If a warning message is displayed
Messages and warningsThe warning lights and warning buzzers operate as follows depend-
ing on the content of the message. If a message indicates the need
for inspection by a dealer, have th e vehicle inspected immediately by
your Toyota dealer.
The multi-information display shows warnings of system malfunc-
tions, incorrectly performed op erations, or shows messages that
indicate a need for maintenance. When a message is shown, perform
the correction procedure appropriate to the message.

comes on or flashes when a
message is being shown on
the multi-information display.

If any of the warning messages is shown again after its correction
procedure has been performed, contact your Toyota dealer.

System warning lights
The master warning light does not come on or flash in the following cases.
Instead, a separate system warning light will come on or flash along with the
message shown on the multi-information display.
● Malfunction of the brake system
The brake system warning light (red indicator) comes on. ( P. 500)
● Malfunction of the ABS
The ABS warning light comes on. ( P. 502)
● Malfunction of the charging system
The charging system warning light comes on. ( P. 501)
■ Resetting the tire pressure warning data
After adjusting the tire inflation pressure, be sure to initialize the data.
(P. 444)
If the message remains on, the system may have malfunctioned. Have the
vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer as soon as possible.
NOTICE
■ Engine oil maintenance message
The warning message is based on the projected driving range after engine
oil maintenance message is reset.
The system does not monitor the purity of the engine oil.

If you have a flat tire
Remove the flat tire and replace it with the spare provided.
■Before jacking up the vehicle
●Stop the vehicle on a hard, flat surface.
● Set the parking brake.
● Shift the shift lever to “P”.
● Stop the engine.
● Turn on the emergency flashers.

Remove the cover.

Take out the tool box.
Assemble the jack handle (in the tool box)
Assemble the jack handle exten-
sion as shown. Be sure to tighten
each bolt securely.

Taking out the spare tire
Open the cover.
Insert the jack handle extension
into the lowering screw.Lower

extension to protect the back
door.
Lower the spare tire completely
to the ground.

Pry off the wheel ornament,
using the beveled end of the
wheel ornament remover as
shown.
Slightly loosen the wheel nuts
(one turn).
Assemble the jack handle exten-
sion as shown. Be sure to tighten
each bolt securely.

Front - Under the chassis frame

Rear - Under the rear axle hous-
ing
Raise the vehicle until the tire is
slightly raised off the ground.
Remove all the wheel nuts and
the tire.
When resting the tire on the
ground, place the tire so that the
wheel design faces up to avoid
scratching the wheel surface.
