cle is out of the lanes (while
the LKA [Lane-Keeping Assist]
system is operating). The warning buzzer sounds
continuously. The lane mark-
ings and/or the steering
wheel marking flash.
At the same time,
will appear on the
head-up display (the image
flashes). Check around the
vehicle and back to
inside of the lane
markings.
Indicates that the LKA (Lane-
Keeping Assist) system
detects nohanded driving
(while the lane keeping assist
function is operating). The warning buzzer sounds
twice. Grip the steering
wheel firmly.
The hybrid system has over-
heated. This message may be dis-
played when driving under
severe operating conditions,
and the output of the hybrid
system may temporarily
decrease in order to protect
the system. (For example,
when driving up a long steep
hill or driving up a steep hill in
reverse.) Stop and check.

has elapsed after shifting the
shift position to N.
A buzzer also sounds. Restart the hybrid
system when start-
ing the vehicle.
(Flashes) The transmission is out of P
when attempting to start the
hybrid system.
Shift the shift posi-
tion to P before
pressing the
“POWER” switch.
(Flashes) The driver’s door is opened
when the shift position is in N,
D or B with the hybrid system
on.

tion to P.

position to P, stop
the vehicle com-
pletely and press
the P position
switch.
• To continue driving, shift the shift posi-
tion to D or R.

depressed to stop the vehicle
on an upward slope etc.
A buzzer also sounds.
If this continues, the hybrid
system may overheat. Release the accel-
erator pedal and
depress the brake
pedal.

■Warning message in radar cruise mode (if equipped)
In the following cases, the warning message may not be displayed even if
vehicle-to-vehicle distance decreases:
●When your vehicle and the vehicle ahead are traveling at the same
speed or the vehicle ahead is traveling more quickly than your vehicle.
● When the vehicle ahead is traveling at very low speed.
● Immediately after cruise control speed is set.
● At the instant the accelerator pedal is depressed.
■ The LKA (Lane-Keeping Assist) lane departure warning function (if
equipped)
In the following cases, the warning message will not be displayed even if a
lane line is crossed.
●When the vehicle speed deviates from the operating range of the LKA
system functions
● When the lane lines cannot be recognized
● When the steering wheel is turned as far as necessary to cause the vehi-
cle to change lanes

Have the malfunction repaired immediately.If any of the following warnings is displayed when a hybrid system
start operation is performed, perform the appropriate action accord-
ing to the warning message display.

Indicates an insufficient 12-volt
battery charge. A buzzer also sounds.
• The parking lock mechanism may not function.
• The hybrid system may not be able to start.
• It may not be possible to turn the “POWER” switch off.
If this happens, applying the
parking brake will enable the
switch to be turned off. When parking, park
the vehicle on a flat
surface and apply
the parking brake
securely.
Charge or replace
the 12-volt battery.
After charging the
12-volt battery, the
message may con-
tinue to be dis-
played until the
shift position is
changed from P.
