ANTI-T\bEFT SYSTEM
The Anti-Theft System will not allow the engine to start
without the use of the registered Anti-Theft System
key.
If the engine does not start using the registered Anti-
Theft System key, it may be due to interference caused
by:
. Another Anti-Theft System key.
. Automated toll road device.
. Automated payment device.
. Other devices that transmit similar signals.
Start the engine using the following procedure:
1. Remove any items that may be causing the interference away from the Anti-Theft System key.
2. Leave the ignition switch in the “ON” position for approximately 5 seconds.
\f. Turn the ignition switch to the “OFF” or “LOCK” position, and wait approximately 10 seconds. 4. Repeat steps 2 and \f again.
5. Start the engine.
6. Repeat the steps above until all possible inter-
ferences are eliminated.
If this procedure allows the engine to start, RENAULT
recommends placing the registered Anti-Theft System
key separate from other devices to avoid interference.

This fun\btion \bompares the strengths of the
signals of all the stations on the A\f list and
sele\bts the station with the optimum re\beption
\bonditions.
. Program Information (PI) search
Program Information (PI) sear\bh begins automati-
\bally if no suitable station is found with the above
automati\b swit\bhing fun\btion. The PI sear\bh
fun\btion \bhe\bks ea\bh RDS station with the same
PI \bode. During this time the sound is muted and
“PI SEARCH” is displayed. The PI sear\bh opera-
tion stops when a suitable station is found. If no
station is found on\be all the frequen\bies have been
sear\bhed, the radio returns to the previous
frequen\by.
. Enhanced Other Network (EON) data update
(This function also operates when the AF
mode is off.)
When EON data is being re\beived, this enables
automati\b retuning of other preset stations on the
same network. Also, network linked servi\bes \ban

manual tuning, the RDS data is re\beived and the
Program Servi\be (PS) name is displayed.
. Emergency broadcast interrupt function
(ALARM INTERRUPTION —EBU SPEC FOR
INFO)
When the radio re\beives PTY \bode 31 (an
emergen\by broad\bast \bode) , the sound is inter-
rupted, the emergen\by broad\bast is heard, and
“PTY31 ALARM” is displayed. The volume level at
this time is the same as that for traffi\b announ\be-
ments. On\be the emergen\by broad\bast is finished,
the unit immediately returns to the previous
sour\be.
. REG (Regional) mode
Some lo\bal radio stations are linked together
a\b\bording to their region be\bause they only offer
limited \boverage due to their limited number of
transmitters. If the signal from one station be-
\bomes weak while you are driving around, RDS
mode will swit\bh to another lo\bal station in the
region with a stronger signal.
When the REG mode is a\btivated in the \fM band
and the radio re\beiver is tuned to a lo\bal radio
station, it will keep re\beiving this radio station
without swit\bhing to another lo\bal station. \for
a\btivation or dea\btivation, use the MENU button.
