vehicle.
Surroundings
This view helps you to maneuver and position the vehicle more precisely.
The area around the vehicle is shown using the camera images. The vehi-
cle image is shown by the system > A\.
Rear
This view assists you in using the full area for maneuvering behind the ve-
hicle. This is the rearview camera image.
Rear corner
This view can assist you when driving out of tight parking spaces or areas
with poor visibility. It shows an almost 180° panorama view behind the
vehicle.
Front tires
This view helps you to see the distance between the front tires and the
curb and the steering wheel angle when parking.
Rear tires
This view helps you to detect the distance between the rear wheels and
the curb when parking.
3D surroundings
In these views, you can see the areas surrounding the vehicle in 3D when
parking. The vehicle surrounding views are created from the camera im-

Only use the images provided by the camera
on the rear of the vehicle when the luggage
compartment lid is completely closed. Make
sure any objects you may have mounted on
the luggage compartment lid do not block the
rearview camera.

— Depending on the selected gear, it will auto-
matically switch between the Front and

Rear views. If you switch the view manually,
the automatic front/rear camera change will
be temporarily deactivated.
— When first activated while a forward gear is
engaged, the Front corner is displayed.

Depending on vehicle equipment and the applica-
ble legal regulations, you may start the assisted
parking process after selecting the parking space

Maneuvering area
The vehicle can go off course during the parking
process
> A\. If there are obstacles within the
maneuvering area that block or endanger the
parking process, for example on the opposite
side of the street, a message may appear. You
may need to drive farther forward and stay closer
to the row of parking spaces.

— The driver is always responsible when enter-
ing or exiting a parking space and during
similar maneuvers.
— Sensors and cameras have spots in which
the surrounding area cannot be detected.
Objects, animals, and people may only be
detected with limitations may not be detect-
ed at all. Always monitor the traffic and the
vehicle's surroundings directly and do not
become distracted.

— Parking spaces classified as suitable by the
system may have been detected incorrectly.
The driver must decide if the parking space
displayed is suitable for the vehicle.

— Certain conditions near the parking space
may cause the parking process to fail, such
as if the parking space is near trees or posts,
or if the ground is covered, for example,
with gravel, snow, or ice.
G) Tips
— If you did not drive past a suitable parking
space
too quickly, the system can also be ac-
tivated afterward by pressing Pe.
— The Electronic Stabilization Control (ESC)
must not be switched off during the parking
process. If the ESC intervenes, the parking
process will be canceled.
— You can also drive into a perpendicular park-
ing space yourself and then activate the sys-
tem. If this is the case, the front of the vehi-
cle should already be in the space @)
=> page 196, fig. 145 so that the sensors
can measure the space.
— The system is not available when certain as-
sist systems are switched on.
—If there are suitable parking spaces on both
sides of the street, for example, on a one-
way street, you can change the side where
the system is searching for parking spaces
by activating the turn signal for the other
side or by pressing on that side in the upper
display.
— The park systems do not provide support for
assisted parking on tight curves.
Park assist plus!)2)
General information
Applies to: vehicles with park assist plus
Park assist plus parks the vehicle after the park-
ing space search and also exits the parking space.
While the driver presses and holds the [>>P] but-
ton and monitors the vehicle's surroundings, park
assist plus controls the steering, gear selection,
acceleration, and braking.

— The driver is always responsible when enter-
ing or exiting a parking space and during
similar maneuvers.
— Do not use this function if the vehicle cannot
move freely, for example when on a vehicle
jack.
— Sensors and cameras have spots in which
the surrounding area cannot be detected.
Objects, animals, and people may only be
detected with limitations may not be detect-
ed at all. Always monitor the traffic and the
vehicle's surroundings directly and do not
become distracted.
@) Note
— Do not use park assist plus when transport-
ing cargo that extends outside of the vehicle
or when snow chains are mounted.
— Park assist plus and remote controlled park-
ing guides the vehicle either away from
curbs or onto them if other vehicles are
parked on the curb. Make sure that your ve-
hicle's tires and rims are not damaged. Re-
sume control of the vehicle in time or stop
the parking process if needed to prevent
damage.
— In parking spaces without curbs, maintain a
distance of at least 19 inches (50 cm) from
walls and buildings in order to reduce the
risk of vehicle damage.
@ Tips
Follow the legal regulations in the country
where you are operating the vehicle when us-
ing park assist plus. Park assist plus may be
prohibited in some countries. The system may
be unavailable in countries where it has been
deactivated in order to comply with legal reg-
ulations. Data will not be transmitted to Audi.
)_ System availability may be limited depending on the mar-
ket.

Parking with park assist plus!)2)

Requirement: a suitable parking space must be
found and selected > page 196. The vehicle must
initially be stationary and the brakes must be
pressed.
> Remove your hands from the steering wheel.
> Pay attention to the path of the vehicle. If the
traffic situation permits it, press and hold the
>>P] button @ and release the brakes > /\.
> Pay attention to the path of the vehicle. In sit-
uations where conditions are unclear, pause the
parking process by releasing the |>>P] button.
For example, this may be necessary if an obsta-
cle appears or the vehicle comes very close to
an obstacle.
> To resume the parking process, press and hold
the |>>P] button again. The rest of the parking >

process will be recalculated based on the vehi-
cle position.
LED in the button (4)
The LED informs about the availability of park as-
sist plus:
— Blinking white - park assist plus is ready to
control the parking process automatically or to
resume after an interruption.
— Green - park assist plus is active.
— Red - park assist plus was paused or stopped. A
message will appear in the instrument cluster
display > page 202.
Indicator in the upper display
The current driving maneuver and the status of
the park assist plus are shown in the upper dis-
play:
@ Path that the vehicle will travel during the
current parking maneuver
@® End point of the current parking maneuver/
direction change
®@ o Park assist plus active

End of the parking process
The parking process will end automatically once
the vehicle has reached the end point in the park-
ing space. After park assist plus finishes parking
successfully, the parking lock will be engaged
and the parking brake will be set.

— Park assist plus is an assist system. The driv-
er is still responsible for monitoring the ve-
hicle's surroundings and preventing colli-
sions when using the system.
— When using park assist plus to drive into or
out of a parking space, the steering wheel
turns quickly on its own. Reaching into the
steering wheel spokes while this is happen-
ing can result in injury.
— Sensors and cameras have spots in which
the surrounding area cannot be detected.
Objects, animals, and people may only be
detected with limitations may not be detect-
ed at all. Always monitor the traffic and the
vehicle's surroundings directly and do not
become distracted.
Z\ WARNING
— Observe the safety precautions and note the

vehicle's path or under the vehicle, and that

G) Tips
— You can reduce the speed specified by the
system at any time by pressing the brake
pedal.
— The system can incorrectly interpret parking
space barriers (such as parking curbs). Take
over the parking process = page 201 if the
vehicle is not completely inside the parking
space or if the vehicle tries to drive over the
parking space barrier.
— The image in the display is an enlarged and
distorted image. Under certain circumstan-
ces, objects may appear different and un-
clear on the display. This is especially true if
there are objects that do not touch the
ground, such as the bumper of a parked ve-
hicle or the rear of a truck. Drive with spe-
cial care and do not use the image if neces-
sary.
— Applies to vehicles with air suspension: The
accuracy of the orientation lines and green
surfaces in the display decreases when the
vehicle is raised or lowered with the air sus-
pension.

Exiting a parking space with park assist
plus!)2)
Applies to: vehicles with park assist plus
If you parked the vehicle in a parallel parking
space, park assist plus can help you drive out of
it.
>» Start the engine.
> Press P@ in the lower display.
> Wait until a message appears on the upper dis-
play that requests you to select the direction to
travel in when exiting the parking space.
> Activate the turn signal on the desired side or
press that side next to the vehicle in the upper
display.
> Remove your hands from the steering wheel.
> Pay attention to the path of the vehicle. If the
traffic situation permits it, press and hold the
>>P] button @ > page 199, fig. 149 and re-
lease the brakes > A\.
> Pay attention to the path of the vehicle. If an
obstacle appears, interrupt the parking process
by releasing the [>>P] button. The vehicle re-
mains stopped.
> To resume the parking process, press and hold
the |>>P] button again.
> The process of exiting the parking space has
ended if additional corrective movements are
no longer necessary and the specified steering
wheel angle is sufficient to drive out of the
parking space. Resume control of the steering
wheel >@).

corrective movement and the takeover
prompt, so that the specified steering wheel

hicle or stop the vehicle at any time by press-
ing the brake pedal.

You can pause park assist plus at any time by re-
leasing the [>>P] button @ > page 199, fig. 149.
To resume the parking process, press and hold
the [>>P] button again.
Canceling automatically
Park assist plus is canceled automatically among
other things, if:
— If you switch off the system
— You take over steering or press the brake pedal,
— If the time limit is exceeded
— If an obstacle is detected
— The ESC intervenes
Resume control of the vehicle, end the parking
process manually, or:
You can resume the parking process in some sit-
uations. Press and hold the brake pedal and press
Pe.

Messages
Applies to: vehicles with park assist plus
If the & or w indicator light turns on, the
park assist is not available or was interrupted.
A message that indicates the cause and possible
solution may appear with some displays. The
weather conditions may be too poor or a sensor
may be covered. Clean the area in front of the
sensors > page 152 and try to turn the system on
again later.
If the malfunction remains, drive to an author-
ized Audi dealer or authorized Audi Service Facili-
ty immediately to have the malfunction correct-
ed.
Remote controlled

Applies to: vehicles with remote park assist plus
Remote controlled parking is part of park assist
plus/park assist plus with garage function. The
process for parking or exiting a parking space can
be controlled with a mobile device from outside
the vehicle. To do so, the driver must have both
the vehicle key and the mobile device with him or
her. While the driver controls the vehicle remote-
ly and monitors the vehicle's surroundings, the
system controls the steering, gear selection, ac-
celeration, braking, and locking the vehicle.

— Remote controlled parking is only an assist
system. The driver is always responsible for
maneuvering, driving, and stopping the ve-
hicle and performing other driving maneu-
vers.
— Do not use this function if the vehicle cannot
move freely, for example when on a vehicle
jack.
— Failing to pay careful attention to the vehi-
cle's surroundings increases the risk of an
accident. Sensors and cameras have spots in
which the surrounding area cannot be de-
tected. Objects, animals, and people may
only be detected with limitations may not
be detected at all. Always monitor the traf-
fic as well as the vehicle's surroundings with
direct eye contact. Stay near the vehicle
while controlling it. Make sure you have a
clear view of the vehicle and the area sur-
rounding it. Do not become distracted.
— Applies to: vehicles with anti-theft alarm
system: There is a risk of fatal injury for peo-
ple locked in the vehicle, especially children.
The vehicle is locked during remote control-
led parking. Make sure there are no persons
inside the vehicle both before and after us-
ing
remote controlled parking.
— There is a risk of asphyxiation. Never allow
the engine to run in confined spaces. After
remote controlled parking, make sure the
engine is off.
— Malfunctions when using the myAudi app in-
crease the risk of an accident. Do not exit
the app during the parking process, and
make sure that it does not go into the device
background, for example by accepting an in-
coming call. Observe the operating instruc-
tions from the manufacturer of your mobile
device.
— There is a risk of accident if the connection is
interrupted. In certain situations, the con-
nection between the mobile device and the
vehicle can be interrupted, for example from
other radio devices or when the distance to

Exiting parking spaces with the myAudi

Applies to: vehicles with remote park assist plus
> Start the myAudi app.
> Start the engine in the myAudi app soon. When
starting, the vehicle key and mobile device
must not be more than approximately 10 feet
(3 m) away from the vehicle.
> Start the parking process with the mobile de-
vice soon. Otherwise, the function will be can-
celed.
> Pay attention to the path of the vehicle. If the
traffic situation permits, drive the vehicle out of
the parking space using the mobile device
> JX. The vehicle key and the mobile device
cannot be more than approximately 20 feet
(6 m) away from the vehicle during remote con-
trolled parking.
> The process for exiting a parking space ends
when the maximum distance is reached or if ad-
ditional corrective movements are no longer
necessary. Unlock and resume manual control
of the vehicle.
If an obstacle appears, stop the parking process
=> page 206.

cle's surroundings increases the risk of an
accident. Park your vehicle with the mobile
device only if you are sure that no obstacle is

You can interrupt the path set by the vehicle,
for example if it will drive very close to an ob-
stacle, by pausing the parking process using
the mobile device. Based on the position of

additional steering and driving directions for
maneuvering.
Interrupting remote controlled parking)
Applies to: vehicles with remote park assist plus
To stop the vehicle, you can temporarily pause re-
mote controlled parking at any time using your
mobile device.
You can also completely stop the parking process
and come to full stop immediately using the ve-
hicle key by pressing any button on the vehicle
key. Therefore, always keep the vehicle key with
you during the remote controlled parking proc-
ess.
Canceling automatically
The remote controlled parking will be canceled
automatically in the following situations, among
other things:
— If the myAudi app is not started soon after exit-
ing the vehicle,
— If you switch off the system
— If the time limit is exceeded
— The ESC intervenes
Taking over the parking process
After canceling the parking process, the vehicle
will come to a stop and the "P" position will be
engaged. Take over control of the vehicle, end the
parking process manually, and stop the vehicle.
You can also restart the entire parking process
from inside the vehicle.

Accessing favorites
> Applies to: MMI/Rear Seat Remote: Select on
the home screen: PHONE > Favorites.
Opening favorites using the multifunction

Storing favorites

Deleting favorites

Managing the directory
Applies to: vehicles with telephone
You can manage up to four directories in the
MMI.
Requirement: a mobile device must be connected
to the MMI.
Opening the directory
> Applies to: MMI/Rear Seat Remote: Select on
the home screen: PHONE > Contacts.
The contacts will be displayed. You can change
the sort order > page 219, Sort order.
Deleting imported contacts
Requirement: you must have imported at least
one contact > page 219.
> Select: Contacts > Z > one or more text mes-
sages > Delete > (Done). The imported contacts
are deleted.
Directory options
» Press and hold a contact in the directory until
the Options menu appears.

Depending on your mobile device, the following
options may be available:
— Store as favorite > page 215.
— Send contact: you can select Text message or
E-mail > page 219.
— Send text message > page 219.
— Send e-mail > page 220.
— Save as a shortcut > page 24, Shortcuts.
G) Tips
— Pay attention to any synchronization
prompts on your mobile device when down-
loading contacts.
— The contacts from the mobile device may
not be transferred in alphabetical order. If
there are too many entries, contacts with
different first letters may be missing in the
MMI.
— Only the contacts from the active connected
mobile device are displayed.
— The contacts in the local MMI memory are
always visible and can be accessed by other
users.
— After switching off the ignition and exiting
the vehicle, the mobile device directory will
be loaded when the MML is started again if
the mobile device is within range and the
Bluetooth function is switched on in the mo-
bile device and the MMI.
— Only the contacts in the local MMI memory
can be deleted.
Opening business cards
Applies to: vehicles with telephone
The business card shows you details about a con-
tact.
> To open a business card, press on a contact in
the directory, or
> Press @ in the call list ©) > page 215, fig. 156.
Possible options in the business card:
> Call: press on a phone number.
> Storing a favorite: press YW.
> Deleting a favorite: press Ww.
> Sending a text message: press |.
» Starting navigation: press on an address.
> Sending an e-mail: press on an e-mail address. >

Listening to voicemail
Applies to: vehicles with telephone
> Applies to: MMI/Rear Seat Remote: Select on
the home screen: PHONE > Voicemail.
Requirement: there must be no voicemail num-
ber stored.
>» Entering the voicemail number: enter the de-
sired number. Press OK.
Requirement: a voicemail number must be stor-
ed.
> Dialing the voicemail number: press Voice-
mail. The call begins immediately.
@® Tips
This service must be set up and activated by
the mobile phone service provider.
Dialing a telephone number
Applies to: vehicles with telephone
Depending on the vehicle equipment, you may
have the following options for dialing a phone
number:
— Using text input in the MMI > page 25.
— Using voice operation > page 34.
— by text input through the Rear Seat Remote
=> page 25.
Call options
Applies to: vehicles with telephone
> To accept or end a call, press the @ button on
the multifunction steering wheel. Operating
=> page 13 and > page 37.
Depending on your mobile device, the following
options may be available in the MMI or in the
Rear Seat Remote* when there is an incoming
call:
— Answer
— Decline
— Message |
If you exit the vehicle during a phone call, the
Bluetooth connection will be disconnected. De-
pending on your mobile device, phone calls in
progress may be automatically transferred from
the MMI to your mobile device.
G) Tips
The radio or media playback is muted during a
phone call.
During a phone call
Applies to: vehicles with telephone
Depending on your mobile device and the type of
connection, the following options may be availa-
ble during a call:
— End call
— Mute
Sending a tone sequence
Press Numbers. You can enter tone sequences
(DTMF) and send them to the other party on the
call.
Hold
Puts the current call on hold. To resume the call,
press Resume.
Answering an incoming call
One of these options will be available, depending
on the mobile phone service provider:
— Answer: the current phone call will be put on
hold. The incoming call will be answered.
— Replace: the active call will be replaced with
the incoming call.
Declining an incoming call
If you select Decline, the incoming call will be de-
clined.
Conference
Requirement: two phone calls must be in prog-
ress.
Depending on your mobile phone service provid-
er, you can add a call on hold and up to five active
callers to a conference call.
