WARNING LIGHTS
Each time the vehicle is started: a series of warning lights comes on applying a self-test check. They switch off almost
i m m e d i a t e l y . W h e n t h e e n g i n e i s r u n n i n g : t h e w a r n i n g l i g h t b e c o m e s a w a r n i n g i f i t r e m a i n s o n c o n t i n u o u s l y o r fl a s h e s . T h i s
initial warning may be accompanied by an audible signal and a message which appears on the display.

FUEL GAUGE COOLANT TEMPERATURE
The needle is positioned between
the blue zone and the red zone:
normal operation.
In arduous conditions of use or hot
climatic conditions, the needle may
move close to the red graduations.
What you should do if the needle
enters the red zone:
Reduce your speed or let the engine
run at idle.
What you should do if the warning
light comes on:
- stop immediately, switch off the ignition. The fan may continue to
operate for a certain time up to
a p p r o x i m a t e l y 1 0 m i n u t e s .
- wait for the engine to cool down in order to check the coolant level and
top it up if necessary.
As the cooling system is pressurised,
follow this advice in order to avoid any
risk of scalding:
- wait at least one hour after switching off the engine before
carrying out any work,
- unscrew the cap by 1/4 turn to allow the pressure to drop,
- when the pressure has dropped, c h e c k t h e l e v e l o n t h e e x p a n s i o n
bottle,
-
if necessary, remove the cap to top up.
If the needle remains in the red
zone, have the system checked by a
CITROËN dealer.
Refer to the "Levels" section of
chapter 7.
Refer to the "Fuel" section of
chapter 7.
The fuel level is tested each time the
key is turned to the "running" position.
The gauge is positioned on:
-
1: the fuel tank is full,
a p p r o x i m a t e l y 6 0 l i t r e s .
- 0: the reserve is now being
used, the warning light comes on
continuously. The reserve when

TOWING A TRAILER, CARAVAN, BOAT, ETC...
Distribution of loads
Distribute the load in the trailer so
that the heaviest objects are as
close as possible to the axle and
the nose weight is close to the
maximum authorised without, however,
exceeding it.
Cooling
Towing a trailer on a slope increases
the coolant temperature. As the fan is electrically controlled, its
cooling capacity is not dependent on
the engine speed.
On the contrary, use a high gear to
lower the engine speed and reduce
your speed.
In all cases, pay attention to the
coolant temperature.
Driving advice
A towed vehicle must free wheel:
gearbox in neutral.

Good Practice
In certain cases of particularly arduous
use (towing the maximum load up a
steep slope in high temperatures), the
engine automatically limits its power. In
this case, the automatic cutting off of
the air conditioning allows the engine
power to be recovered. Tyres: check the tyre pressures
of the towing vehicle (see the
" I d e n t i fi c a t i o n f e a t u r e s " s e c t i o n o f
chapter 9) and of the trailer, observing
the recommended pressure. See the "Levels" section of chapter 7.
If the coolant temperature
warning light comes on, stop
the vehicle and switch off the
engine as soon as possible.
Brakes
Towing increases the braking distance.
Drive at a moderate speed, change
down early and brake gradually. Towbar

Sensitivity to side wind is increased.
Drive smoothly and at a moderate
speed.

Connected directly to the heart of the
vehicle (multiplexed network: "Full
CAN"), the telematic unit, by means of
a "ready to use" service, permits the
sending in real time of information such
as:

- d i s t a n c e r e m a i n i n g b e f o r e t h e n e x t
service,
- w a r n i n g s a n d f a u l t s ( o i l l e v e l , coolant level, oil temperature,
