Changing Bulbinthe Side
Marker Light

1. Remove capinthe wheel housing linerwiththe
screwdriver.
2. Insert screwdriver intotheopening inthe wheel
housing lineratright angles tothe side marker
light housing.
By pressing withthescrewdriver, disengage
the securing springofthe side marker light
housing.

Remove sidemarker lightandundo bulbholder
(bayonet lock),
4. Remove bulbfrom theholder andreplace.
Insert holder.
5. Insert thelight tabs (arrow A)into thewing at
the front.
Engage securing spring(arrow

6. Press capintothewheel housing liner.
Check operation ofthe light.

2. Unscrew fastening screwAand pulltaillight

4. Replace defective bulb(bayonet mount).

positioned.
7. Screw infastening screwA.
8. Check operation ofthe light.

2. Push rubber covering back,remove defective
bulb from between thecontact springsand
replace.
3. Reassemble inreverse order.

1. With ascrewdriver (arrow),carefully pushout
the light.
2. Pull bulb holder outoflight housing.
Remove defective bulbandreplace.
3. Install bulbholder andinsert light.

Reading light:

Turn theholder Aof the defective bulbcounter-
clockwise, andremove.
Remove bulbandreplace.

Interior light:

Carefully unclipthelight lensonthe switch side

(arrow)
andthen detach it.
Remove defective bulbfrom between thecon-
tact springs andreplace.
Clip light lensback in. 3.
Insert lighthousing intothelining rearendfirst.
Press frontofhousing upand click intoplace.
Check operation oflights.

the screwdriver blade

bracket
(arrow).

Remove lampbracket, takeoutdefective bulb
and replace.
4. Reassemble inreverse order.

Adjustment
The adjustment ismade withthevehicle readyto
drive andthefuel tank completely filled.
The driver's seatmust beloaded byaperson ora
165 Ibs.(75kg)weight andthetire pressures
must meet theprescribed values.
After being loaded, thecarmust berolled afew
meters sothat thesuspension cansettle. For
checking theheadlight adjustment, theverti-
cal position ofthe cutoff ofthe lowbeam (seefig.)
has tobe projected onavertical screen(wall)in
distance of7.5 mfrom thefront lensofthe head-
lamp.
The correct position ofthe cutoff is5cm at7.5 m
(0.4°) below ahorizontal line,xcm from ground to
the center ofthe headlamp lens. Lateral
adjustment ofthe headlights shouldbe
carried outataspecialist workshop withanoptical
adjustment unit.

Distance

Visual aimshall beperformed atnot less than
7.5 m(this value isarounded downconversion
from the25-foot distance typicaloffield aimusing
a screen). The7.5mdistance ismeasured from
the headlamp lenstothe viewing screen.

Floor

The surface uponwhich thevehicle restsisflat
and approximately level.

Screen

The screen uponwhich headlamp beams arepro-
jected isperpendicular tothe floor andthevehi-
cle's longitudinal axis,flat,uniformly lightincolor,
unobstructed, andwide andhigh enough toac-
commodate thevehicle beampatterns tobe
aimed.
The screen shouldbewide enough toprovide at
least 1m of space outboard ofthe vehicle's head-
lamp spacing.

Vehicle towing

Flat bed towing isthe preferred typeoftowing to
be used onPorsche vehicles.
Under certain circumstances, wheelliftsmay be
used when thevehicle willnotroll.

The vehicle mustbetowed withallfour
wheels offthe ground, otherwise damageto
the vehicle mayresult.

Towing eye

The towing eyeiscontained inthe tool kit.

eye isto be used onlytopull thevehicle onto

Make suremetal partsofstraps donot dam-
age rim.
Make surethestrap isflat over therim bead.

2. Secure strapstorear offlat bed.
3. Reel inhoist cable onlyfarenough totension
tie-down straps. 4.
Carefully feedtowing strapsthrough theopen-
ing inthe
front wheels.

Make suremetal partsofstraps donot dam-
age rim.
Make surethestrap isflat over therimbead.
Make surebrake backing plateisnot dam-
aged.
5. Secure strapstofront offlat bed.
6. Release tensiononhoist cable, butdonot dis-
connect.
Use hoist cable asasafety cable.
