
stalks.
To remove the seat belt, proceed in
the reverse order, then move buckleD to the location Eprovided.
To be effective, a seat belt must be tightened asclose to the body as pos-sible.
If the seats are fitted with arm-rests, the lap section of the seatbelt must always pass under thearmrest. Do not invert the seat belt buckles as they will not carry out their
function fully. Depending on the nature and the seriousness of the impact, thepre-tensioners may be triggeredbefore and independently of trig-gering of the airbags. In all cases, the airbag warning light comes on. Following a collision, have the system checked by a PEUGEOT
dealer. The system has been designed to be fully operational for ten years.
For greater safety, have it chec- ked by a PEUGEOT dealer afterthis period.
2nd row rear centre seat belt The 2nd row rear centre seat has a three-point inertia reel seat beltincorporated in the centre of theroof. Pass buckle A, then buckle B, into
the strap guide working from the inside to the outside of the seat. Insert buckle Ainto its stalk (right),
then buckle Binto its stalk (left).

TRACTION CONTROL (ASR)
AND DYNAMIC STABILITY
CONTROL (ESP) These systems are linked and com-
plement the ABS.
The ASR system optimises drive to prevent the wheels skidding, byacting on the brakes of the drivewheels and on the engine. It alsoallows the directional stability of thevehicle to be improved on accelera-tion. If there is a variation between the tra- jectory followed by the vehicle and
that required by the driver, the ESPsystem automatically acts on theengine and the brake of one or morewheels, in order to put the vehicleback on course. Operating checkWhen a malfunction of the system occurs, the indicatorlight comes on, accompa-nied by an audible signaland the message
"ESP/ASR not operational" on the
multi-function display.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have the system checked.
YOUR 307 SW IN DETAIL
130
The ESP system offers increased safety duringnormal driving, but shouldnot incite the driver totake risks or to drive at
high speed. The operation of the system is ensured to the extent to which therecommendations of the manufac-turer regarding the wheels (tyresand wheel rims), the braking com-ponents, the electronic compo-nents and the assembly and repairprocedures within the PEUGEOTnetwork are observed. After an impact, have the system
checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
EMERGENCY BRAKING
ASSISTANCE SYSTEM
In an emergency, this system enables the optimum braking
pressure to be reached more quickly, thus reducing the stopping distance. It is triggered according to the speed
of activation of the brake pedal. The
effect of this is a reduction in theresistance of the pedal and an
increase in braking efficiency.
