DRIVING
When the cruise control is
switched on, be careful if you
maintain the pressure on one of
the programmed speed chan-
ging buttons: this may result in
a very rapid change in the speed
of your vehicle.
Do not use the cruise control on
s l i p p e r y r o a d s o r i n h e a v y t r a f fi c .
On a steep descent, the cruise
control will not be able to prevent
t h e v e h i c l e f r o m e x c e e d i n g t h e
programmed speed.
T o a v o i d a n y r i s k o f j a m m i n g o f
the pedals:
- ensure that the mat is posi-tioned correctly,
- n e v e r fi t o n e m a t o n t o p o f another.
Programming
Turn thumb wheel 1 to the
"CRUISE" position: the cruise
control mode is selected but is not
switched on (PAUSE).
Set the programmed speed by
accelerating to the required
speed, then press button 2 or 3
( e . g . : 7 0 m p h ( 1 1 0 k m / h ) ) .
You can then change the programmed speed using butt ons 2
and 3 :
- b y + o r - 1 m p h ( k m / h ) = s h o r t p r e s s ,
- b y + o r - 5 m p h ( k m / h ) = l o n g p r e s s ,
- i n s t e p s o f + o r - 5 m p h ( k m / h ) = m a i n t a i n e d p r e s s .
Exceeding the programmed speed
I n t e n t i o n a l o r u n i n t e n t i o n a l e x c e e d i n g o f t h e p r o g r a m m e d
s p e e d r e s u l t s i n fl a s h i n g o f t h i s s p e e d i n t h e s c r e e n .
Return to the programmed speed, by means of intentional
or unintentional deceleration of the vehicle, automaticall y
c a n c e l s t h e fl a s h i n g o f t h e s p e e d .
Leaving cruise control mode
Turn thumb wheel 1 to the "0" position: the cruise control
mode is deselected. The display returns to the dist ance
recorder.
Switch off the cruise control by pressing button 4 : the
s c r e e n c o n fi r m s t h a t i t h a s b e e n s w i t c h e d o f f ( P A U S E ) .
Switch the cruise control back on by pressing button 4
again. Operating fault
In the event of a cruise control malfunc-
tion, the speed is cleared resulting in
fl a s h i n g o f t h e d a s h e s . H a v e i t c h e c k e d

REAR PARKING SENSORS
S y s t e m c o n s i s t i n g o f f o u r p r o x i m i t y s e n -
sors, located in the rear bumper. Activation
This detects any obstacle (person, vehi-
cle, tree, gate, etc.) behind the vehicle,
e x c e p t o b s t a c l e s l o c a t e d j u s t b e l o w t h e
bumper. A n o b j e c t , s u c h a s a s t a k e , a
roadworks cone or any other
s i m i l a r o b j e c t m a y b e d e t e c t e d
at the beginning of the manoeu-
vre, but may no longer be de-
tected when the vehicle comes
close to it. The parking sensor system can-
not, in any circumstances, take
the place of the vigilance and
responsibility of the driver.
The system is activated as soon as re-
verse gear is engaged, accompanied
by an audible signal.
On completion of the manoeuvre, when
y o u e x i t r e v e r s e g e a r , t h e s y s t e m b e -
comes inactive.
T h e p r o x i m i t y i n f o r m a t i o n i s g i v e n b y :
- an audible signal, which becomes
more rapid as the vehicle approach-
es the obstacle.
- a graphic (according to version) in the multifunction screen, with blocks
which become increasingly closer to
the vehicle.
When the distance between the rear of
the vehicle and the obstacle is less than
thirty centimetres, the audible signal
becomes continuous and the "Danger"
symbol appears in the multifunction
screen.

The system will be deactivated
automatically when towing a
trailer or when a bicycle carrier is
fi t t e d ( v e h i c l e fi t t e d w i t h a t o w b a r
or bicycle carrier recommended
by CITROËN). In bad or wintry weather, ensure
that the sensors are not covered
with mud, frost or snow.
Programming
You can activate or deactivate the
system by means of the multifunction
s c r e e n c o n fi g u r a t i o n m e n u . T h e s y s t e m
state is memorised when switching off
the ignition.
For more information on access to
the parking sensors menu, refer to
" C o n fi g u r a t i o n / V e h i c l e p a r a m e t e r s " i n
the "Multifunction screens" section cor-
responding to your screen.
Operating faults
If there is an operating fault,
when reverse gear is engaged
this warning lamp comes on in
the instrument panel, accompanied by an
audible signal (short beep) and a message in the multifunction screen.

BONNET
Protects the components of the engine
and provides access for checking levels.
Opening
Push the exterior safety catch B to
the left and raise the bonnet.
Unclip the bonnet stay C from its
housing, holding it by its foam pro-
tection.
Fix the stay in the notch to hold the
bonnet open.
The location of the interior re-
lease lever prevents opening of
the bonnet while the front left
door is closed.
Closing
Take the stay out of the support
notch.
Clip the stay in its housing.
Lower the bonnet and release it at
the end of its travel.
Pull on the bonnet to check that it is
fully latched.
RUNNING OUT OF FUEL
(DIESEL)
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a n H D I e n -
gine, the fuel system must be primed if
you run out of fuel.
This system consists of a priming pump
and a transparent pipe under the bonnet.
F i l l t h e f u e l t a n k w i t h a t l e a s t fi v e l i t r e s
of Diesel.
Open the bonnet.
Depending on version, unclip the
cover to gain access to the priming
pump.
Squeeze and release the priming
pump until resistance is felt (could
b e f r o m t h e fi r s t a p p l i c a t i o n ) a n d f u e l
appears in the transparent pipe with
the green connector.
Operate the starter until the engine
starts.
Depending on version, put the cover
back in position and clip it in place.
Close the bonnet.
If the engine does not start at the
fi r s t a t t e m p t , d o n o t t r y a g a i n .
Operate the priming pump again,
then the starter.
When the engine is hot, handle
the exterior safety catch and the
stay with care.
Before doing anything under the
bonnet, switch off the Stop &
Start system to avoid any risk of
injury resulting from an automatic
change to START mode.
Open the front left door.
Pull the interior release lever A ,
located at the bottom of the door
aperture.

Additive level (Diesel with particle
emissions filter)
According to your version of instrument panel,
the additive reservoir low level is indicated by:
- fi x e d i l l u m i n a t i o n o f t h e p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n s fi l t e r w a r n i n g l a m p , a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n
audible signal and a message that the
p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n s fi l t e r a d d i t i v e l e v e l i s
too low,
or
- fi x e d i l l u m i n a t i o n o f t h e s e r v i c e w a r n i n g lamp, accompanied by an audible signal
and a message that the particle emissions
fi l t e r a d d i t i v e l e v e l i s t o o l o w .
Topping up
The reservoir must be topped up with-
out delay by a CITROËN dealer or a
q u a l i fi e d w o r k s h o p .
Used products
Avoid prolonged contact of used
o i l o r fl u i d s w i t h t h e s k i n .
M o s t o f t h e s e fl u i d s a r e h a r m f u l
to health or indeed very corro-
sive.
D o n o t d i s c a r d u s e d o i l o r fl u i d s
into sewers or onto the ground.
Take used oil to a CITROËN
d e a l e r o r a q u a l i fi e d w o r k s h o p
( F r a n c e ) o r t o a n a u t h o r i s e d
waste disposal site.
Unless otherwise indicated, check these
components in accordance with the
Maintenance and Warranty Guide and ac-
cording to your engine.
Otherwise, have them checked by a C I T R O Ë N d e a l e r o r a q u a l i fi e d w o r k s h o p .
B a t t e r y
The battery does not require any
maintenance.
H o w e v e r , c h e c k t h a t t h e t e r m i n a l s
are clean and correctly tightened,
particularly in summer and winter.
Air filter and passenger
compartment filter Refer to the Maintenance and
Warranty Guide for details of
the replacement intervals for
these components.
Depending on the environment
( e . g . d u s t y a t m o s p h e r e ) a n d t h e u s e o f

A c l o g g e d p a s s e n g e r c o m p a r t m e n t fi l t e r
may have an adverse effect on the per-
formance of the air conditioning system
and generate undesirable odours.
Oil filter
R e p l a c e t h e o i l fi l t e r e a c h t i m e
the engine oil is changed.

The presence of this label, in particular
with the Stop & Start system, indicates
t h e u s e o f a s p e c i fi c 1 2 V l e a d - a c i d b a t -
tery with special technology and speci-
fi c a t i o n , f o r w h i c h t h e i n v o l v e m e n t o f a
C I T R O Ë N d e a l e r o r a q u a l i fi e d w o r k -
shop is required when replacing or dis-
connecting the battery.
Failure to observe this recommendation
may shorten the life of the battery. When carrying out work on the battery,
refer to the "Practical information" sec-
tion for details of the precautions to be
taken before disconnecting the battery
and following its reconnection.

Brake pads
Brake wear depends on the
style of driving, particularly in

town, over short distances. It
may be necessary to have the
condition of the brakes checked, even
between vehicle services.
Unless there is a leak in the system, a

Manual parking brake
If a loss of effectiveness of this system is noticed, the parking
brake must be checked, even
between two services.
Checking this system must be done by

shop.
Only use products recommend-
ed by CITROËN or products of
e q u i v a l e n t q u a l i t y a n d s p e c i fi c a -
tion.
In order to optimise the opera-
tion of units as important as the
braking system, CITROËN se-
l e c t s a n d o f f e r s v e r y s p e c i fi c
products.
To avoid damaging the electrical
units, the use of a high pressure
washer in the engine compart-
ment is strictly prohibited .
Particle emission filter (Diesel)
According to your version of instrument
panel, the start of saturation of the par-
t i c l e e m i s s i o n s fi l t e r i s i n d i c a t e d b y :
Following prolonged operation of the vehicle at very low speed or
at idle, you may, in exceptional
circumstances, notice the emis-
sion of water vapour at the ex-
haust on acceleration. This does
not affect the behaviour of the
vehicle or the environment.
