Cigarette lighter (if equipped)
CAUTION
The electrical power socket located on the lower part of the instrumnet panel is designed to use only a SUBARU genuine cig-arette lighter plug. Do not use non-genuine cigarette lighter plugsor any “plug-in” type electrical accessories in the socket. Doing
so may cause a short-circuit and overheating, resulting in a fire.

p lug is an op tional ac c essory. It is availab le from your SUBARU d ealer.
If smoking is not d esired , always p ut the c ap on th e soc ket to p revent
any foreig n ob jec t from entering it.

WARNING
To avoid being burned, never grasp the lighter by the end with the heating element. Doing so could result in injury and couldalso damage the heating element.

Ashtray
CAUTION
Do not use ashtrays as waste receptacles or leave a lighted ciga-
rette in an ashtray. This could cause a fire.
Front ashtray
Fully c lose the ashtray after using it to help red u c e resid ual smoke.

CAUTION
Never hang anything on the coat hook that might obstruct the
driver’ s view or that could cause injury in sudden stops or in a
collision. And do not hang items on the coat hook that weigh 2.2lb (1 kg) or more.

When leaving your vehic le, make sure the lig ht is t urned off to avoid b at-
tery d isc harg e.
Dome/Rear map reading light (if equipped)
CAUTION
Do not use excessive force or sharp objects to activate the
switches. Do not spray cleaner directly on the dome light lens or the
switches. Remove the lens and use a damp cloth to clean the switch sur-
faces.

Dome light
ON mode: Pressing the “ON ” switc h 7 will turn on main d ome lig ht.
DOOR mode: Pressing the “DOOR ” switc h 6 will allow all three lig hts
to fully illuminate when d oor is op ened and then fa d e out onc e d oor is
c losed . OFF mode: Pressing the “OFF ” switc h

Press the “MAP ON/OFF ” switc h

full intensity. Press a sec ond time to turn it off.n Map light dimming
This area 2 will vary the intensity of the map lig ht d ep end ing on
whic h d imming zone area is p ressed . NOTE The switch color will change to indicate position setting.
Green indicates current switch while the other switches will be
Red . (Map light switches will be Yellow regardless of setting).
Switch indicator lights will shut off when not in use, but will
come back on when any switches are touched. The light assembly is equipped with a time delayed-off feature.
The lights will remain on for a few seconds after all vehicle doorsare closed. If a map light is in use and the door is opened, the map light
will maintain its current setting even after the door is closed. The light assembly is equipped with a 1 hour sleep mode timer
that will turn off any light that may be accidentally left on. Touch-ing any switch will reactivate the unit and allow for continued op-
eration.

Measurement unit selection (Default setting is English units)
The following p roc ed ure is req uired to selec t measu rement units other
than Eng lish.

1. Turn on the ig nition switc h to the “ACC ” p osition and the d isp lay
shows the d efault Eng lish measurement units.
2. Dep ress the “ADJ ” switc h for 5 sec ond s or more and the d isp lay
will show “DEVIATION ” tog ether with the “5 ” and “W ”.

3. Chang e the measurement units b y p ressing the “MODE ” switc h
until the p rop er mod e ap p ears.
4. Press the “ADJ ” switc h to save your selec tion.
NOTE If the setting is not completed in 30 seconds, the display will
return to the initial mode. When the battery is disconnected, you may have to perform
this operation again to reset to the desired units. Compass
