begin driving.

Loud volume is dangerous when you are driving, for you and other drivers.
You should set the radio to a level that allows you to hear the sounds
around you (e.g. horns, ambulances, police cars etc.).
Radio adjustments should either be done while the vehicle is not in motion

Radio Card
Your car audio set papers
Includesmodel, seriesnumber and code number for codifying.
The seriesnumber isidenticalto the number printed on the side of
the set housing.
The radio card gives proof of the property of the set, helps police
search should the set be lost and speedsup the compe
nsation
paperworkwith the insurance company.
Remove the radio card and store itin a safe place. Never leave it
inside the car.

Anti-theft protection
Coding
Ifwith the code on (see chapter "PROG-System") the car audio is
removed from the battery(for instance, when replacing the battery
at a workshop) the setwillbe electronicallyblocked.
You can only activate itagain byintroducing the correct code
number.

Turning the contact key
Ifwith the audio system on the contact keyisremoved the setwill
disconnect automatically.
If the keyisintroduced again and turned in the contact, the audio
system isconnected automatically

Operation for limited time periods (1 hour)
With the car audio set off and the contact keyremoved pressmain
controlA.
In thisway, the setwill run for 1 hour and willswitch itself off
automaticallyafter thistime. Ifyou turn the keyin the contact
during thishour period will disconnect the function (limited time
function).
To switch off the set before the hour has elapsed press the main
cont
rolAagain.
You can switch on the set anytime you wish.
With the car audio set on and the keyin the lock butwithout the
contact on the setwill remain on for 2 hoursand willswitch itself
off automaticallyafter thisperiod of time.

Mobile phone or radio-telephone function
The car audio set can be connected to a mobile phone or a radio-
telephone.While these accessories are in operation the volume isreduced to
the PROG-System set volume. In this operation mode you can set
the tone, fader, and balance values. Changed values ar
e stored in
memory. See chapter "PROG-System" (car audio muting). The
screen will display "PHONE".

Volume isreduced while these accessories are in operation. The
screen will display "PHONE".

Several setting possibilities
To help handling the car audio includes the PROG system. Itallows
you to carryout settingswhich are onlyrequired once or
incidentally.

Confirming functions
Thiscar audio is factory set so thatwhen you activate certain keys
a brief confirmation signalisheard.
In the "PROG-System" chapter you willfind outhow to getrid off
thiswarning signalwith the "BEEP" function (Beep off).
Now, instead of a warning signal,
when you press the keys the loud
speakerswill mute.

Amplifier
With the main controlAyou can adjust the volume and the
balance (BAL) bass (BASS) and treble (TREB).
The selected function showsup on the display screen.
Ifyou keep the adjust-key pressed you achieve the average value
(itis shown by the functionsconfirmation signa
l).
For instance, bass adjusting:
Press the BASS key briefly.
Now, with then main control
Ayou can change the bass
performance value.
To return to the average bass value hold the BASS key pressed
untilyou hear the warning sound.

Operation modes
The set allowsyou to switch between varioussources:
– Radio (BAND and "RDS" keys)
– Cassette ("SRC" key)
– CD changer (ifprovided) ("CD" key)
Ifyou are provide with a CD changer connected to the car audio,
and a cassette inserted, you can switch directly between both
sourcesofsound byusing the "SRC" and "CD" keys.
