Have the damaged or flat road tirerepaired or replaced and installedback onto the vehicle as soon aspossible so the spare tire will beavailable in case it is needed again.
Do not mix tires and wheels ofdifferent sizes, because they will notfit. Keep your spare tire and itswheel together. If the vehicle has aspare tire that does not match theoriginal road tires and wheels in sizeand type, do not include the spare inthe tire rotation.

will not work, and it could damage

The jump start negative groundingstud (1) for the discharged battery isto the left of the windshield washerfluid reservoir.
The jump start positive terminal onthe discharged battery (2) is locatedin the engine compartment on thedriver side of the vehicle.
The jump start positive terminal (3)and negative terminal (4) are on thebattery of the vehicle providing thejump start.
The positive jump start connectionfor the discharged battery is under atrim cover. Open the cover toexpose the terminal.
1. Check the other vehicle.It must have a 12-volt batterywith a negative ground system.

If the other vehicle does not have
a12-voltsystemwithanegative
ground, both vehicles can be

damaged. Only use a vehicle that
has a 12-volt system with a
negative ground for jump starting.
2. Position the two vehicles sothat they are not touching.
3. Set the parking brake firmlyand put the shift lever inP(Park) with an automatictransmission, or N (Neutral)with a manual transmission.
Caution
If any accessories are left on or
plugged in during the jump
starting procedure, they could be
damaged. The repairs would not
be covered by the vehicle
warranty. Whenever possible, turn
off or unplug all accessories on
either vehicle when jump starting.

4. Turn the ignition to LOCK/OFF.Turn off all lights andaccessories in both vehicles,except the hazard warningflashers if needed.

An electric fan can start up even
when the engine is not running
and can injure you. Keep hands,
clothing, and tools away from any
underhood electric fan.
{Warning
Using a match near a battery can
cause battery gas to explode.
People have been hurt doing this,
and some have been blinded.
Use a flashlight if you need more
light.
Battery fluid contains acid that
can burn you. Do not get it on
you. If you accidentally get it in

your eyes or on your skin, flush
the place with water and get
medical help immediately.
{Warning
Fans or other moving engine
parts can injure you badly. Keep
your hands away from moving
parts once the engine is running.
5. Connect one end of the redpositive (+) cable to thepositive (+) terminal on thedischarged battery.
6. Connect the other end of thered positive (+) cable to thepositive (+) terminal of the goodbattery.
7. Connect one end of the blacknegative (–)cabletothenegative (–)terminalofthegood battery.
8. Connect the other end of theblack negative (–)cabletothenegative (–)groundingstudforthe discharged battery.
9. Start the engine in the vehiclewith the good battery and runthe engine at idle speed for atleast four minutes.
10. Try to start the vehicle that hadthe dead battery. If it will notstart after a few tries, itprobably needs service.
Caution
If the jumper cables are
connected or removed in the
wrong order, electrical shorting
may occur and damage the
vehicle. The repairs would not be
covered by the vehicle warranty.
Always connect and remove the
jumper cables in the correct order,
making sure that the cables do
not touch each other or other
metal.

(Drive). There should be nomovement of the vehicle whileshifting.
5. Shift the transmission into D(Drive). Turn the engine off.Then shift the transmission intoP(Park).
6. Wait for at least 10 seconds,then restart the engine.
7. Shift the transmission to D(Drive), then turn the engine offagain.
Caution
Failure to disconnect the negative
battery cable or to have it contact
the terminals can cause damage
to the vehicle.
8. Disconnect the negativebattery cable at the battery andsecure the nut and bolt. Coverthe negative battery post with anon-conductive material toprevent any contact with thenegative battery terminal.
9. Shift the transmission toP(Park).
Caution
If the steering column is locked,
vehicle damage may occur.
10. Move the steering wheel tomake sure the steering columnis unlocked.
11 . W i t h a f o o t o n t h e b r a k e p e d a l ,release the parking brake.Keep the ignition key in thetowed vehicle in ACC/ACCESSORY to prevent thesteering column from locking.
Disconnecting the Towed Vehicle
Before disconnecting the towedvehicle:
1. Park on a level surface.
2. Set the parking brake, thenshift the transmission toP(Park),andmovetheignitionkey to OFF.
3. Connect the battery.
4. Apply the brake pedal.
5. Shift the transfer case out ofN(Neutral) to Two-Wheel DriveHigh. See“Shifting out ofN(Neutral)”underFour-WheelDrive0247.Seeyourdealerifthe transfer case cannot beshifted out of N (Neutral).
6. Check that the vehicle is inTw o - W h e e l D r i v e H i g h b yshifting the transmission toR(Reverse)andthentoD(Drive). There should bemovement of the vehicle whileshifting.
7. Shift the transmission toP(Park)andturnofftheignition.
8. Disconnect the vehicle from thetow vehicle.
9. Release the parking brake.
10. Reset any lost presets.
The outside temperaturedisplay will default to 0 °C(32 °F) but will reset withnormal usage.

(3)Visually check all fuel and vaporlines and hoses for properattachment, connection, routing, andcondition.
(4)Do not directly power wash thetransfer case and/or front/rear axleoutput seals. High pressure watercan overcome the seals andcontaminate the transfer case fluid.Contaminated fluid will decrease thelife of the transfer case and/or axlesand should be replaced.
(5)Or every five years, whichevercomes first. SeeCoolingSystem0292.
(6)Or every 10 years, whichevercomes first. Inspect for fraying,excessive cracking, or damage;replace, if needed.
(7)Replace brake/clutch fluid everyfive years. SeeBrake Fluid0299.

Belts
.Belts may need replacing if theysqueak or show signs ofcracking or splitting.
.Trained dealer technicians haveaccess to tools and equipmentto inspect the belts andrecommend adjustment orreplacement when necessary.
Brakes
Brakes stop the vehicle and arecrucial to safe driving.
.Signs of brake wear may includechirping, grinding, or squealingnoises, or difficulty stopping.
.Trained dealer technicians haveaccess to tools and equipmentto inspect the brakes andrecommend quality partsengineered for the vehicle.
Fluids
Proper fluid levels and approvedfluids protect the vehicle’ssystemsand components. SeeRecommended Fluids andLubricants0375for GM approvedfluids.
.Engine oil and windshieldwasher fluid levels should bechecked at every fuel fill.
.Instrument cluster lights maycome on to indicate that fluidsmay be low and need to befilled.
Hoses
Hoses transport fluids and shouldbe regularly inspected to ensurethat there are no cracks or leaks.With a multi-point inspection, yourdealer can inspect the hoses andadvise if replacement is needed.
Lamps
Properly working headlamps,taillamps, and brake lamps areimportant to see and be seen onthe road.
.Signs that the headlamps needattention include dimming, failureto light, cracking, or damage.The brake lamps need to bechecked periodically to ensurethat they light when braking.
.With a multi-point inspection,your dealer can check the lampsand note any concerns.
Shocks and Struts
Shocks and struts help aid in controlfor a smoother ride.
.Signs of wear may includesteering wheel vibration, bounce/sway while braking, longerstopping distance, or uneventire wear.

.Emergency Fuel Delivery:Delivery of enough fuel for thevehicle to get to the nearestservice station.
.Lock-Out Service:Service tounlock the vehicle if you arelocked out. A remote unlock maybe available if you have OnStar.For security reasons, the drivermust present identificationbefore this service is given.
.Emergency Tow from a PublicRoad or Highway:To w t o t h enearest Chevrolet dealer forwarranty service, or if the vehiclewas in a crash and cannot bedriven. Assistance is not givenwhen the vehicle is stuck in thesand, mud, or snow.
.Flat Tire Change:Service tochange a flat tire with the sparetire. The spare tire, if equipped,must be in good condition andproperly inflated. It is the owner'sresponsibility for the repair orreplacement of the tire if it is notcovered by the warranty.
.Battery Jump Start:Service tojump start a dead battery.

.Impound towing caused byviolation of any laws.

Service is not provided if a vehicleis in an area that is not accessibleto the service vehicle or is not aregularly traveled or maintainedpublic road, which includes ice andwinter roads. Off-road use is notcovered.
