CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The P squib circuit consists of the airbag sensor assy center and the instr\
ument panel passenger airbag
assy.
This circuit actuates the SRS to deploy when the SRS deployment conditions a\
re fulfilled.
DTC B0106/54 is recorded when an open circuit is detected in the P squib\
circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE(P SQUIB CIRCUIT)
(a) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(b) Disconnect the negative (±) terminal cable from the bat-
tery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c) Disconnect the connectors from the airbag sensor assy center and the instrument panel passenger airbag assy.
(d) Measure the resistance between P+ and P± of the con- nector ºCº.
OK:
Resistance: Below 1

2CHECK AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER
(a)Connect the connector to the airbag sensor assy center.
(b)Using SST, connect P+ and P± of the connector ºCº. SST09843±18040
(c)Connect the negative (±) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
(d)Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 10 seconds.
(e)Clear the stored DTCs in the memory (See page 05±1184).
(f) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(g) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 10 seconds.
(h)Check the DTCs (See page 05±1184). OK:
DTC B0106/54 is not output.

3CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIR BAG ASSY(P SQUIB)
(a)Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(b)Disconnect the negative (±) terminal cable from the bat-
tery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c)Connect the connector to the instrument panel passen- ger airbag assy.
(d)Connect the negative (±) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
(e)Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 10 seconds.
(f)Clear the stored DTCs in the memory (See page 05±1184).
(g) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(h) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 10 seconds.

DTC B0105/53 SHORT IN P SQUIB CIRCUIT
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The P squib circuit consists of the airbag sensor assy center and the instrument panel passenger airbag
assy.
This circuit actuates the SRS to deploy when the SRS deployment conditions are fulfilled.
DTC B0105/53 is recorded when a short circuit is detected in the P squib circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE(P SQUIB CIRCUIT)
(a)Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(b)Disconnect the negative (±) terminal cable from the bat-
tery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c)Disconnect the connectors between the airbag sensor assy center and the instrument panel passenger airbag
assy.
(d)Release the activation prevention mechanism built in the
connector ºBº (See page 05±1184).
(e)Measure the resistance between P+ and P± of the con- nector ºEº.
OK:
Resistance: 1 M or Higher
NGREPAIR OR REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE

2CHECK AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER
(a)Connect the connector to the airbag sensor assy center.
(b)Connect the negative (±) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

assy.
This circuit actuates the SRS to deploy when the SRS deployment conditions a\

DTC B0103/12 is recorded when a short to B+ is detected in the D squib c\
ircuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 CHECK D SQUIB CIRCUIT(AIRBAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER ± HORN BUTTON
ASSY)
(a) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(b) Disconnect the negative (±) terminal cable from the bat-
tery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c) Disconnect the connectors from the airbag sensor assy center and the horn button assy.
(d) Connect the negative (±) terminal cable to the battery, and turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(e) Measure the voltage between the body ground and D+ of the connector ºEº.
OK:
Voltage: Below 1 V
NG Go to step 5

tery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c)Connect the connector to the airbag sensor assy center.
(d)Using a service wire, connect D+ and D± of the connector ºEº.
NOTICE:
Do not forcibly insert a service wire into the terminal of the
connector when connecting.
(e)Connect the negative (±) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
(f)Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 10 seconds.
(g)Clear the stored DTCs in the memory (See page 05±1184).
(h) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(i) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at
least 10 seconds.
(j)Check the DTCs (See page 05±1184). OK:
DTC B0103/12 is not output.

(c)Connect the connectors to the horn button assy.
(d)Connect the negative (±) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
(e)Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at
least 10 seconds.
(f)Clear the stored DTCs in the memory (See page 05±1184).
(g) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(h) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at
least 10 seconds.
(i)Check the DTCs (See page 05±1184). OK:

spiral cable sub±assy.
(d) Connect the negative (±) terminal cable to the battery,
and turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
