FM stations Automatic Search tuning
Select the FM1 or FM2 band. The screen will display for instance:
"FM 87.50".
To start automatic search, press either or keys.
Search will stop at the next station.
Automatic search of FM bands operates at two sensitivity levels. If
during its first search on the tuning band for powerful field stations
(localstations) no station is found, the set will carry out a second
search for less powerful field stations.

1. Select the FM1 or FM2 band.
2. Hold the or key down until you hear the signal and the
"MAN" indication and the current frequency are displayed on
the screen.
3. Tune into the frequency of your choice by pressing the or
keys.
If you press these keys briefly the tuning moves step by step
(50 KHz steps) and if you hold them pressed down the
frequencies change fast.
AAlltteerrnnaattiivvee FFrreeqquueennccyy sseelleeccttiioonn ((AAFF))
RDS FM radio stations can transmit their signal at different
frequencies. Your radio automatically chooses the strongest signalfor the selected station. If you are driving through an area with bad
coverage, each automatic retune will result in short breaks in the
audio. In order to avoid this, turn the AF function off.
TTuurrnniinngg AAFF ffuunnccttiioonn oonn//ooffff
Keep the DX/MAN key pressed until the confirmation signal
sounds. The AF function will be alternatively enabled or disabled.
The AF function status is also stored in the memory when a radio
station is stored and will be enabled again when a preset station is
selected.

•Callup of a memorized programme:
Brieflypress the relevant pretune key.
Memory contents is not lost even if the set is removed from the

Switching to traffic announcements
When TP (Traffic Programme) is displayed on screen the set is
ready to receive traffic conditions announcements in any operation
mode.
SSwwiittcchhiinngg oonn tthhee TTPP
Briefly press the TP key. "TP" will be displayed on screen. If the
station tuned doesn’t provide this service the set will search
automatically for the next available station.
The traffic announcements are played back at a minimum preset
volume. In the "PROGSystem" advanced mode you can change the
minimum volume. After the traffic announcement you will continue
listening to the previously selected source at whatever volume youhad set.
Ifgeneralvolume is set at "VOL 00" you will only listen to traffic
announcements.The CD or CD6 operation is interrupted during traffic
announcements playback.
During a traffic announcement playback you can modify the
volume with the main control
A. Also by briefly pressing key TP the
traffic announcement playback is shut off.

To switch off the function briefly press the "TP" key.
If the traffic announcements’ station tuned by you cannot be
listened to properly the set will automatically start searching for

The pretune key 6 PERS (personal) can be used to register a

PTY function
1. Switch on the PTY function by briefly pressing the PTY key.
The screen will display the last programme type selected.
2. Choose the programme type:
– With the pretune keys: 1 (NEWS), 2 (SPORT), 3 (POP),
4 (ROCK M), 5 (CLASSICS) or 6 (PERS).
By pressing the programming key of your choice search for
the next radio programme of the selected type is started,
meanwhile "PTY..." is displayed on screen.
–Briefly press or until the programme type of your
choice is displayed on screen, then press or again
untilyou hear the confirmation signal. The PTY search carries
on untilitcomes across the next station broadcasting the
programme type of your choice, then the relevant short
name willbe displayed on screen, for instance: "POP".
To search for the next station hold the key down until you hear
the confirmation signal.
Ifat that moment there is no station broadcasting the
programme type of your choice, once the search is over you will
listen to the last station tuned and the PTY function is
automatically switched off.
3. Exit PTY function.
Briefly press the PTY key or wait for about 9 seconds for
automatic switch off.

activate the CD changer.
