Quality of the fuel used for Diesel engines
The Diesel engines are perfectly com-
patible with biofuels which conform to
current and future European standards
(Diesel fuel which complies with stand-
ard EN 590 mixed with a biofuel which
complies with standard EN 14214)
available at the pumps (containing up
to 7 % Fatty Acid Methyl Ester).
The B30 biofuel can be used in cer-
tain Diesel engines; however, this use
is subject to strict application of the
special servicing conditions. Consult a
CITROËN dealer.
The use of any other type of (bio)fuel
(vegetable or animal oils, pure or dilut-
ed, domestic fuel...) is strictly prohibited
(risk of damage to the engine and fuel
system).
petrol engines
The petrol engines are perfectly com-
patible with E10 type petrol biofuels
(containing 10 % ethanol), conforming
to European standards EN 228 and
EN 15376.
E85 type fuels (containing up to 85 %
ethanol) are reserved exclusively for ve-
hicles marketed for the use of this type
of fuel (BioFlex vehicles). The quality of
the ethanol must comply with European
standard EN 15376.
For Brazil only, special vehicles are
marketed to run on fuels containing up
to 100 % ethanol (type E100).

Main lighting
The various front and rear lights of the
vehicle are designed to adapt the driver's
v i s i b i l i t y p r o g r e s s i v e l y i n r e l a t i o n t o t h e c l i -
matic conditions:
- s i d e l i g h t s , t o b e s e e n ,
- d i p p e d h e a d l a m p s t o s e e w i t h o u t dazzling other drivers,
- m a i n b e a m h e a d l a m p s t o s e e c l e a r l y w h e n t h e r o a d i s c l e a r .

Front and rear fog lamps

The fog lamps operate with the dipped
a n d m a i n b e a m h e a d l a m p s . front and rear fog lamps
To switch on the front fog lamps,
turn the push ring C forwards one
n o t c h .
To switch on the rear fog lamps, turn
the push ring C f o r w a r d s t w o n o t c h e s .
To switch off the front fog lamps,
turn the push ring C rearwards one
n o t c h .
To switch off the rear fog lamps,
turn the push ring C rearwards two
n o t c h e s .
The ring C returns to its initial position
a u t o m a t i c a l l y .
T h e f r o n t f o g l a m p s a r e s w i t c h e d o n a u -
t o m a t i c a l l y w h e n y o u s w i t c h o n t h e r e a r
f o g l a m p s .
The rear fog lamps are switched off
a u t o m a t i c a l l y w h e n y o u s w i t c h o f f t h e
d i p p e d / m a i n b e a m h e a d l a m p s o r t h e
f r o n t f o g l a m p s .
O n v e h i c l e s fi t t e d w i t h d a y t i m e l i g h t s ,
t h e r e a r f o g l a m p s c a n b e s w i t c h e d o n
even if the lights stalk is in the "OFF"
p o s i t i o n .
I n g o o d o r r a i n y w e a t h e r , b o t h
d a y a n d n i g h t , t h e f r o n t f o g
lamps and the rear fog lamps
a r e p r o h i b i t e d . I n t h e s e s i t u a t i o n s ,
t h e p o w e r o f t h e i r b e a m s m a y d a z z l e
o t h e r d r i v e r s .
Do not forget to switch off the front
fog lamps and the rear fog lamps
w h e n t h e y a r e n o l o n g e r n e c e s s a r y .
Lights on buzzer
T h e t r i g g e r i n g o f a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l
when the driver's door is opened
warns the driver that he has forgotten
to switch off his vehicle's lights, with
t h e i g n i t i o n o f f .
In this case, switching off the lights
s t o p s t h e a u d i b l e s i g n a l .
I f c o n d e n s a t i o n i s p r e s e n t , i t i s a d v i s -
a b l e t o s w i t c h t h e h e a d l a m p s o n f o r a
f e w m i n u t e s i n o r d e r t o c l e a r i t .
