Even if all of the precautions

 are  observed,  a  risk  of Â
injury
 or  of  minor  burns  to  the  head, Â
chest
 or  arms  when  an  airbag  is Â
deployed
 cannot  be  ruled  out.  In  fact, Â

 bag  inflates  almost  instantly  (within Â
a
 few  milliseconds)  then  deflates  within Â
the
 same  time  discharging  the  hot  gas Â
via
 openings  provided  for  this  purpose.Lateral airbags

 put  recommended  covers  on Â
the
 seats. Â
These
 will  not  hinder Â
inflation
 of  the  lateral  airbags.  Contact Â

Front airbags
The front airbags are fitted in the centre of the steering wheel for the
driver and in the dashboard for the
front passenger.
d
eployment
They are deployed, except the
passenger's front airbag if it has been
deactivated, in the event of a serious
front
 impact  applied  to  all  or  part  of  the Â
front
 impact  zone  A in the longitudinal
centreline of the vehicle on a horizontal
plane
 directed  from  the  front  towards Â
the
 rear  of  the  vehicle.
The
 front  airbag  inflates  between  the Â
front occupant of the vehicle and the
dashboard to cushion their forward
movement.
d
eactivationo
nly the passenger's front airbag can
be  deactivated:
-
with the ignition switched off
,
insert
 the  key  into  the  passenger's Â
front airbag deactivation switch,
-
turn it to the of
f "OFF" position,
-
Â
then
 remove  the  key,  keeping  the Â
switch
 in  the  new  position.
The passenger's front
airbag
 warning  lamp  in  the Â
instrument
 panel  is  on  while Â
the
 airbag  is  deactivated.If

are on continuously

a rear-facing child seat, contact

Front airbag fault
T
o ensure the safety of your child,
it is essential to deactivate the
passenger's front airbag when you
install a rear-facing child seat on the
front
 passenger  seat.  Otherwise,  the Â
child

risk

seriously
Â
injured
 if  the  airbag  were  to  inflate.

eactivation
In the "OFF" position, the passenger's
front airbag will not be deployed in the
event  of  an  impact.
As  soon  as  the  child  seat  is  removed, Â
turn the airbag switch to the
"O n "
position to re-activate the passenger's
front airbag and so ensure the safety
of your passenger in the event of an
impact.
If  this  warning  lamp  comes  on,
 accompanied  by  an Â

 signal  and  a  message Â
in the screen, contact a

 workshop  to  have Â
the

OPEnInG tHE BOnnEt
Bonnet stay
Secure the stay in its location,
identified by  a  sticker  on  the  right-hand Â
side of the vehicle, to hold the bonnet
open.
Before closing the bonnet, put the stay
back
 in  its  clip  without  using  excessive Â
force.
On the outside
Raise the bonnet slightly by reaching
in a  flat  hand,  palm  down,  to  make Â
access
 to  the  lever  easier.
With this hand, push the safety catch
to
 the  left.  Raise  the  bonnet.
On the inside
Pull the lever below the dashboard
towards you.  The  bonnet  is  released.
to close
Lower the bonnet and release it at the
end of  its  travel.  Check  that  the  bonnet Â
is
 secure.

cooling system
Only use the fluid recommended by the manufacturer.
Otherwise,
 you  risk  seriously  damaging Â
your
 engine.
When
 the  engine  is  warm,  the Â
temperature
 of  the  coolant  is  controlled Â
by
 the  engine  fan. Â
As
 this  fan  can Â
operate
 with  the  ignition  key  removed Â
and
 because  the  cooling  system  is Â
pressurised, wait for at least one hour
after the engine has stopped before
carrying
 out  any  work.
Slacken
 the  cap  by  1/4  of  a  turn  to Â
release the pressure to prevent any
risk
 of  scalding.  When  the  pressure Â
has
 dropped,  remove  the  cap  and  top Â
up
 the  level  with  coolant.
If
 fluid  has  to  be  added  frequently, Â
this
 indicates  a  fault  which  must  be Â
checked
 by  a  CITROËN  dealer  as Â
soon
 as  possible.
Power steering fluid level
The vehicle must be parked on level ground with  the  engine  cold.  Unscrew Â
the cap integrated with the gauge and
check
 the  level  which  must  be  between Â
the
 MIN  and  MAX  marks. In
 order  to  regenerate  the  filter,  you  are advised to drive at a speed higher
than
 40  mph  (60  km/h)  for  at  least  five  minutes
 as  soon  as  possible,  when Â
traffic
 conditions  permit  (until  the Â
message
 disappears  and  the  service Â
warning
 lamp  goes  off).
