tion at a glance, such as if a mobile device is con-
nected or if there is a data connection. The most
common symbols are listed in the table.

play. After a specified time, they will be hidden
and a corresponding symbol will appear in the
status bar ©) > page 20, fig. 13. In the notifica-
tion center, you can view these notifications @
= fig. 15 and apply quick settings @.
Using the notification center
> To open the notification center, pull the status
bar downward, or
> Press the =] button on the status bar.
> To apply quick settings, press the respective

> To obtain additional information about a notifi-
cation, press it.

— Your mobile device should have a sufficient
battery charge level. If necessary, charge
the mobile device before starting to drive.
— Do not use the remote controlled parking
function with devices that are faulty or dam-
aged or whose function is impaired. Only
use the operating systems approved by the
mobile device manufacturer.
— When using remote controlled parking, al-
ways pay attention to the areas where your
vehicle can be accessed. Check that no one
can enter your vehicle and if the vehicle has
been locked after parking is completed.
Take the vehicle key with you when leaving
the vehicle.

The following steps must be completed before
using for the first time:
> Create a myAudi account by registering in the
myAudi app or at my.audi.com, depending on
your country.
> Add your vehicle to your myAudi account.
> Set the key user > page 31.
> Install the myAudi app on your mobile device
and log in with your access information.
Device compatibility
The mobile device will be checked at the start of
a parking procedure. If an incompatibility is de-
tected, it will be displayed in the myAudi app.
Audi does not recommend using the function if
an incompatibility is detected > A\.
A selection of supported Bluetooth devices can
be found in the database for tested mobile devi-
ces at www.audi.com/bluetooth. Compatibility
cannot be guaranteed for all types of mobile de-
vices. The availability depends on the following
factors, among others:
— Brand and build version of the mobile device
D_ System availability may be limited depending on the mar-
ket.

rage function
— Version of the mobile device operating system
— Software version of the app used
— Individual settings on the mobile device

— There is a risk of an accident if an incompati-
ble mobile device is used. If there is a dis-
play indicating that functionality is restrict-
ed, the vehicle’s reaction speed may be im-
paired due to reduced transmission speed.

— When parking in garages, you can be
straight in front of the garage or at a slight
angle in front of the garage. You will have
the best results when you align and stop
your vehicle as straight as possible in front
of the garage.
— If there is enough space in a two-car garage,
the system automatically selects the park-
ing position in front of the vehicle that the
driver has selected.

Requirements
> The setup has been completed.
> You are logged into the vehicle with your myAu-
di user.
> Bluetooth is switched on in the mobile device

> A suitable parking space has been found anda

> The vehicle must initially be stationary.
Preparing the vehicle
> To enable the selected parking space (2) for re-
mote controlled parking, press ] @) on the up-
per display.
> If you have already approached a parking space
in the vehicle, remote controlled parking can be
activated to continue with the rest of the park-
)_ system availability may be limited depending on the mar-
ket.

> Exit the vehicle while the engine is running and
take the vehicle key with you. Always keep both
the vehicle key and the mobile device with you
during the entire remote controlled parking
process.
> Make sure that all doors and the luggage com-
partment lid are closed.
Starting the parking process
> Start the myAudi app soon, or the function will
be canceled.
> Pay attention to the path of the vehicle. If the
traffic situation permits, park your vehicle in
the parking space using the mobile device
> J\. The vehicle key and the mobile device
cannot be more than approximately 20 feet
(6 m) away from the vehicle.
> Pay attention to the path of the vehicle. In un-
clear situations, pause the parking process us-
ing the mobile device. For example, this may be
necessary if an obstacle appears or the vehicle
comes very close to an obstacle.
> To resume the parking process, start it again on
the mobile device. The rest of the parking proc-
ess will be recalculated based on the vehicle po-
sition.
End of the parking process
If an obstacle appears, stop the parking process
=> page 180.
The parking process will end automatically once
the vehicle has reached the end point in the park-
ing space. Once parking is successfully complet-
ed, the parking lock will be engaged, the parking
brake will be set, and the engine will switch off.
The vehicle will also be locked.

Introduction
Applies to: vehicles with telephone
You can operate various telephone functions easi-
ly through the MMI in your vehicle.
Depending on the country and the vehicle equip-
ment, the following options may be available:
— Connecting a cell phone with Bluetooth
— Using two telephones
— Using the Audi phone box
ZA WARNING
— Medical experts warn that mobile devices
can interfere with the function of pacemak-
ers. Always maintain a minimum distance of
about 7.9 inches (20 cm) between the mo-
bile device antennas and the pacemaker.
— Do not carry the mobile device in a pocket
directly over the pacemaker when the
phone is switched on.
— Switch the mobile device off immediately
if you suspect it may be interfering with
the pacemaker.
— Do not use the voice recognition system*
= page 27 in emergencies because your
voice may change in stressful situations. The
system may take longer to dial the number
or may not be able to dial it at all. Dial the
emergency number manually.
— Switch your mobile device off in areas where
there is a risk of an explosion. These loca-
tions are not always clearly marked. This
may include gas stations, fuel and chemical
storage facilities or transport vehicles, or lo-
cations where fuel vapors (such as propane
or gasoline vapor in vehicles or buildings),
chemicals or large quantities of dust parti-
cles (such as flour, sawdust or metal) may
be present in the air. This also applies to all
other locations where you would normally
turn your vehicle engine off.
— The demands of traffic require your full at-
tention. Always read the chapter > page 19,
Traffic safety information.

— The Bluetooth connection range is limited
to inside the vehicle.
—Aselection of supported Bluetooth devices
can be found in the database for tested mo-
bile devices at www.audi.com/bluetooth.
Setup
Connecting a mobile phone via Bluetooth
Applies to: vehicles with telephone
Requirement: the vehicle must be stationary and
the ignition must be switched on. The Bluetooth
settings must be open on your mobile device dur-
ing the connection setup. The mobile device to be
connected must not be actively connected to any
other Bluetooth device. The MMI must only be
connected to one mobile device.
> Enable the Bluetooth function and visibility on
the MMI = page 237 and the mobile phone.
> Applies to: MMI: Select on the home screen:
PHONE.
> Follow the system instructions. The available
Bluetooth devices will be displayed after sever-
al seconds.
> Press on the desired mobile device in the list of
displayed Bluetooth devices.
> To update the list, press OQ.
A PIN for a secure Bluetooth connection will be
generated.
> Confirm the PIN on your mobile device.
> Follow the system instructions.
> Pay attention to any other system prompts on
the MMI and on your cell phone.
After connecting successfully
The cell phone contacts are automatically loaded
in the MMI. This process can take several mi-
nutes, depending on the number of contacts.
Depending on your cell phone and the connection
type, you can use the following functions:

Handsfree
Requirement: your cell phone must be connected
to the MMI via a Bluetooth Hands Free Profile
(Bluetooth HFP).
You can use the hands-free system. You can make
calls using the antenna on your mobile device.
Sending and receiving messages
See > page 191.
@) Tips
— Pay attention to any system prompts dis-
played on your mobile device or the MMI,
for example if the system should connect
automatically in the future. Depending on
the mobile device, you may need to down-
load contacts and confirm access to your
messages separately.
— You can also search for the MMI on your mo-
bile device using the Bluetooth device
search.
— You only have to pair your device one time.
Bluetooth devices that are already paired
automatically connect to the MMI when the
Bluetooth function is switched on, when
they are within range, and when the ignition
is switched on. The last connected mobile
device is given first priority.
— You can manage additional settings for con-
nected mobile devices in the Connected de-
vices menu > page 238.
— When leaving the vehicle, the Bluetooth
connection to the mobile device will auto-
matically disconnect. Depending on your
mobile device, phone calls in progress may
be automatically redirected from the MMI
to your mobile device so that you can con-
tinue the call on your phone.
Using two telephones
Applies to: vehicles with telephone, and Audi phone box
You can connect two mobile phones to the MMI
at the same time using the Bluetooth HFP, for ex-
ample a business phone and a private phone. You
can be reached in your vehicle through both mo-
bile phones.

sage Access Profile (MAP): You can send and re-
ceive messages with both mobile devices

Connecting another mobile device
Requirement: a mobile device must be connected
to the MMI. The vehicle must be stationary and
the ignition must be switched on. The Bluetooth
settings must be open on your mobile device dur-
ing the connection setup. The mobile device to be
connected must not be actively connected to any
other Bluetooth device.
> Enable the Bluetooth function and visibility on

Depending on vehicle equipment, you may be
able to use the following functions with the Audi
phone box:
— Make phone calls using the vehicle’s exterior
antenna
— Charge a mobile device using the USB input
— Charge a mobile device wirelessly
— Reminder signal
Limitations
In some situations, the functions of the Audi
phone box may be limited or temporarily unavail-
able. For example, this may happen if
— There is one more than mobile device in the
Audi phone box
— The mobile device is located in a bag or a pro-
tective case
— There are objects between the Audi phone box
and the mobile device
— The mobile device is not positioned in the cen-
ter of the Audi phone box

Loose objects can be thrown around the vehi-
cle interior during sudden driving or braking
maneuvers, which increases the risk of an ac-
cident. Store objects securely while driving.

Operation of the Audi phone box is subject to

— This is a CONSUMER device.
— BEFORE USE, you MUST REGISTER THIS DE-
VICE with your wireless provider and have
your provider’s consent. Most wireless pro-
viders consent to the use of signal boosters.
Some providers may not consent to the use
of this device on their network. If you are
unsure, contact your service provider.
— You MUST operate this device with approved
antennas and cables as specified by the
manufacturer. Antennas MUST be installed
at least 20 cm (8 inches) from any person.

Mobile device reminder signal
Applies to: vehicles with Audi phone box
When the device reminder signal is switched on,
you will be notified that your mobile device is still
in the Audi phone box when you leave the vehicle.
Requirement: your mobile device must be located
in the Audi phone box (if Qi-capable) or connect-
ed to the Audi music interface with a USB adapt-
er, and the Audi smartphone interface must be
active or your iPhone must be connected to the
MMI via Bluetooth and charging using a USB
adapter connected to the Audi music interface.

SETTINGS > General > Reminder signal and
mobile device charging.
The following settings may be available, depend-
ing on vehicle equipment:
— Signal tone
— Off
Spoken cue
this setting is switched on at the factory.
Mobile device notes: reminder, charge level
When this function is switched on, the charge
status of your mobile device is displayed. You will
also be reminded not to forget your mobile de-
vice when leaving the vehicle.

always visible and can be accessed by other
users.
— After switching off the ignition and exiting
the vehicle, the mobile device directory will
be loaded when the MMI is started again if
the mobile device is within range and the
Bluetooth function is switched on in the mo-
bile device and the MMI.
— Only the contacts in the local MMI memory
can be deleted.
Opening business cards
Applies to: vehicles with telephone
The business card shows you details about a con-
tact.
> To open a business card, press on a contact in
the directory, or
> Press © in the call list ©) > page 187, fig. 141.
Possible options in the business card:
> Call: press on a phone number.
> Storing a favorite: press W.
> Deleting a favorite: press W.
> Sending a text message: press {1.
>» Starting navigation: press on an address.
> Sending an e-mail: press on an e-mail address.
> Send contact: you can select Text message or
E-mail > page 191.

Listening to voicemail
Applies to: vehicles with telephone
> Applies to: MMI: Select on the home screen:
PHONE > Voicemail.
Requirement: there must be no voicemail num-
ber stored.
> Entering the voicemail number: enter the de-
sired number. Press OK.
Requirement: a voicemail number must be stor-
ed.
> Dialing the voicemail number: press Voice-
mail. The call begins immediately.

This service must be set up and activated by
the mobile phone service provider.
Dialing a telephone number
Applies to: vehicles with telephone
Depending on the vehicle equipment, you may
have the following options for dialing a phone
number:
— Using text input in the MMI > page 24.
— Using voice operation > page 27.
Call options
Applies to: vehicles with telephone
> To accept or end a call, press the @ button on
the multifunction steering wheel. Operating
=> page 13 and © page 30.
Depending on your mobile device, the following
options may be available in the MMI when there
is an incoming call:
— Answer
— Decline
— Message
If you exit the vehicle during a phone call, the
Bluetooth connection will be disconnected. De-
pending on your mobile device, phone calls in
progress may be automatically transferred from
the MMI to your mobile device.
G) Tips
The radio or media playback is muted during a
phone call.

Depending on your mobile device and the type of
connection, the following options may be availa-
ble during a call:
— End call
— Mute

Sending a tone sequence
Press Numbers. You can enter tone sequences
(DTMF) and send them to the other party on the
call.
Hold
Puts the current call on hold. To resume the call,
press Resume.
Answering an incoming call
One of these options will be available, depending
on the mobile phone service provider:
— Answer: the current phone call will be put on
hold. The incoming call will be answered.
— Replace: the active call will be replaced with
the incoming call.
Declining an incoming call
If you select Decline, the incoming call will be de-
clined.
Conference
Requirement: two phone calls must be in prog-
ress.
Depending on your mobile phone service provid-
er, you can add a call on hold and up to five active
callers to a conference call.
Swap call
Requirement: two phone calls must be in prog-
ress.
You can alternate between two phone calls.
Additional call options
Press More.
Depending on the mobile device being used and
the type of connection, the following options
may be available:
Transfer call to mobile device
Transfer the current call to your mobile device or
Bluetooth headset*.
Switch to hands-free
Transfer the current call from your mobile device
to the MMI.

Add call
You can start a new call. The current call will be
put on hold.
Remove conference member
You can remove conference call members individ-

Making an emergency call

Requirement: a mobile device must be connected
to the MMI.

— Because your phone works with radio sig-
nals, a connection cannot be guaranteed un-
der all circumstances. Do not rely on only
your phone when it comes to essential com-
munication (such as during a medical emer-
