Dome Lamps
The dome lamps will come on when you open a door.
You can also turn the dome lamps on by turning the
thumbwheel, located next to the exterior lamps control,
all the way up. In this position, the dome lamps will
remain on whether the doors are opened or closed.
You can use the DOME OVERRIDE button, located
below the exterior lamps control, to set the dome lamps
to come on automatically when the doors are opened, or
to remain off. To turn the lamps off, press the button
into the in position. With the button in this position,
the dome lamps will remain off when the doors are
open. To return the lamps to automatic operation,
press the button again and return it to the out position.
With the button in this position, the dome lamps will
come on when you open a door.
Battery Run-Down Protection
This feature shuts off the dome, reading, glove box,
cargo and underhood lamps if they are left on for more
than 20 minutes when the ignition is off. This will keep
your battery from running down.
Mirrors
Electrochromic Inside Rearview Mirror
with Compass and Temperature Display
When on, an electrochromic mirror automatically dims
to the proper level to minimize glare from lights behind
you after dark.
The mirror also includes a display in the upper right
corner of the mirror face. The compass reading and the
outside temperature will both appear in the display at the
same time. The dual display can be turned on or off by
briefly pressing either the TEMP or the COMP button.

2-56
Temperature Display
The temperature can be displayed by pressing the TEMP
button. Pressing the TEMP button once briefly, will
toggle the temperature reading on and off. To alternate
the temperature reading between Fahrenheit and Celsius,
press and hold the TEMP button for three seconds until
the display blinks F and C. Press and release the
TEMP button to toggle between the Fahrenheit and
Celsius readings. After five seconds of inactivity,
the display will stop blinking and display the last
selection made.
Press and release the TEMP button to toggle the
temperature display between Fahrenheit or Celsius.
If an abnormal reading is displayed, please consult
your dealer.Electrochromic Mirror Operation
The right button, labeled TEMP and located at the
bottom of the mirror, turns the electrochromic mirror
on and off. Press and hold the TEMP button for
six seconds to turn the electrochromic feature on or off.
The indicator light to the right of the TEMP button will
turn on or off to show you when the electrochromic
feature is activated.

2-57
Compass Operation
Press the COMP button once briefly to turn the compass
on or off.
When the ignition and the compass feature are on,
the compass will show two character boxes for
approximately two seconds. After two seconds,
the mirror will display the compass heading.
When cleaning the mirror, use a paper towel or similar
material dampened with window cleaner. Do not spray
window cleaner directly on the mirror as that may cause
the liquid cleaner to enter the mirror housing.Compass Calibration
The compass may need calibration if:
After five seconds, the display does not show a
compass heading (N for North, for example), there
may be a strong magnetic field interfering with the
compass. Such interference may be caused by a
magnetic antenna mount, magnetic note pad holder
or a similar magnetic item.
The compass does not display the correct heading
and the compass zone variance is set correctly.
In order to calibrate, CAL must be displayed in the
mirror compass windows. If CAL is not displayed, push
in the COMP button for approximately eight seconds or
until CAL is displayed.
The compass can be calibrated in one of two ways:
Drive the vehicle in circles at five mph (8 km/h) or
less until the display reads a direction, or
drive the vehicle on your everyday routine and after
several turns the compass will become calibrated and
will display a direction.

2-58
Compass Variance
The mirror is set in zone eight upon leaving the factory.
It will be necessary to adjust the compass to compensate
for compass variance if you live outside zone eight.
Under certain circumstances, as during a long distance
cross
-country trip, it will be necessary to adjust for
compass variance. Compass variance is the difference
between earth's magnetic north and true geographic
north. If not adjusted to account for compass variance,
your compass could give false readings.
To adjust for compass variance, do the following:
1. Use the COMP button located at the bottom of
the mirror.
2. Press and hold the COMP button for three seconds
until a zone number appears in the display.
3. Find your current location and variance zone number
on the following zone map.
4. Press the COMP button on the bottom of the mirror
until the new zone number appears in the display.
After you stop pressing the button in, the display will
show a compass direction within a few seconds.

Power Outside Rearview Mirrors
The controls are located on
the driver's door armrest.
Move the selector switch to the left or right to choose
the mirror you want to adjust, then use the arrows on the
lower control pad to adjust the mirror.
The mirrors include ground illumination lamps (puddle
lamps) in the base of the mirror. For more information
on these lamps, see ªPuddle Lampsº in the Index.
Driver's Outside Auto-Dimming
Rearview Mirror
The driver's electrochromic outside mirror will adjust
for the glare of headlamps behind you. This feature is
controlled using the on and off settings found on the
electrochromic mirror. See ªElectrochromic Day/Night
Rearview Mirror with Compass and Temperatureº in
the Index.

Curb View Assist Mirrors
Your vehicle is equipped with the curb view assist
mirror feature. For this function to work, it must be
enabled in the SIC. See ªSICº in the Index for more
information.
When the vehicle is shifted into REVERSE (R) there
will be a three second delay before the curb view assist
mirror(s) tilt to a preselected position. This feature may
be useful in allowing you to view the curb when you are
parallel parking.
When the vehicle is shifted out of REVERSE (R) and a
five
-second delay has passed, the selected mirrors will
return to the original position.
If further adjustment is needed after the mirror is tilted,
the mirror controls may be used.Adjusting the Tilt Angle of the Mirrors
Adjust the tilt angle for each outside mirror by doing
the following:
1. Enable the feature in the SIC (if it is not already).
See ªSICº in the Index for information on enabling
the tilt mirrors.
2. Place the vehicle in REVERSE (R) and allow the
mirrors to tilt.
3. Change the angle of the mirror tilt to the desired
angle with the mirror controls.
The mirrors are now set to the desired position. The next
time the vehicle is placed in REVERSE (R) and the
mirror tilt feature is enabled in the SIC, the mirrors will
move to the set position.
