Satellite Radio
Vehicles with an XM™ satellite radio
tuner and a valid XM satellite radio
subscription can receive XM
programming.
XM Satellite Radio Service
XM is a satellite radio service based
in the 48 contiguous United States
and 10 Canadian provinces. XM
satellite radio has a wide variety of
programming and commercial-free music, coast to coast, and in
digital-quality sound. A fee is
required to receive the XM service.

Portable Audio Devices
Some vehicles have a 3.5 mm
(1/8 in) auxiliary input and a USB
port located in the center console.
External devices such as iPods
®,
laptop computers, MP3 players, CD
changers, and USB storage devices
may be connected, depending on
the audio system.

Devices on page 7‑33.
Bluetooth®
The Bluetooth system allows users
with a Bluetooth-enabled cell phone
to make and receive hands-free
calls using the vehicle audio system
and controls.
The Bluetooth-enabled cell phone
must be paired with the in-vehicle
Bluetooth system before it can be
used in the vehicle. Not all phones
will support all functions.

Mobile Apps
Mobile apps are available for
download through iTunes®to then
access the iPhone®App Store and
Google™ Marketplace for
Android™. Search for the apps to
download. The apps are free of
charge; however, myCadillac
requires the user to link their own
vehicle and OnStar MyLink requires
an active OnStar subscription.

I:Press to turn the system on or
off. The indicator light on the button
turns on when cruise control is on.
+RES : Press to make the vehicle
accelerate or resume to a previously
set speed.
−SET : Press to set the speed or
make the vehicle decelerate.
[: Press to cancel cruise control
without erasing the set speed from
memory.

Navigation System
If the vehicle has a navigation
system, there is a separate
navigation system manual that
includes information on the radio,
audio players, and navigation
system.
The navigation system provides
detailed maps of most major
freeways and roads. After a
destination has been set, the
system provides turn-by-turn
instructions for reaching the destination. In addition, the system
can help locate a variety of points of
interest (POIs), such as banks,
airports, restaurants, and more.

for more information.
Driver Information
Center (DIC)
The DIC display is located at the
bottom of the instrument panel
cluster. It shows the status of many
vehicle systems and enables
access to the personalization menu.
The DIC buttons are located on the
instrument panel to the left of the
steering wheel.

Press to scroll through the
trip and fuel displays.
T: Press to scroll through the
vehicle information displays.
U: Press to customize the feature
settings on your vehicle. See
Vehicle Personalization on
page 5‑46 for more information.
V:Press to reset certain DIC
features and to acknowledge DIC
warning messages and clear them
from the DIC display.
yorz: Press to scroll up and
down the menu items.

Power Outlets
Accessory power outlets can be
used to plug in electrical equipment,
such as a cell phone or MP3 player.
There are three accessory power
outlets. The power outlets located
below the climate control system,
inside the center console storage
bin, and on the rear of the center
console are powered while the
vehicle is in ON/RUN, START or
ACC/ACCESSORY mode, or until
the driver door is opened within
10 minutes of turning off the vehicle.
On the CTS Wagon there is an
additional accessory power outlet
located near the rear cargo net that
is powered at all times.
Remove the cover to access and
replace when not in use.

Universal Remote System
The Universal Home Remote
System allows for garage door
openers, security systems, and
home automation devices to be
programmed to work with these
buttons in the vehicle.

Sunroof
The ignition must be in ON/RUN or
ACC/ACCESSORY, or in Retained
Accessory Power (RAP), to operate
the sunroof and power sunshade.

on page 9‑22. The sunroof switches are on the
overhead console.
The driver side switch (A) operates
the sunshade.
Open/Close:
Press the front or
rear of the switch (A) to open or
close the sunshade.
Express Open/Express Close:
Press and release the rear or front
of the switch (A) to express open or
express close the sunshade.
The passenger side switch (B)
operates the sunroof.

Power Outlets
Accessory power outlets can be
used to plug in electrical equipment,

Notice:
Leaving electrical
equipment plugged in for an
extended period of time while
the vehicle is off will drain the
battery. Always unplug electrical
equipment when not in use and
do not plug in equipment that
exceeds the maximum 20 ampere
rating.
Certain electrical accessories
may not be compatible with the
accessory power outlet and could
overload vehicle or adapter fuses.
If a problem is experienced, see
your dealer.
When adding electrical equipment,
be sure to follow the proper
installation instructions included
with the equipment. See Add-On
Electrical Equipment on page 9‑61. Notice:
Hanging heavy
equipment from the power outlet
can cause damage not covered
by the vehicle warranty. The
power outlets are designed for
accessory power plugs only, such
as cell phone charge cords.
Cigarette Lighter
The vehicle may have a cigarette
lighter. To use the lighter, push it in
all the way and let go. When it is
ready, it will pop back out by itself.
Notice: Holding a cigarette lighter
in while it is heating does not let
the lighter back away from the
heating element when it is hot.
Damage from overheating can
occur to the lighter or heating
element, or a fuse could be
blown. Do not hold a cigarette
lighter in while it is heating.

system's features.

entertainment tasks while driving.
This system provides access to
many audio and non‐audio listings.

Backglass Antenna
The AM-FM antenna is integrated
with the rear window defogger,
located in the rear window. Make
sure that the inside surface of the
rear window is not scratched and
that the lines on the glass are not
damaged. If the inside surface is
damaged, it could interfere with
radio reception. For proper radio
reception, the antenna connector
needs to be properly attached to
the post on the glass.
If a cellular telephone antenna
needs to be attached to the glass,
make sure that the grid lines for the
AM-FM antenna are not damaged.
There is enough space between
the grid lines to attach a cellular
telephone antenna without
interfering with radio reception.
Notice:Using a razor blade or
sharp object to clear the inside
rear window can damage the rear
window antenna and/or the rear
window defogger. Repairs would not be covered by the vehicle
warranty. Do not clear the inside
rear window with sharp objects.
Notice:
Do not apply aftermarket
glass tinting with metallic film.
The metallic film in some tinting
materials will interfere with or
distort the incoming radio
reception. Any damage caused to
your backglass antenna due to
metallic tinting materials will not
be covered by the vehicle
warranty.
Multi-Band Antenna
The antenna located on the roof of
the vehicle is used for the OnStar,
XM Satellite Radio Service System,
and GPS (Global Positioning
System), if the vehicle has these
features. Keep the antenna clear
of obstructions for clear reception.
If the vehicle has a sunroof and it is
open, the performance of OnStar,
XM, and GPS can be affected.
Audio Players
CD Player
The infotainment system's CD
player can play audio CDs and
MP3 CDs.
CDs that are 8 cm (3 in) in diameter
will not work in the CD player.
Care of CDs
If playing a CD, the sound quality
can be reduced due to disc quality,
the method of recording, the quality
of the music that has been
recorded, and the way the disc has
been handled. Handle discs
carefully. Store CDs in their original
cases or other protective cases and
away from direct sunlight and dust.
The CD player scans the bottom
surface of the disc. If the surface of
a disc is damaged, such as cracked,
broken, or scratched, the disc may
not play properly or not at all. Do
not touch the bottom side of a disc
while handling it; this could damage

the surface. Pick up discs by
grasping the outer edges or the
edge of the hole and the outer edge.
If the surface of a disc is soiled,
take a soft, lint‐free cloth or dampen
a clean, soft cloth in a mild, neutral
detergent solution mixed with water,
and clean it. Make sure the wiping
process starts from the center to
the edge.
Care of the CD Player
Do not add a label to a disc; it could
get caught in the CD player. If a
label is needed, label the top of the
recorded disc with a marking pen.
The use of disc lens cleaners for
discs is not advised, due to the risk
of contaminating the lens of the disc
optics with lubricants internal to the
CD player mechanism.
Notice:If a label is added to a
CD, more than one CD is inserted
into the slot at a time, or an
attempt is made to play scratched
or damaged CDs, the CD player
could be damaged. While using the CD player, use only CDs in
good condition without any label,
load one CD at a time, and keep
the CD player and the loading slot
free of foreign materials, liquids,
and debris.
Control Buttons
The knobs and buttons used to
control the CD player are:
CD:
Press to play a CD when
listening to the radio. The disc and/
or track number display when a CD
is in the player.
¨SEEK or©SEEK: Press to
select tracks.
TUNE/TONE: Turn and then press
to select tracks.
MENU/SELECT: Turn and then
press to select.
r/j(Play/Pause): Press to pause
and restart CD playback.
sREV (Fast Reverse): Press
and hold to reverse playback quickly
within a track.
\FWD (Fast Forward): Press
and hold to advance playback
quickly within a track.
^(Load): Press to load CDs into
the Six-Disc CD player.
Z(Eject): Press to eject the disc.
For the Six-Disc CD player, press
and hold for two seconds to eject all
discs.
Inserting a CD (Single Disc
Player)
With the printed side facing up,
insert a CD into the audio CD slot
until it is drawn in. The CD track
number and a Shuffle tab display
and playback begins.
If the ignition or radio is turned off
while a CD is in the player, it stays
in the player. When the ignition or
radio is turned on, the CD starts
playing where it stopped, if it was
the last selected audio source.

Inserting a CD (Six-Disc CD
Player)
^(Load):Press to load CDs into
the CD player. This CD player holds
up to six CDs.
To insert one CD:
1. Press and release
^.
2. Wait for the message to insert the disc.
3. Load a CD. Insert the CD partway into the slot, label side
up. The player pulls the CD in.
A Shuffle tab and the DISC icon
display.
4. Press the softkey located below the Shuffle tab to play the tracks
of a current disc in random
order. Press the softkey again to
turn Shuffle off. Shuffle Off
displays.
5. The CD resumes normal playback. To insert multiple CDs:
1. Press and hold
^for
five seconds. A beep sounds
and Load All Discs displays.
2. Follow the displayed instruction on when to insert the discs. The
CD player takes up to six CDs.
3. Press
^again to cancel
loading more CDs.
If the ignition or radio is turned off
while a CD is in the player, it stays
in the player. When the ignition or
radio is turned on, the CD starts
playing where it stopped, if it was
the last selected audio source.
When a CD is inserted, the disc
number displays on the upper right
side of the screen and the track
number displays at the left and
center of the screen. The Shuffle
and Disc labels appear below. Press
the softkeys located under the Disc tab to change to another disc. The
CD begins playback of the first track
on the selected disc. As each new
track starts to play, the track number
displays in the left and center of the
screen.
Playing a CD
Selecting a CD Track
Tracks can be selected using the
seek buttons, TUNE/TONE knob,
or MENU/SELECT knob.
To use the seek buttons:
Press
©SEEK to go to the start of
the current track, if more than
five seconds have played. Press
¨
SEEK to go to the next track. If©
SEEK or¨SEEK is held,
or pressed multiple times, the player
continues moving backward or
forward through the tracks on
the CD.

To use the TUNE/TONE knob or the
MENU/SELECT knob:
Turn the TUNE/TONE knob or the
MENU/SELECT knob to highlight
the desired track, then press the
TUNE/TONE knob or MENU/
SELECT knob to select the track.
Fast Forward and Rewind
sREV (Fast Reverse):Press
and hold to reverse playback quickly
within a track. Sound is heard at a
reduced volume and the elapsed
time of the track displays. Release
to resume playing the track.
\FWD (Fast Forward): Press
and hold to advance playback
quickly within a track. Sound is
heard at a reduced volume and the
elapsed time of the track displays.
Release to resume playing the
track.
Playing Tracks in Random Order
Press the softkey under the Shuffle
tab to play the tracks of a CD in
random order. Press again to turn
Shuffle off. Shuffle Off displays. For vehicles with a Radio with
Six-Disc CD player, the shuffle
feature only works on the disc
that is currently playing.
Playing an MP3/WMA Disc
CD players with the MP3 feature are
capable of playing an MP3/WMA
CD-R or CD-RW disc. See
MP3 on
page 7‑24 for more information.
Disc Messages
DISC ERROR: If this message
displays and/or the disc ejects, it
could be for one of the following
reasons:
.The radio system does not
support the playlist format, the
compressed audio format, or the
data file format.
.It is very hot. When the
temperature returns to normal,
the disc should play.
.The road is very rough. When
the road becomes smoother, the
disc should play.
.The disc is dirty, scratched, wet,
or upside down.
.The air is very humid. If so, wait
about an hour and try again.
.There was a problem while
burning the disc.
.The label is caught in the
CD/DVD-A player.
If the disc is not playing correctly,
for any other reason, try a known
good disc.
If any error occurs repeatedly or if
an error cannot be corrected,
contact your dealer. If the radio
displays an error message, write it
down and provide it to your dealer
when reporting the problem.
CD/DVD Player
The infotainment system's CD/DVD
player can play audio discs and
MP3 discs.
Discs that are 8 cm (3 in) in
diameter will not work in the
CD/DVD player.
