LIGHTS
Front and rear lights (ring A)
F
Turn ring A to the position re-
quired. Lights on
With the ignition off, on opening the
driver's door a buzzer sounds to indi-
cate that you have left your lights on
although you are leaving the vehicle.
F
Switch the lights off. Direction indicators (lashers)
Lights off
Side lights Dipped/main beam
headlamps
Dipped/main beam change
F Pull the stalk fully towards you. Front and rear fog lamps (ring B)
F
Turn ring B forwards to switch on
and rearwards to swich off. The
status is conirmed by the light on
the instrument panel.
Front fog lamps (one press) Left:
downwards. The
direction arrow indica-
tor light lashes on the
instrument panel.
Right: upwards. The
direction arrow indica-
tor light lashes on the
instrument panel.
Note: If you forget to return the direc-
tion indicator to its normal position,
the volume of the audible signal will
increase, if you are driving at a speed
greater than 40 mph (60 km/h) or if
the control is maintained for more
than 20 seconds.
These operate with the side lights
and the dipped or main beam head-
lamps.
Rear fog lamps (two presses)
These operate when the front fog
lamps are already on.

Automatic switching on of the
lights
This function is active when the vehi-
cle is supplied to the customer.
The dipped beam headlamps switch
on automatically if the light is poor
and when the windscreen wipers
operate continuously. They switch off
when the light is bright enough or the
windscreen wipers stop.
Warning:
in foggy weather, the bright-
ness sensor can detect suficient light.
As a consequence, the lights will not
come on automatically. Activation Manual "Follow-me-home"
lighting
When you leave your vehicle, the
side lights and dipped headlamps
can be left on for a few seconds.
Activation:
F switch off the engine,
F "lash" the headlamps,
F get out of the vehicle and lock it.
When the function is activated,
the indicator light comes on on the
5-dial instrument panel display.
To disarm or activate the
function, pass via the
"Perso n al i sat i o n - co n -
iguration" menu on your
multifunction display.
For safety reasons, activation/
deactivation of the "Automatic
switching on of the lights"
function via the menu must be
carried out when stationary. To deactivate or activate
the "Automatic follow-me-
home lighting" function,
pass via the
"Persona-
lisation-configuration"
menu on your multifunc-
tion screen.
The duration of timing
can be set via the "Perso-
nalisation-configuration"
menu of your multifunc-
tion display.
Automatic "Follow-me-home"
lighting
When you leave your vehicle
with
the automatic switching on of the
lights activated, the side lights and
dipped headlamps remain on for the
duration selected after the ignition is
switched off.
Disarming
When the function is disarmed,
the indicator light comes on on the
5-dial instrument panel display.
Do not cover the sunshine/
brightness sensor, located in
the centre of the windscreen.
It is used to regulate the air
conditioning and for the automatic
switching on of the lights.
If the sunshine/brightness sensor
does not function correctly,
the
side lights and dipped headlamps
and the indicator light come on
accompanied by an audible signal
and a message on the multifunction
display.

HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS
Press the button, the direction indica-
tors lash.
They can operate with the ignition off.
MANUAL ADJUSTMENT
OF THE HEADLAMPS
For vehicles itted with halogen
bulbs, depending on the load in your
vehicle, adjusting the beam of your
headlamps is recommended.
0
1 or 2 people in the front seats.
- 3 people.
1 5 people.
2 5 people + maximum authorised
loads.
3 Driver + maximum authorised
loads.
Initial setting is position 0.
AUTOMATIC HEADLAMP
ADJUSTMENT
On vehicles with Xenon bulbs: the sys-
tem automatically corrects the height of
the beam, whatever the load or speed
of the vehicle. The driver is then as-
sured of having optimum lighting and
not causing a nuisance to other road
users.
Automatic lighting of hazard
warning lights*
When braking in an emergency,
depending on the deceleration, the
hazard warning lights come on auto-
matically. They switch off automatically
the irst time you accelerate.
It is also possible to switch them off
by pressing the button.
* According to country. In cases of malfunction
, the
warning light comes on on
the 5-dial instrument panel
display and is accompanied
by an audible signal and a message
on the multifunction display. The sys-
tem places your headlamps to the
low position.
Do not touch the Xenon bulbs. Con-

INSTRUMENT PANEL
LIGHTING RHEOSTAT
With the lights on, press the button to
vary the intensity of the lighting of the
instruments and controls. When the
lighting reaches the minimum (or maxi-
mum) setting, release the button then
press it again to increase (or reduce)
the brightness.
As soon as the lighting is of the re-
quired brightness, release the button.
FRONT COURTESY LIGHT
1 - Courtesy light
2 - Map reading lights
With the key in the ignition on or
starting position, operate the relevant
switch.
The front courtesy light comes on
when the ignition key is removed, on
unlocking the vehicle or on opening
one of the doors.
It gradually goes off after the ignition
has been switched on or when the
vehicle is locked.
F
Pressing switch 1 turns on the
front courtesy light. The courtesy light can be deacti-
vated by pressing switch
1 with the
door open. The map reading lights
are not affected by this and may be
switched on.
F To re-activate the lights, press the
switch, with the door open.

ELECTRIC WINDOWS
1 - Driver's electric window
switch.
2 - Passenger's electric window
switch.
3 - Rear right electric window
switch.
4 - Rear left electric window
switch.
5 - Disarming of the rear electric window switches (child lock).
Manual operation:
To open or close the window, press
or pull the switch gently. The win-
dow stops as soon as the switch is
released. Automatic operation:

To open or close the window, press or
pull switch fully: the window opens or
closes completely when the switch is
released. Pressing the switch again
stops the movement of the window.
The electric window switches remain
operational for approximately one
minute after the key has been re-
moved from the ignition.
Once this time has elapsed, the
electric windows will not operate. To
reactivate them, switch the ignition
on again.
Safety auto-reverse
When the window rises and meets
an obstacle, it stops and immediately
partially lowers again.
In the event of unwanted opening
of the window on closing, press
the switch until the window opens
completely, then pull the switch im-
mediately until the window closes.
Continue to hold the switch for ap-
proximately one second after the
window has closed.
The safety auto-reverse function is
not active during this operation.
Disarming the rear window
controls
For the safety of your children, press
switch 5 to prevent operation of the
rear windows irrespective of their
position.
When the button is pressed down,
the switches are disarmed. When
the button is raised, the switches are
active. Always remove the key from
the ignition when leaving
the vehicle, even for a short
time.
In the event of contact during opera-
tion of the windows, you must reverse
the movement of the window. To do
this, press the switch concerned.
When the driver operates the pas-
senger electric window switches, he
must ensure that no one is prevent-
ing correct closing of the windows.
The driver must ensure that the pas-
sengers use the electric windows
correctly.
Be aware of children when operating
the windows.
REINITIALISATION OF THE
WINDOWS
Following reconnection of the bat-
tery, the safety auto-reverse function
must be reinitialised: the safety auto-
reverse function is not active during
these operations.
- lower the window completely, then raise it, it will rise in steps of a few
centimetres each time the switch is
pressed. Repeat the operation until
the window closes completely,
- continue to press the switch for at least one second after reaching
this position, window closed.

INTERIOR LAYOUT
Air conditioned glove box
This is itted with a lock.
To open the glove box, lift the han-
dle.
The glove box lights when the lid is
opened.

It is itted with three sockets for con-
necting video equipment (RT3) and
a ventilation nozzle (which can be
closed by means of a dial), distrib-
uting conditioned air at the same
temperature as the vents of the pas-
senger compartment.
In cold weather, it is advisable to
close this nozzle to conserve the
ambient air inside the passenger
compartment.
The layout allows storage of a pen, a
pair of spectacles, tokens, etc.
Retractable cup/can holder
This is located in front of the front
armrest.
Press the cover to open the cup/can
holder. Front armrest
To open the compartment:
F
lift the lever 1.
The storage compartment permits
the storing of CDs and coins.
Rear storage container
This is located at the rear of the front
armrest.
To empty it, open it fully, press the
upper lug then pull to remove it.
12 volt accessories socket
This is a lighter type socket, itted
with a cap. It is supplied with current
from the ignition on position.
Covered storage compartment,
driver's side
This permits the storing of small ob-
jects such as keys, a parking badge
or a mobile telephone.
Front door trays
These permit the storing of maps,
tourist guides or a bottle of water.
Front ashtray
This is itted with a lighter socket or a
12 volt socket.
Press the cover to open the ashtray.
To empty the ashtray, after opening,
grip the receptacle and remove it.

Rear armrest
The rear armrest consists of two
compartments with a hinged cover.
Storage compartment
1:
F Lift the cover.
Cup holder 2:
F Fold the second cover forwards.
Removing the mat
When removing the mat on the driv-
er's side, push the seat as far back
as possible and remove the ixings.
When reitting, position the mat and
clip the ixings. If the mat is not se-
cured correctly, there is a risk that
it may get caught under the pedal
assembly.
Storage compartments
There are two storage compartments
located in the boot side trim.
To gain access to a compartment:
F turn the two screws to the right
and remove the panel.
Access to the ski lap
Pull the handle down then towards
you to open the lap.

The RD4 is a radio with a single CD
player on the front panel.
It is itted with:
- a special socket for connection of
the CD changer,
- two analogue inputs which can be activated by the PEUGEOT net-
work (Aux 1 and Aux 2) for MP3
players, hands-free kits or naviga-
tion systems (accessories),
- 6 speakers (2 tweeters, 2 woofers and two broad band),
- a tuner with 18 FM memories (3 wavebands) and 6 AM memories, - a processor for digital process-
ing of the sound, "DSP" (DIGITAL
SOUND PROCESSOR).
Its power is 4x15 W.

This is Radio Text compatible.
CD PLAYER
This is CD text ฀compatible.
If the TA (Trafic Announcement)
function is active, interruption by
Trafic Information is possible. 6 DISC CD CHANGER
With random play and track intro (In-

The RD4 is compatible with the JBL
