isdesignedto recorddatarelatedtovehicledy-

time,typically30secondsorless.TheEDRinthis
vehicleisdesignedtorecordsuchdataas:
—Howvarioussystemsinyourvehiclewereoper-
ating;
—Whetherornot thedriverandpassengersafety
beltswerebuckled/fastened;
—Howfar(ifatall)thedriverwasdepressingthe
acceleratorand/orbrakepedal;and,
—Howfastthevehiclewastraveling.
Thesedatacanhelpprovideabetterunderstand-
ingofthecircumstancesinwhichcrashesandin-
juriesoccur.NOTE:EDRdataarerecordedbyyour
vehicleonlyifanon-trivialcrashsituationoccurs;
nodataarerecordedbytheEDRundernormal
drivingconditionsandnopersonaldata(e.g.,

Vehicle controlmodules
Yourvehicleisalsoequippedwithanumberof

during normalvehicleoperationthatmaybe
neededbytrainedtechniciansfordiagnosticand

Onlyasmallamountofdataisactuallyrecorded
overaverylimitedperiodoftime,orstoredwhen
