Service indicator
The point at which the next service is due is calculated from the last indicator zero reset, depending on the distance travelled and the time elapsed since the last service.
System which informs the driver when the next service is due, in accordance with the manufacturer's servicing schedule.
Between 600 miles (1 000 km) and 1 800 miles (3 000 km) remain before the next service is due
For 5 seconds after the ignition is switched on, the spanner symbolising the service operations comes on. The distance recorder display line indicates the distance remaining before the next service is due. Example: 1 739 miles (2 800 km) remain before the next service is due. For 5 seconds after the ignition is switched on, the screen indicates:
5 seconds after the ignition is switched on, the spanner goes off ; the distance recorder the spanner goes off ; the distance recorder the spanner goes offresumes its normal operation. The screen then indicates the total distance.
Less than 600 miles (1 000 km) remain before the next service is due
Example: 560 miles (900 km) remain before the next service is due. For 5 seconds after the ignition is switched on, the screen indicates:
5 seconds after the ignition is switched on, the distance recorder resumes its normal operation. The spanner remains on to indicate that a service must be carried out soon.
For BlueHDi Diesel versions, the degree of deterioration of the engine oil is also taken into account (depending on the country of sale).
More than 1 800 miles (3 000 km) remain before the next service is due
When the ignition is switched on, no service information appears in the screen.

Monitoring
Service overdue
For 5 seconds after the ignition is switched on, the spanner flashes to indicate that the service must be carried out as soon as possible. Example: the service is overdue by 186 miles (3 0 0 k m). For 5 seconds after the ignition is switched on, the screen indicates:
For BlueHDi Diesel versions, this alert may also be accompanied by the fixed illumination of the service warning lamp when the ignition is on.
The distance remaining may be weighted by the time factor, depending on the driving conditions. Therefore, the spanner may also come on if you have exceeded the period since the last service, indicated in the manufacturer's service schedule. For BlueHDi Diesel versions, the spanner may also be brought on earlier than expected, depending on the degree of deterioration of the engine oil (depending on the country of sale). The rate of deterioration of the engine oil depends on the driving conditions in which the vehicle is used. 5 seconds after the ignition is switched on, the distance recorder resumes its normal operation. The spanner remains on .

Stop & Start
Operation
Going into engine STOP mode
The "ECO" warning lamp comes on in the instrument panel and the engine goes into standby:
- with a 5-speed electronic gearbox , with the with a 5-speed electronic gearbox , with the with a 5-speed electronic gearboxvehicle stationary, when you press the brake pedal or put the gear lever in position N .
A time counter calculates the sum of the periods in STOP mode during a journey. It rests itself to zero every time the ignition is switched on with the key.
Special cases: STOP mode not available
STOP mode is not invoked when: - the driver's door is open, - the driver's seat belt is not fastened, - the engine is needed to maintain a comfortable temperature in the passenger compartment, - demisting is active, - some special conditions (battery charge, engine temperature, braking assistance, ambient temperature...) where the engine is needed to assure control of a system.
The "ECO" warning lamp flashes for a few seconds then goes off.
This operation is perfectly normal.
The Stop & Start system puts the engine temporarily into standby - STOP mode - during stops in the traffic (red lights, traffic jams, or other...). The engine restarts automatically - START mode - as soon as you want to move off. The restart takes place instantly, quickly and silently. Per fect for urban use, the Stop & Start system reduces fuel consumption and exhaust emissions as well as the noise level when stationary.
Never refuel with the engine in STOP mode; you must switch off the ignition with the key.
For your comfort, during parking manoeuvres, STOP mode is not available for a few seconds after coming out of reverse gear. STOP mode does not affect the functionality of the vehicle, such as for example, braking, power steering...

Maintenance
In the event of a fault with the system, the "ECO OFF" switch warning lamp flashes then comes on continuously. Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
In the event of a fault in STOP mode, the vehicle may stall. All of the warning lamps in the instrument panel come on. It is then necessary to switch off the ignition and start the engine again using the key.
Operating fault
This system requires a battery with a special specification and technology (reference numbers available from a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop). Fitting a battery not listed by CITROËN introduces the risk of malfunction of the system.
Before doing anything under the bonnet, deactivate the Stop & Start system to avoid any risk of injury resulting from automatic operation of START mode.
The Stop & Start system makes use of advanced technology. All work on this type of battery must be done by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
Reactivation
The system is reactivated automatically at every new start using the key.
Press the "ECO OFF" switch again. The system is active again; this is confirmed by the switch warning lamp going off, accompanied by a message in the screen.

Monochrome screen C Vehicles without display screen
Open the glove box. Make a long press on this button. Reinitialisation is confirmed by an low-pitched audible signal. A high-pitched audible signal indicates that the reinitialisation has not been done.
The new pressure settings registered are considered to be reference values by the
system.

Practical information
C-Elysee-add_en_Chap09_info-pratiques_ed01-2014
On vehicle fitted with HDi engines, the fuel system must be primed if you run out of fuel; refer to the engine compartment view on the "Diesel engine" section. If the tank on your vehicle is fitted with a misfuel prevention device, refer to the corresponding section.
Running out of fuel (Diesel)
If the engine does not start first time, don't keep trying. Start the procedure again from the beginning.
Fill the fuel tank with at least five litres of diesel. Open the bonnet. Squeeze and release the priming pump repeatedly until resistance is felt (there may be resistance at the first press). Operate the starter until the engine starts (if the engine does not start at the first attempt, wait around 15 seconds before trying again). If the engine does not start after a few attempts, operate the priming pump again then start the engine. Close the bonnet.
HDi 92 engine
Fill the fuel tank with at least five litres of Diesel. Switch on the ignition (without starting the engine). Wait around 6 seconds and switch off the ignition. Repeat the operation 10 times. Operate the starter to run the engine.

Starting prevented
Every time the ignition is switched on, the SERVICE and engine diagnostic warning lamps come on and the UREA warning lamp flashes, accompanied by the temporary display of "NO START IN" and 0 miles or kilometres - ("NO START IN 0 miles" means "Starting prevented").
To be able to start the engine, you must call on a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
You have exceeded the authorised driving limit: the starting prevention system inhibits engine starting.
In the event of a fault with the the SCR emissions control system
In the event of the detection of a fault
The UREA, SERVICE and diagnostic warning lamps comes on, accompanied by an audible signal and the display of the message "Emissions fault". The alert is triggered when driving, when the fault is detected for the first time, then when switching on the ignition for subsequent journeys, while the fault persists.
During an authorised driving phase (between 650 miles and 0 miles) (1 100 km and 0 km)
If a fault with the SCR system is confirmed (after 30 miles (50 km) covered with the permanent display of the message signalling a fault), the SERVICE and engine diagnostic warning lamps come on and the UREA warning lamp flashes, accompanied by an audible signal and the temporary display in the instrument panel of "NO START IN" and a distance, indicating the remaining range express in miles or kilometres before engine starting is prevented - (e.g.: "NO START IN 350 miles" means "Starting will be prevented in 350 miles").
A system that prevents engine starting is activated automatically from 650 miles (1 100 km) after confirmation of a fault with the SCR emissions control system. Have the system checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop as soon as possible.
If it is a temporary fault, the alert disappears during the next journey, after a self diagnosis test of the SCR emissions control system.
While driving, this display appears every 30 seconds while the fault with the SCR system persists. The alert is repeated when switching on the ignition.
You should go to a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop as soon as possible. Other wise, you will not be able to restart your engine.
