Wi-Fi hotspot
Applies to: vehicles with Wi-Fi hotspot
You con use the MMI as o Wi-Fi hotspot to con
nect up to eight Wi- Fi devices to the Internet.
While driving, restricted use of unsecured, light,
small wireless devices is only possible from the
rear of the vehicle.
Requirement: the ignition must be switched on.

The MMI Wi-Fi hotspot is deactivated at the fac

- Snow and obstructions on the GPS antenna
or interference caused by trees and large buildings can impair satellite reception and
affect the system's ability to determine the
vehicle position . Several deact ivated or mal
funct ion ing sate llites ca n also inte rrupt GPS
r eception and affect the system's ab ility to
determ ine the veh icle posi tion.
- Because st reet names sometimes change,
the n ames stored in the MMI may in rare
cases differ from the ac tual s treet name .
Entering a destination
Free text search for destinations
Applies to: ve hicles w ith navigation system
Using the MMI touch control pad, you can enter
the data fo r a navigation dest inat ion in any orde r
all at once (fo r example , monument Wash ing
ton). Likew ise, you can sea rch fo r po in ts of inter
est, contacts, previous desti nations or favor ites
to naviga te to the des ired add ress.

-The online map view is an Audi connect serv
ice and is regularly updated when the func
tion is opened. The process may take several
seconds.
- When the on line map view is switched on
us ing the 30 map orientation, the MMI dis
play automatically switches to the 20 map
orientation when driving through tunnels.
- For safety reasons, the Street View func
tions can only be used when the vehicle is
stationary.

When receiving traffic information t hrough TMC/
online -depending on availability -you can have
the MMI navigate you around traffic incidents, if
poss ible.
Reception of traffic information is indicated by
the ITMC ! or ION LINE I symbo l on the map
c:::> page 147, fig. 128.
The MMI con receive real-time traffic information about congestion accidents, rood construction and
other incidents from the Internet.

SIM PIN settings*
- Automatic PIN entry:
when t his fu nction is
swi tched on@', the S IM PIN is automa tically
saved in t he MMI after it is e nte red for the firs t
t im e. The S IM PIN fo r f our di fferen t SIM car ds
c a n b e save d in t he MM I. W ith the func tion
swit ched o ff, the cu rrently store d SI M P IN i s
deleted from the MMI. When t he a utomat ic
PI N entry is switc hed on, there a re no SI M PIN
prompts.
- Disable PIN query : when switched on, the re are
no SIM PI N quer ies. The a utomat ic PIN entry is
not used in t his case.
- Change PIN : you can change t he PI N on your
SIM card . First enter the c urrent SI M PIN. The
SIM PIN may only contai n dig its 0-9. The new
SIM PIN must be ente red twice for secur ity and
then it w ill be saved to the SI M card.
