The audible and/or visual rear parking sensor system  consists  of  four Â
proximity
 sensors,  installed  in  the Â
rear
 bumper. Â
The
 sensors  detect  any Â
obstacle
which  enters  the  field:  person, Â
vehicle, tree, fence, behind the vehicle
during
 the  manoeuvre.
Certain
 objects  detected  at  the Â
beginning
of  the  manoeuvre  will  no Â
longer be detected at the end of the
manoeuvre
due  to  the  blind  spots Â
between
 and  below  the  sensors. Â
Examples:
 stake,  roadworks  cone  or Â
pavement
 post.

of
Â
the
Â
system

The

Activation / deactivationMalfunction
In the event of a malfunction, when reverse gear is engaged the LE
d in the
button
comes  on,  accompanied  by  an Â
audible
signal  and  a  message  in  the Â
screen.
Contact  a  CITROËN  dealer  or Â
a
 qualified  workshop.
Good practice
In bad weather or in winter, ensure that
the sensors  are  not  covered  with  mud, Â
ice
 or  snow.
The
 system  will  be  deactivated Â
automatically
if  a  trailer  is  being  towed Â
or
if  a  bicycle  carrier  is  fitted  (vehicle Â
fitted
with  a  towbar  or  bicycle  carrier Â
recommended
 by  CITROËN).
The
 parking  assistance  cannot,  in Â
any
circumstances,  take  the  place  of Â
the vigilance and responsibility of the
driver
.
You can activate or deactivate
the
Â
system
Â
by
Â
pressing
Â
this
Â
button.
The activation or deactivation
of
Â
the
Â
system
Â
is
Â
stored
Â
when
Â
the
Â
vehicle
Â
stops.

Good Practice
In certain cases of particularly arduous
use (towing  the  maximum  load  up  a Â
steep
slope  in  high  temperatures),  the Â
engine
 automatically  limits  its  power. Â
In this case,
the air conditioning is
automatically
cut  off  to  save  engine Â
power
.

Check
the  tyre  pressures  of  the  towing Â
vehicle and of the trailer
, observing the
recommended
 pressures.

towbar
We recommend the use of genuine CITRo Ë n towbars and their
harnesses, which have been tested
and
approved  from  the  design  stage  of Â
your vehicle, and that you entrust the
fitting
of  this  equipment  to  a  CITROËN Â
dealer
.
If
this  equipment  is  not  fitted  by  a Â
CITROËN
dealer,  it  is  imperative  that Â
it
is  fitted  using  the  electrical  pre-
equipment
installed  at  the  rear  of  the Â
vehicle and in accordance with the
manufacturer's
 instructions.
In accordance with the general
instructions
a  reminder  of  which  has Â
been given above, we draw your
attention
to  the  risk  associated  with Â
fitting
a  towbar  or  electrical  accessory Â
not
 recommended  by  CITROËN. Â
Fitting
such  equipment  could  result  in Â
the failure of your vehicle's electronic
system.
 Please  obtain  information  from Â
the
Manufacturer  before  fitting  this  type Â
of
 equipment.
