Display coniguration Changing the date and time
Set the parameters one by one, us-
ing the navigator, then conirm using
"OK".
From the list displayed, select "Dis-
play coniguration" , then conirm.
From the list displayed, select "Date
and time setting" , then conirm.

with a scale between Moon (-) and
Sun (+).
- Selection of the units of measure- ment.
- Setting the date and time. Your op- erational area is displayed. Use the
navigator to move from one selec-
tion to another.
Your new parameters are conirmed
one by one, by pressing the naviga-
tor button. All of the parameters are
recorded if you click on OK, shown
on the display.
The ESCape button on the control
panel gives you the option of not
conirming your changes. From the menu, shown on the display,
select the
"Personalisation-Con-
iguration" icon using the navigator,
then conirm.

Your 407 is itted with a JBL Hi-Fi
system, designed speciically for
the passenger compartment. At the
heart of the system, a 240 watt mul-
tifunction ampliier (1) independently
controls 10 speakers and an integral
subwoofer.
This system provides optimum repro-
duction and distribution of the sound
in the vehicle, both in the front and
the rear.
The speakers are situated:
- in the fascia: two Micro Tweeters
(2) set in two Medium-range speak-
ers (3) for frontal reproduction of
the sound. - in the front doors: two Woofers (4)

for reproduction of the bass (low
frequencies) in the front.
- in the rear doors: two Tweeters (5) and two Woofers (6) providing a
balance of frequencies (from bass
to treble) in the rear.
- in the right boot trim: a Sub- woofer (7) for reproduction of the
ultra-bass (very low frequencies)
throughout the whole of the pas-
senger compartment.
You will appreciate the performance
of the JBL system, noticing that the
sound ills the whole of the vehicle
perfectly. Adjusting in CD or Radio mode
The basic functions remain those of
the audio set.
There is no need for any further ad-
justment.
However, in order to take full advan-
tage of your JBL audio system, you
are advised to set the AUDIO func-
tions (BASS, TREB, FAD, BAL) to
the "mid-way" position, the Loudness
(LOUD) to the "ON" position for CD
mode and to the "OFF" position for
radio mode.

- the up 5, down 6, left 7, right
8 movement arrows which en-
able you to move the cursor on the
screen,
- the central button which enables you to move the cursor on the
screen and conirm.
Note: all selections can be cancelled
prior to conirmation by pressing the
external "ESC" (escape) button.

On/off
Adjusting the volume
Turn the dial clockwise to increase
the volume of the audio/telephone or
anti-clockwise to decrease it.
The volume setting is speciic to each
source. It is possible to have different
settings for radio, CD or CD changer,
telephone or voice synthesiser.
Selecting "None" permits
access to all of the settings
deined below.
Adjusting the Bass

When "Bass" is displayed, vary the
setting using the navigator.
- "-9" for minimum bass setting- mid-way for normal bass setting- "+9" for maximum bass setting
Musical ambience
This function permits the selection of
a musical ambience: "None", "Clas-
sical", "Jazz-Blues", "Pop-Rock",
"Techno" or "Vocal".
Select the musical ambience using
the navigator.
Selecting a musical ambience sets
the bass and treble automatically.
Press the button
to switch the audio
function of the RT3
GPS audio/telephone
on or off.
The RT3 GPS
audio/telephone can operate for ap-
proximately 30 minutes without the
vehicle's ignition being switched on,
under normal conditions of use and
maintenance of the battery.
After the ignition has been switched
off, the audio/telephone can be
switched on again by pressing the
"TEL" (green), "LION" or "SOS"
button or by inserting a CD in the

The RT3 GPS audio/telephone is
coded in such a way that it can op-
erate only on your vehicle. If it is to
be removed and itted to another
vehicle, check the feasibility and the
coniguration of the system with your
PEUGEOT dealer.
The anti-theft system is automatic
and requires no action on your part.

Radio
Notes on radio reception
The quality of the radio reception is
subject to external phenomena, due
to the nature of the signals and the
way in which they are transmitted.
Both MW/LW and FM are subject to
various forms of interference. This is
not a relection on the quality of the
equipment.
On MW/LW interference may be
noticed when passing under high
voltage power lines or bridges, or in
tunnels.
On FM, interference may be the re-
sult of increasing distance from the
transmitter, delection of the signals
by obstacles (mountains, hills, build-
ings etc.) or of being in an area which
is not covered by a transmitter.
Adjusting the Treble
When "Treble" is displayed, vary the
setting using the navigator.

Manual station storing
Select the station required.
Press one of the buttons "1" to "6"
for
more than two seconds.
The sound is cut off and then returns,
conirming that the station has been
stored in the memory.
Automatic storing of FM stations
in the memory (Autostore)
Press the "BAND" but-
ton for more than two
seconds.
Your audio/telephone
automatically stores
the 6 stations with the strongest sig-
nal in FM. These stations are stored
in the FMast waveband.
If it is not possible to ind 6 stations,
the remaining memories are empty.
Displaying the stations available
You can display the list
of stations received lo-
cally by pressing the
"LIST" button. This
list can include up to
30 stations.
To update this list during your jour-
ney, press the "LIST" button for more
than two seconds.
Note: stations which permit the
broadcasting of trafic information
are indicated by the display TA. Trafic information priority (TA)
Press the "TA/PTY"
button to switch the
function on or off.
The multifunction dis-
play will show:
- TA if the function is active,
- TA crossed out if the function is ac- tive but not available.
Any trafic information lash will be
given priority, whatever source you
are listening to (radio, CD or CD
changer).
If you wish to interrupt the broad-
casting of a message, press the
"SOURCE" button to return to the
source which was in use prior to the
interruption.
The trafic information volume is
independent of the normal audio/
telephone volume. You can set it
using the volume dial or the steer-
ing wheel control. The setting will
be stored and will be used when the
next messages are broadcast. Search by type of program (PTY)

This is a search by type of program, if
the coding is activated by the broad-
casting stations.
It allows you to listen to stations
broadcasting a speciic type of pro-
gram (news, culture, sport, rock,
weather, etc.)
When FM is selected, press the "TA/
PTY" button for more than two sec-
onds to switch the function or or off.
If the function is active, to ind a PTY
program:
- press the "TA/PTY" button for more than
two seconds,
- press button 5 or 6 or turn the dial
to scroll down the different types of
programs offered, then conirm the
choice.
The irst station broadcasting the
theme selected is tuned to.
In PTY mode, the different types of
program can be stored in the memo-
ry. To do this, press the preselection
buttons "1" to "6" for more than two
seconds. To recall the type of pro-
gram stored in the memory, briely
press the corresponding button.

EON system
This system connects stations which
are part of the same network. It per-
mits the broadcasting of
TA trafic
information or a PTY program by a
station that is part of the same net-
work as the station to which you are
listening.
The service is available when you
have selected the TA trafic infor-
mation program or the PTY search
program. Select the "Audio Func-
tions" menu from the
general menu:
- To activate/deactivate the RDS frequency fol-
lowing,
- To activate/deactivate the REG re- gional following mode,
- For the TMC trafic information. In the permanent audio application,
press the navigator briely to display
the "RADIO" contextual menu.
Activate or deactivate the RDS fre-
quency following.
The multifunction display will show:
- RDS if the function is active,
- RDS crossed out or greyed out if
the function is active but not avail-
able.
"Radio" menu
By pressing the navigator dial, in the
permanent radio application, you can:
- Enter the frequency,
- Activate/Deactivate the RDS fre- quency following,
- Activate/Deactivate the REG re- gional following mode,
- Display Radio Text to display infor- mation connected with the station
being listened to, if "RT" is dis-
played permanently. "Audio Functions" menu

RDS
Using the RDS (Radio Data
System) function on FM
The RDS allows you to continue lis-
tening to the same station whatever
frequency it is using in the region
you are going through. The display
indicates the name of the station
selected.
However, poor coverage of the net-
work or particular environmental
conditions may interfere with the
transmission.
The radio is continually searching
for the transmitter which is transmit-
ting the same program with the best
reception.
Regional following mode (REG)
When they are part of a network,
certain stations broadcast regional
programs in the various areas they
serve. Regional following mode ena-
bles you to continue listening to the
same program.
In the permanenet audio application,
press the navigator briely to display
the "RADIO" contextual menu.
Activate or deactivate regional fol-
lowing mode.
The multifunction display will show:
- REG if the function is active,
- REG crossed out or greyed out if
the function is active but not avail-
able.
