Coolant additive
The coolant additive is made of anti-freezing and
corrosion protection agents. Only use the follow ­
ing coolant additives . These additives may be
mixed with each other .
Coolant additive Specification
Gl3 TL 774 J
Gl2++ TL 774 G
The amount of coo lant add itive that needs to be
mixed with water depends on the climate where
the vehicle will be operated .
If the coolant addi­
tive percentage is too low, the coolant can freeze
and damage the engi ne.

- Before t he start of winter, have an author­
i zed Audi dealer or author ized Audi Se rvice
Facil ity check if the coolant additive in yo ur
vehicle matches the percentage appropriate
for the climate . Th is is especially important
when driving in co lder climates .
- If the appropriate coolant additive is not available in an emergency, do not add any
other additive. You co uld damage the en­
gine. If this happens, only use water and re­
store the correct mixture ratio with the
spec ified coolant additive as soon as possi­
ble .
- Only refill with new coo lant .
- Radiator sealant must not be mixed with
the coolant.
@ Tips
App lies to: RS models: In certain weather
conditions, moisture such as rain or snow may
evaporate on the rad iator after stopping the
Chec king and Filling
vehicle . This may cause s team to escape from
the front of the vehicle .

Adding coolant
Applies to: vehicles with plug-in hybrid drive:
your vehicle has two coolant expans ion tanks
that are separate from each other. The smaller of
the two expansion tanks must not be opened

Wheels with wheel bolt caps

The cops must be removed first from the wheel
bolts before the bolts con be unscrewed.

Removing
.,. Push the pla stic clip (provided wi th the veh icle
tool kit) over the wheel bolt cap unti l the inner
retainers on the clip align with the edge of the
cover.

Refitting
.,. Place the caps ove r the wheel bo lts and push
them back on.
The caps are to protect and keep the whee l bolts
clean.
Loosening and tightening the wheel bolts
The wheel bolts must be loosened before raising
the vehicle.

- Never use the hexagonal socket in the han­
dle of the screwdr iver to loosen or tighten
the whee l bolts.
- If a wheel bo lt is very tight, yo u may find it
easier to loosen by ca refully pushing dow n
on the e nd of the whee l bolt w rench with
one foot only. As you do so, hold on to the
car to keep yo ur balance and take care not
to slip.

-Do not raise the v ehicl e until you are sure
the jack is securely engaged .
- Passengers must not rema in in the vehicle
when it is jacked up.
- Make sure that passengers wait in a safe
p lace away from the vehicle and well away
from the road and traff ic.
- Make sure jack position is correct, adjust
as necessary and then cont inue to raise
the jack.
CD Note
Do not li ft the vehicle by the sill. Position the
vehicle jack on ly at the designated lifting
points on the sil l. Otherwise, your vehicle will
be damaged.

After you have loosened all whe el bo lts and
raised the vehicle off the gro und, remove and re­
place the wheel as follows:

from the too l kit hand-tight into the empty bo lt

When removing or installing the wheel , the

Spare tire
General information
Applies to: vehicles with space-saving spare tire (compact
spare tire)

The spare tire ~ fig. 293 is intended for short­
term use only . Have the damaged tire checked
and replaced if necessary by an authorized Audi
dealer or authori zed Audi Service Facility as soon
as possible.
There are some restrictions on the use of the
compact spare tire . The compact spare tire has
been designed specifically for your type of vehi­
cle . Do not replace it with the spare tire from an­
other type of vehicle.
Emergency assistance
" Lift the cargo floor by the p lastic handle.
" Hang the p lastic hook on the luggage compart ­
ment sea l

"Turn the handwheel counter-clockwise and re-
move it .
"Remove the spare tire .
Snow chains
For technical reasons, the use of snow chains on
the compact spare tire is not permitted.
If you have to drive wi th snow chains and a front
tire fails, mount the spare tire in place of a rear
tire. Install the snow chains on the rear tire that
you removed, and install that in place of the
front t ire th at failed.
A WARNING
--
- After installing a spare tire, the t ire pres­
sure must be checked as soon as possible.

- Do not drive faste r than SO mph (80 km/h)
with a compact spare t ire. Driving faster
than that increases the risk of an accident.
- To reduce the r isk of an accident, avoid full­
throttle accelerat ion, heavy braking, and
fast cornering with the compact spare tire.
- To reduce the r isk of an accident, neve r drive
with more than one compact spare tire.
- Normal summer or winter t ires must not be
mounted on the compact spare wheel rim .
Removing the subwoofer (version 1)
Applies to: vehicles with subwoofer in the spare wheel well
The subwoofer mus t be removed before the
spare wheel* can be removed .
